Dear friends,

I started working on translation of Madhyasth Darshan literature in May

2007 upon Baba ji’s (Shree A. Nagraj) suggestion that - “It will help in your
study”. The need for English translation was being felt from many quarters.
I also needed a way to make myself useful. These were the reasons for my
taking up this initiative. This presentation is while I am still in the study
stage.

The approach used for this translation is simple. I have chosen those English
words which sounded “close enough” to me for conveying the intended
meaning. The places where I didn’t find “close enough” English words, I
have taken the Hindi words directly. The words chosen thus have been
defined according to Madhyasth Darshan. The original Hindi text is
provided alongside for ready reference.

“Truth is communicable in words for those who want to understand” - is the

corner-stone postulation of Madhyasth Darshan. If Truth is communicable
in one language then it should be communicable in all languages. With this
premise, I accepted language to be no more and no less than a means for
communicating the intended meaning between the speaker/writer and the
listener/reader of words. I am not a scholar of English language and my
command on English is at best intermediate. This work is not an exhibition
of literary talent therefore. This is an attempt of communicating the intent
in original presentation of Baba ji (Shree A. Nagraj), so that Madhyasth
Darshan literature becomes more accessible to English speaking people.

The authority of refining the content of Madhyasth Darshan remains with

Baba ji (Shree A. Nagraj), while I take full responsibility for this English
translation. The English translation will undergo revisions in future. The
refinement in English representation – its accuracy, choice of words and
style of presentation – will require feedback and suggestions of those who
study and teach with this book. This scope for refinement is also our scope
of collaboration in studying and realizing.

This book is based on the transcript of Baba ji’s address to a small gathering
in Anwari Ashram, Bastar (Chhatisgarh) in 1997.

I have many individuals to thank for this book’s release - those who
provided their invaluable insights and those who provided their moral and
material support. I want to specifically mention here the names of Shree
Ashok Gopala (Dehradun), Shree Som Dev Tyagi (Raipur), Shree B. R.
Agarwal (Raipur), Shree Shriram Narasimhan (Pune/Kanpur) and Shree
Yogesh Shastri (Raipur). This project would not have been possible without
the support of my wife Priyanka, our parents, our daughter Gunjan and Baba
ji’s family at Amarkantak.

Lastly, I want to express my most sincere gratitude towards Baba ji (Shree A.

Nagraj) – whose anusandhan and inspiration is the very basis of this
presentation.

Jeevan Vidya - An Introduction

My fellow human beings!

I went through the ancient Vedic scriptures from my own

initiative. There was no external pressure on me for this.
Thereafter, I wished how this Earth should be. I wished - “May
Earth be heaven, May humans be divine! May religion (universal
orderliness) get realized, May Goodness arise always.”

I would like to present its background before you. I began this

bodily journey in a hard working, selflessly serving, religious, and
highly respected family in Vedic tradition. Every child starts
believing in some faith, accepts the constitutional law of some
nation, offers himself to the education available from tradition
and tries to follow guidance of his teachers. I also started going
through these things. Along with this, there were dictates of
tradition such as, “sit with these - don’t sit with those”, “do this -
don’t do that”. My mind could not accept these dictates. This
happened in my childhood itself. Initially elders thought that all
this is merely childish behaviour. Later on their disposition
towards me started changing. I felt, my elders are not happy with
me. This became the first cause of my misery. But how to make
them happy! If I were to do as they say, I would have to put them
to test on their own dictates. I could see that they themselves
were not happy every day and all the time. That was the crux
point. I started feeling that my elders, while telling me what to do
and what not to do, whether they themselves did or did not do
those things, were not happy all the time - while it was not
possible to find more respected, bigger scholars of scriptures than
them anywhere. After all this, I concluded – I will never follow
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
the dictates of tradition blindly. It started becoming like an oath
for me. Another reason which got added to this was that my
elders could not make me understand their point. The more they
failed the more my pride grew. The growth in my pride and my
rejection of dictates happened side by side. Where would it all
end? Now my elders started saying - he obstinately negates every
tradition and everything that we say, without having understood
any of our Vedas, Vedanta, and ancient scriptures. How can it go
on like this? They started worrying about it. This became second
cause of my misery. Now what could I do? With no other way left
for me, I went through Vedanta in accordance with scriptures,
which they believed to be the supreme knowledge.

First stage is Vedanta, which is karma based on Vedic thoughts.

According to Vedic thought karma is those actions which would
get one heaven, and all other actions are called something else.
Upasana are the ritual acts for becoming gods and goddesses.
Third stage says - Knowledge alone is supreme. I asked - What is
knowledge? The answer came – “Knowledge of Brahman.” What
is Brahman? – I asked. They said – “It is beyond your
comprehension.” I asked - without understanding it, how could
we realize it? The way told by elders is – “Follow the dictates of
scriptures.” What is to be done? What will happen? – I asked.
“You will get answers to these questions in samadhi.” My elders
gave me assurance that one gets answers to all questions in
samadhi. On this basis, I made up my mind that I have to see the
state of samadhi for once, and there is no other way out for me.
My claims do not mean anything. Neither my “doing” means
anything nor my “not doing” means anything. I must find
answers to my questions.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

After thoroughly listening to Vedanta, the first question that got
formed in me was: - What is bondage and what is
salvation? “We remain in bondage due to delusion.” They call
atma’s becoming dissolved into Brahman as salvation. Where did
atma come from? Then they said – “Brahman itself resides in the
hearts of jeevas in the form of atma.” If upon salvation of jeeva
(end of transmigration) the atma has to eventually dissolve into
Brahman, then why did Brahman go and sit into the hearts of
jeevas in the form of atma? When jeeva originated, that time
there was no atma in it, then what was the need for Brahman to
go and sit inside it? This turned into a pointless argument.
Because I did not blindly consent to what my elders said, they
started saying that I argue pointlessly. I said, what you
understand may be right but you should still answer to my
questions. After this they said that you will find answer of these
questions also in samadhi. Now what could be done? I gradually
prepared my mind for samadhi. It all started from 1944, and by
1946 I had become mentally prepared for samadhi.

That was the time when India became independent. In 1947, as

we were expecting the power got transferred to Indians from the
British. I kept listening to the great thinkers, elders of that time
and observed how changes came in them with this success. That
too pained me. After this one hope arose that now we will have
our country’s own Constitution - perhaps that will provision
appraisal of a ‘right human being’. I myself kept thinking that I
will surely get guidance from our constitution.

As Constitution was being framed I used to keenly listen to all the

newspaper reports, trying to understand. By 1950 after listening
to all that, I concluded that under this Constitution a right human
being’s appraisal is not possible, because it had no
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
characterization of right human being which we could term as
National Character. Now what could be done? I was already with
the challenge that – “All questions on Vedanta will be answered in
samadhi”, so I accepted that this question will also get answered
in samadhi. No more did I need to argue with elders and scholars
over this matter. If I get my answers in Samadhi, well and good -
otherwise I offer this bodily journey for learning, so I concluded
within myself.

One more person got ready in this endeavour along with me and
that was my wife. We used to hear about Amarkantak as a sacred
place, the place from which the Narmada River originates. Why
not give one last attempt after going there; thinking thus we came
to Amarkantak. After coming here, I started my sadhana by
agam-tantra-upasana method. This is a method prescribed in
scriptures for attaining Samadhi, where in the aspirant is to
visualize gods and goddesses in every part of his body. It is seeing
from one’s own imagination and doing their worship, chanting
etc. This activity of trying to see gods and goddesses is called
“nyas”. The formula given in the scripture for this is – “You
worship the gods by yourself becoming in the form of gods.” All
this was told to me and I prepared myself to do the same with
complete honesty. I did whatever I could do. In due course, one
day I became liberated from the proximity of gods and goddesses.
“I am” – that was the only thing left. I had no other thought with
me.

I did not have any thought that ‘I have to achieve something’. I

did not have any thought that ‘I have something’. ‘I have to do
something’, I did not have any thought of that as well. This was
something new, a small event perhaps, which happened. After
this event, this state remained for few hours. After that, the
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
moment I became conscious of body, I also became conscious of
time. Then I noticed that in that duration I didn’t have these
three aspects. I had no thoughts at all. This I believe had
happened with me. After this, I started thinking that perhaps I
have achieved the state of samadhi. I started repeating that state
of samadhi every day, for many hours and kept waiting for
answers of my questions. But even after waiting for many years, I
did not get answers. This was a second failure. The first failure
was not getting the answers from Vedanta, and now in Samadhi
also I did not get answers. Now what I could do? The highest
scholars in my family too were unable to answer my questions,
then where should I go now? There was no place left for blaming
anyone, and I lived through this deadlock. Living thus, one day I
felt that I had heard about samadhi, and I had trusted of my
having achieved it also, but how would I be able to tell others that
‘this itself is samadhi’? What is the confirmation or evidence of
my having attained samadhi? There is nothing that can be told
about it, then how will I produce its evidence to the world? To
dispel this dilemma I performed the activities for sanyam to
testify whether I had achieved samadhi or not. This instruction
for sanyam is also there from elders. It is mentioned in patanjali
yoga-sutra – “धारणा यान समा ध यमेक वातात ् संयमाः”. Any
scholar can read this. Whatever is written there about sanyam
was not acceptable to me. So I improvised on the method of
sanyam and carried it out. As a result of this, each and every bit
of existence started coming into my view, right in front of me.
Seeing means understanding.

Starting from an atom till this huge Earth, what all procedures
transpired, I have seen that sequence, methodically, and I can
make you understand that. I got established in this state. Along
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
with this, in the line of all atoms, I saw the ‘jeevan atom’. That
‘jeevan atom’ which is there in the same way in me, in you, in the
one who was born today, and in the state of having left the body.
I understood that jeevan lives with body, and it lives on after
leaving the body also. Why does jeevan live with body? I will
answer this question with the context later. Here I saw that
jeevan wants to evidence itself through body. That is all is there
to it. What is it that jeevan wants to evidence? The answer that I
got was – jeevan first wants to live, and then along with living, it
wants to become happy. Along with being happy, jeevan wants to
evidence its being.

These are the three states. In which the first state, of wanting to
live – that becomes complete in animal category itself. The stages
of wanting to be happy and produce evidence of its being can be
achieved only in human category and nowhere else. I have seen
this very thoroughly. This was a point of huge satisfaction which I
found. After this, in the same way I saw the essence of becoming
happy as ‘living in orderliness’.

Whatever material world there is – which we call as material

order and pranic order - in solid, liquid, and gaseous states, and
whatever pranic cell compositions are there, I experienced these
to be having numerous kinds of fluids and chemicals as their
basis. Whatever humankind does with chemicals is another
matter. It is from the synthesis of these fluids and chemicals only
that body is composed. The physiochemical matter itself forms
animal bodies and human bodies. The difference that I saw in
animal bodies and human bodies was - it is only in the human
body that brain can become fully enriched. Full enrichment
means that the brain system is fully capable for jeevan to express
itself in a multi dimensional way. I have seen this precisely.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
After seeing all this it occurred to me that animal category is in its
own orderliness, explained, and defined in itself. In the same
way, human category is also defined and explained in itself and
when human being lives thereby it becomes possible for him to
become happy, this too I found. Along with this I also found
answers to those questions – What is salvation in reality? What is
bondage? The questions for which I had set about for
exploration, I found their answers in this place itself. What did I
find? A jeevan controls every human body. To evidence what?
As mentioned earlier, to produce evidence of happiness. What
should human being become to produce evidence of happiness?
Human being needs to achieve understanding or become wise.
Human being will evidence orderliness and happiness only upon
achieving understanding and in no other way is it possible.

When I myself used to be in the stage of sadhana, that time all the
people kept saying about me that I live with lot of discipline,
restraint and precision. Crowds used throng to see me. But here
I am testifying that during sadhana there was no restraint in my
mindset. Until I achieved samadhi, there was no restraint in my
mind. The only thought that remained with me was that I have to
do sadhana, and I cannot do anything foolish. But it was not the
case that foolish thoughts did not at all come to my mind. On this
basis I can guarantee that until one attains samadhi, there is no
law in existence by which one would not get any foolish thoughts.
No human wants anything foolish to happen, and the one who is
doing sadhana definitely does not. I also did not want those
thoughts, still these kept coming. This difficulty is confronted by
all aspirants. Till the time one can bear it, one bears it, when one
cannot bear it, one does not – that is all I can say, that alone is
assessment of this situation.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Now, here I got the answer of what is bondage and what is
salvation? Bondage is ignorance or delusion. Ignorance is our
living like animals, assuming animals to be our role models. If we
assume such animal-like living itself as evidence then naturally it
would be delusion for we humans. The prevalent tradition forces
us to live in ignorance. Its evidence is seen in present day
education content having psychology that is maniacal for sex,
sociology that is maniacal for consuming and economics that is
maniacal for profit. People going through all this bless their
children for becoming good, cultured, affable and refined. Where
is the correlation between we teach our children and what we
wish for them?

Secondly, I found the answer to the question on National

Character. What was it that I found? Every unit in existence is
orderly with its innate-nature and participates in holistic
orderliness. I found the path for achieving this in humankind
also. I found the definition of human being. “Humanness” is
in the form of awakened human being’s work and
behaviour. When we formulate such work and
behaviour, and go about describing it – this itself
becomes Sociology or Constitution for Humankind.
Instilling the understanding of Conduct of Humanness
itself is the essential content of Sociology - this I
understood. In this way, I found that Universal Code of
Conduct for Humankind will emerge from such Constitution of
Humanness. National Character could then be recognized in the
form of Constitution of Humanness. If we become liberated from
delusion then we can live truly like humans, and that alone is
salvation. It is neither about turning ice into stone nor about
turning stone into water. It is neither about showing miracles nor
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
about blessing someone, nor is it about demonstrating mystical
powers. There are no mystical powers or miracles in existence - I
have seen this precisely. Even today there are millions struggling
in the cycle of curses and boons. There is only one answer to this
– the moment we take a single step in the direction of awakening
from that moment every curse, every distress, every sin – these
three get totally nullified. No trace is left of these. I explain this
mathematically as follows. While solving a maths sum –
thousand times we could do it wrong, but once we have learned to
do it right - then we do it right every time for the rest of our life.
Till the time we do it wrongly, every time we make a new mistake.
If we give a maths sum to a million children – then if they all
answer correctly, then their answer is only one. If they all answer
wrongly, then we get a million answers from them. Every
common person can survey this. In this way I found one more
formula. We humans are united in right and fragmented in
wrong.

When I saw (understood) existence – then I found one great

formula. Existence has only two kinds of realities. First those,
which can be counted as units. We can call those as nature
(prakruti). Second, that which is pervasive everywhere, which
everyone can understand in a moment. Every unitary reality is
submerged, encircled and soaked in this second reality. This
second entity can be called as Omnipresence. The entities (units)
are of two kinds – material and conscious. Conscious entity
means – animalkind and humankind. Material entity means –
material order and pranic order. Material world includes all
minerals, soils, metals and all compositions of pranic cells that
get formed and then get deformed. All these entities are soaked,
submerged and encircled in the Omnipresent reality. There is no
provision for units becoming separated from the Omnipresent
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
reality. Human being cannot create something for which there is
no existential provision.

If human being accomplishes anything while leaving the

usefulness of that which is existentially provisioned then it results
in nothing apart from destruction. For example – we made many
things for wars and from those things nothing resulted apart from
destruction. Perhaps this is slowly becoming clear to the
scientists. If they had understood it earlier then human beings
could have become happy and prosperous. Perhaps this is the
course of destiny of humankind. First humankind went through
mysterious idealism, but whatever relief it got from those beliefs
could not suffice. Then humankind came into the grip of
materialism. Whatever relief came from this also could not
suffice in the sense of living with happiness and prosperity.
Today’s human condition is manifestation of materialism. Since
complete relief could not be achieved from both these places,
naturally there is a third step needed.

This way the answer about bondage and salvation that I found
was as follows: - “When a human being achieves understanding
then he attains liberation from bondage.” Now how to achieve
understanding? For this, I did scrutiny of myself to find if
delusion is there in me? When I examined and scrutinized myself
then I found that there is no cause left in me for delusion. Then I
thought – why not generate this status in everyone? If this state
of liberation is generated in all, then how would it get manifested?
Then the vision emerges of what I had told you earlier – that
Earth will become heaven, Humans will become divine, Religion
(universal orderliness) will get realized, and only good will
happen eternally. Eternal goodness will get established in the

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

form of tradition. Then I started scrutinizing myself, whether I
will be able to express all of this? Do people need this or not?

All this program of spreading this knowledge started after this.

The main issue for which I became assured within myself was that
the Constitution can incorporate the Code of Conduct of
Humanness. Thereby National Character of Humanness will
become evident. I am definite about this. I am myself completely
proficient in this understanding and I am also a living evidence of
this understanding. I have understood ‘existence’ and I can
make you understand that. I have understood ‘jeevan’
and I can make you understand that. I have understood
conduct of humanness and I can make you understand
that. If these three facts are understood then we can consider
ourselves to have achieved understanding. What happened on
achieving understanding? On achieving understanding we
become liberated from bondage. Which bondage? We became
liberated from bondage, which was there in the form of delusion.
Elders from our tradition had told that upon salvation self
becomes liberated from transmigration to heaven and hell - while
in reality, salvation has nothing to do with liberation from
transmigration. No one went anywhere nor would anyone come.
All that is, is in existence.

Jeevan is in existence after death and it is in existence while

controlling the body. A piece of charcoal remains in other forms
even after getting burnt. This must be clear to the scientists of
physics and chemistry. If they have not understood this concept
then they are bound to understand it in future. In this way, ‘the
understanding’ gets understood. An entity cannot be annihilated.
On this basis I have wished – if this Earth is to remain hard, if
humankind can live in orderliness, this itself becomes the basis of
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
universal and eternal goodness. In this way the wish of goodness
that emerged in me, for its manifestation conduct of humanness
itself is the main issue. The big benefit from this will be that
humankind will be able to live eternally on Earth without
harming the Earth, without tearing its guts, without destruction.
The way for this also comes from the understanding.

Whatever unwanted events that humankind caused in its history,

all of them took place due to its lack of understanding. We all
know how humankind has harmed the Earth till now, Earth’s guts
were torn apart, Earth was inflicted with fever, numerous kinds of
deformities were readied on the surface of Earth – because of
which all rivers, streams etc became destroyed, air and water got
polluted, and how humans are getting affected because of this. If
this Earth remains in distress then all vegetations, living beings,
and humans will naturally be in distress. What kind of people
would have imagined that humankind would live healthily even
after inflicting wounds on Earth! Now the good news is if we stop
interfering with Earth’s balance then we can be assured that the
treasures on the surface of Earth are adequate for human beings
on this Earth. Mistakes, crimes, conflicts and revolts are flaws as
humankind’s ignorance. These are not products of
understanding. The testimony of humankind’s ignorance is –
human beings are unbalanced, Earth is unbalanced, rivers-
streams, hills and jungles all these are unbalanced. We humans
have done this unbalancing in the Science age, still we keep
boasting of Science – thinking that we will find something
definite from Science itself, even when conditions of humankind’s
getting wiped out from Earth have arrived. We need to pay
attention to this. Whenever humans will want to save themselves
from this problem then humankind will have to achieve
understanding. There is no other way.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Crimes cannot be stopped from lack of understanding even if
crimes are committed with legal sanction of national constitution.
Crime is a crime. All nations on the surface of this Earth have
their own constitution (legal framework). Every nation’s
constitution is essentially about “Rule by Power Centre”, which
gets manifested in the form of stopping one mistake by making
another mistake, stopping one crime by committing another
crime, stopping one war by raging another war. These are the
only three actions which can result based on these constitutions.
From these actions, accomplishment of liberation from
criminality cannot be seen anywhere. These three – mistakes,
crimes and wars – have only become bigger every day, every
month, every year, and every century. The history is replete with
details of fierceness of wars, abundance of crimes and series of
mistakes. This is testimony. If we seek its resolution and try to
go to the root of this issue then we find that the maker of all these
circumstances is human being only. Second significant cause is –
“Religious Law”. All religious laws that are there on this Earth,
they have assumed human being to be basically a sinner, unwise
and selfish. While the reality is different from this. Religious
laws tell their own specific paths, ideals, duties, responsibilities
and rituals for salvation of sinner, to turn an unwise into a wise
one, to make a selfish person into a benevolent one. This also is a
very straight fact. What is the net outcome of these religious
endeavours? We could not recognize any unwise becoming wise.
There is no evidence of a selfish person having become
benevolent. There is no evidence of a sinner becoming liberated
from sins.

I had earlier told you – sadhana is there until samadhi is

attained. In the duration of sadhana – the aspirant is not
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
resolved in his thoughts, his mind remains perturbed, because
one goes for samadhi only to rid himself of problems. The
greatness of an aspirant is only in terms of his endeavouring for
samadhi. In the duration of sadhana, a human being faces all
kinds of foolish thoughts, upon samadhi these get wiped out.

After samadhi, the aspirant is not left with any desire to do

anything, there is no desire left to accomplish anything and there
is no desire left to keep anything. This I have seen. Then how did
the desire arose in me for presenting all this (Madhyasth
Darshan)? I have already submitted to you that I had not
endeavoured for samadhi to become liberated or for achieving
heaven. I had become inclined for samadhi to get answers to my
questions. When I did not answers to my questions in samadhi
then I endeavoured for scrutinizing whether I had achieved
samadhi or not. In the course of this scrutiny all these came into
my understanding. This presentation emerged due to
humankind’s virtues, for humankind’s future, for humankind’s
universal good. What I have found has not come out of any
scriptures of past. This is a fact. The elders had only guided me
only this much that I will get answers only from samadhi. I
performed the stage of sanyam to scrutinize my having attained
samadhi and these postulations emerged only on that basis.

Consciousness of humankind has evolved through its history.

How a human being lived in Jungle Age, in Stone Age and in
Metal Age – it is all written in history books. The coming of
feudal age gave lot of relief to many people. The King was to give
protection for life and goods of his people. But that could not
happen till now. The protection of life and goods could not
happen, peace and harmony is a farfetched dream. Every family,
every community remains concerned for protection of life and
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
goods and for peace and harmony. The idealism is also a step in
the evolution of humankind’s consciousness, and whatever relief
people got from it did not prove to be adequate after some time.
When it became insufficient then naturally the rethinking
happened. Scientism came as a result. It got wide scale
acceptance due to its logical consistency. Earlier in the sermons
of idealism there was no scope for logic. In idealism, there were
dictates of dos and don’ts and those who did not believe in them
were branded as sinners, and all kinds of excesses were done on
them. All this is there in history books. Scientism was accepted
by humankind due to its being logically consistent and due to its
open invitation for logical reasoning.

Secondly, whatever hypotheses for heaven were there in idealism,

on which the desires of happiness were hinged, those became
commonly available in the form of amenities obtained from
scientific endeavours. Humankind thoroughly enjoyed all those.
Still scientific accomplishments did not prove to be sufficient for
human mind. Humankind again started getting drifted. In this
way a human being keeps swinging between the two extremes of
devotion-renunciation and accumulation-enjoyment. When one
becomes tired of accumulation and enjoyment then he runs
towards devotion and renunciation. When he starts getting cold
feet from devotion and renunciation then he runs towards
accumulation and enjoyment. Both these feel good in their own
way, but “feeling good” and “being good” are miles apart. Every
human being can think about this. Just because it feels good it
doesn’t become good. For example, cold water feels good – but it
is not a law that cold water is good. Someone can become catch
cough by cold water. Therefore, cold water’s feeling good or not
feeling good – both cannot be universal.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

We are moving towards instability and indefiniteness because of
Scientism. Scientists try to describe human being in the form of a
machine – in which they have not yet been successful. The
scientist who tries to describe human being as a machine, he
himself remains dissatisfied with his own explanation. Today it is
a big research topic to discover the structural function of human
being. They say, outcomes of this research will bring about speed
in human behaviour, work and thoughts. However human being
does not fit into this framework. Science has assumed only
structural function to be correct, which scientists can understand
and explain. Idealists advocate for sensitivity. Sensitivity cannot
be understood and explained in terms of Science. So the distance
between the two ideologies has remained. In this way,
humankind has kept on getting trapped in problems one after
another. Human beings live and die in problems. That is the
human condition.

Now the proposal that I am putting forward before humankind, I

believe, is result of humankind’s own virtues. My effort is
unworthy of getting such a big result. It is as if a ton heavy fruit
grew on a tree. I have found lot more than the efforts that I had
put. What is it that carries forward impressions after life? I have
seen it precisely. It is jeevan (conscious unit) that carries forward
the impressions from one life span to next. How? I have seen
jeevan to be in the form of inexhaustible strengths and forces.
You can study it as well. If you have the inquiry then you can also
understand. I trust that you need to understand. Therefore you
will understand one day. It becomes clear that whatever jeevan
does through body, it turns out to be more than the needs of body.
This is a natural process. I have seen (understood) jeevan. I have
seen human being to be a combined expression of jeevan and
body. Till now human beings were incapable of explaining jeevan
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
and existence by method of study. Wherever Science has tried to
explain existence – it has shown instability and indefiniteness.
Science has only given ideas for maniacal pursuits for profit, sex
and consuming. We humans have kept accepting whatever
proposals Science has kept giving. After accepting them, when we
experienced their results – those could not form the basis of our
fulfilment. In this way, we have lived with contradictions as well.
Now the proposal that is presented before you – that needs to be
understood. The way I scrutinize it within myself, you also need
to scrutinize it – and after scrutinizing when you become fulfilled
then you will offer yourself for making others understand. If I
become able to make other understand, then that gives me the
evidence of my understanding. This is the test of having
understood. At the root of my realization, I have seen
(understood) coexistence. In coexistence, a human being can
realize prosperity by producing more than his family’s needs. The
understanding gets manifested as resolution in every aspect of
human behaviour. I have seen that in the course of imparting this
study, one’s consciousness gets spread far and wide, while the size
of body remains definite as it was. The proposal, that I am
putting forward for humankind, has elements which can make a
person’s consciousness expand much farther than his bodily
limits. In this way, every human being has that ability and
aspiration, that the enthusiasm for understanding can be kindled
in him. That is the meaning of this proposal.

Science is but a stepping stone in the course of evolution of

humankind’s consciousness. The step previous to Science was
Idealism, and before that it was tribal world, before that Stone
Age, and prior to that it was the hunter gatherer age. We have
reached where we are after crossing all the steps behind us. We
should accept the contribution of each step behind us and be
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
grateful for them. I had told you about the background of how
this proposal came from me. In summary, I could not be satisfied
with the finest offering of the tradition (the knowledge of
Vedanta). Therefore, considering myself to be a responsible man,
I accepted the responsibility of finding answers of my questions. I
endeavoured only for this and for nothing else. As a result of this
conscious endeavour, I discovered the way with which all human
beings can become happy, religion (universal orderliness) can be
realized, Earth itself can become heaven, and humans themselves
can become divine. Therefore the desire and enthusiasm arose in
me to present this discovery to humankind, and I am doing just
that.

When I thoroughly understood existence, jeevan and conduct of

humanness – immediately afterwards I achieved the state, which
I am going to describe before you. After achieving the
understanding of existence I attained confidence in myself. I
didn’t have to make any additional effort for this. I started
scrutinizing this self confidence in every aspect of my living. In
the same way I became capable of respecting excellence. One
naturally respects excellence after becoming capable of assessing
it. What we cannot assess, we cannot respect as well. Third, I
could comfortably arrive at balance in whatever understanding I
had achieved with my personality. I did not feel any difficulty
anywhere in living according to my understanding of orderliness
in existence and jeevan. I named it – balance in talent and
personality. I proved true to this. Fourthly, I achieved
sociability in behaviour. As a result of becoming sociable I
started getting fulfilment in myself. Its benefit was that I was not
left with any complaints with the world. Now I keep scrutinizing
how meaningfully I live with this world. Fifth accomplishment is
– prosperity. I was born in a hard working family and I knew
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
doing hard work and serving others (seva). But earlier the
meaning of prosperity was not clear to me. Now I understood the
meaning of prosperity. I can produce more than the needs of my
family, therefore I experience prosperity. In this way, I achieved
all these wonderful things with understanding. I called this –
self-reliance. The way I became self reliant, so can you. When I
became self-reliant, then I felt that I have something to offer to
this world, I can make people understand, I can talk about it.
Therefore I started documenting my understanding. First
document was – Madhyasth Darshan Sah-astitva-vaad. I
formulated Madhyasth Darshan in four parts.

The first part is named as – Manav Vyavhar Darshan (Holistic

view of Human Behaviour). Second part is named as – Manav
Karma Darshan (Holistic view of Human Actions). Third part is
named as – Manav Abhyas Darshan (Holistic view of Human
Practices). Fourth part is named as – Manav Anubhav Darshan
(Holistic view of Human Realization).

In this way, I wrote the whole Darshan in four parts. Their

essence is – Madhyasth Darshan. Existence has the forces or
motions of attraction, repulsion and centeredness with their
respective outcomes. Among these the realization of strength and
force of centeredness is the existential purpose of humankind. It
was a miraculous discovery for me. So far whoever has got a
sense of this, they get impressed with this miraculous discovery.
Scientists accept the presence of attraction and repulsion forces
but they have not been able to understand force of centeredness
in the form of existential purpose. I think, this has been a huge
gap and flaw in scientific thinking. Therefore the need for
rethinking has come. Therefore I have done the work of
understanding and explaining strength of centeredness, force of
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
centeredness, law of centeredness, and centered jeevan. This is
what Madhyasth Darshan is about.

Elaboration of and on principles of Coexistentialism (sah-astitva-

vaad) was readied under three headings. First is – Resolution
based Materialism (Samadhanatmak Bhautikvaad). Its central
theme is – entire physical and chemical matter is orderly with its
true-nature. It naturally participates in the universal orderliness.
It is complementary to the conscious nature as well. Material
nature is participative with material nature (its own kind) also.
Resolution based Materialism tries to make this clear. Whatever
form of materialism that humankind has followed thus far is
struggle based or dialectical. While in reality, there is no conflict,
no revolt, no snatching or robbing in existence. Instead existence
has mutual complementariness. Existence is a celebration of
joyousness. There is continuous progress in existence. I have
tried to explain this in literature. But literature has its limits.
According to me – the understanding will get imparted from one
person to another person. Literature is only an attempt to reach
out. The essential point in literary presentation is presentation of
reasoning while keeping science and wisdom mutually aligned.
Wisdom means – recognition of purpose. If purpose is
understood or if purpose is recognized then we can present its
may do, it doesn’t matter. Where Science has brought
humankind, or what trap Science has got humankind into – you
can assess yourself. According to Resolution based Materialism –
all matter that is in physical and chemical form is inspiring
humankind for living in orderliness. All physical and chemical
units are complementary for each other and these are inter-
connected for further evolution. In this way there is resolution in
physical and chemical matter.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Second heading is – “Behavioural Humanism” (Vyavharatmak
Janvad). Human being is in existence. Human being seeks and
gets contentment through his behaviour only. Human being does
behaviour with other human beings. This presentation attempts
to explain the definitiveness in human behaviour with conduct of
humanness.

After this third heading is written as – “Realization based

Spiritualism” (Anubhavatmak Adhyatmvaad). The “spiritual” has
remained inexplicable in human history. We can understand
spirituality very easily in a few seconds. The emptiness that is
there in between us, which can be seen, which can be called as
Space or nothingness. It is the same Space which is there
between this Earth and other Earths, between one solar system
and other solar system, between one galaxy and other galaxy.
Space is uniformly present everywhere. Space is a reality which is
all pervasive. Entire countable realities (units) are submerged,
soaked and encircled in this all pervasive reality. Space is the first
reality that comes into a human being’s realization. After this,
realization of one’s own self happens. Without this Space
between you and me – I could not have recognized your being
there. Therefore whatever recognition and realization happens, it
happens in Space itself. Realization based Spiritualism tries to
make this clear, and it tries to explain the need of realization also.
Without understanding existence, how can human being
understand himself who is only its one part? Therefore it is
absolutely necessary to understand existence. Entire countable
units are in the omnipresent reality itself – this itself is the
evidence of coexistence. If we ignore existence as coexistence
then nothing apart from difficulty and misery happens. Till now
whatever conflicts, revolts, exploitations and wars that
humankind has done, they all contradict the understanding of
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
coexistence. Despite doing all these we humans hoped to achieve
something good! Our hopes did not get fulfilled and the events
kept coming as we had done. We sometimes laughed and
sometimes cried at the turn of these events. One side becomes
happy on killing someone from other side – thinking that it killed
its enemy. This thinking is there in the governments also, at the
level of nations also. Seats of religion also think this way. Now
what is to be done? Where should a human being seek refuge
now? In this way, we get only delusion from seat of state, seat of
religion and seat of education. Now where should we go? What
should we do? These were the difficulties. These difficulties were
there in me also before I achieved awakening. Upon achieving the
awakening, I became ready for thoroughly accepting this fact
within myself that I must take my entire findings to the world.

After this I achieved this understanding as discipline of living, in

the form of shastra. So far whatever economics we have
practiced , it is maniacal for profit. It cannot lead to humankind’s
happiness. The path of all human being’s happiness is only from
“Economics of Natural Cyclicality” – which is natural and in
accordance with co-existential orderliness.

Second thesis, which I wrote, is – “Sociology of Humane

Behaviour”. Human being gets contentment from behaviour
with other human beings only. When behaviour happens with
justice then there is contentment. The central point of this
presentation is – Conduct of Humanness. Therefore we can
accept the conduct of humanness as the national code of conduct.
This can be accepted as constitution by citizens of all nations. If
this happens then the fear of war in one community from other
communities can be eliminated. As long as there are war efforts,
humankind will not be able to live without troubling the Earth.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
And it will only use more intellect for more destruction of Earth.
By seeing this, we get an assessment of scientific intellect also.
Much of Science and many a scientists are devoted in war efforts
and they receive remuneration for these acts and feel blessed on
getting that money. War efforts only cause destruction to this
Earth. We have to achieve liberation from wars and for this we
have to achieve understanding and there is no other way out.

Third thesis that I have written is – “Psychology of Human

Consciousness”. In this I want to tell that the basis of
expression of consciousness is jeevan. Body is a vehicle for
expression of consciousness by jeevan in human tradition. I have
tried to explain this here. It has been presented for your scrutiny.
If you achieve this understanding then my writing this proves to
be meaningful.

In this way I have made my entire presentation as Darshan,

Vaad, and Shastra. Shastras are meant for describing the
discipline for humankind’s living in orderliness. These describe –
what is the way of living righteously? What are the norms of
righteous living? What are the ethics of righteous living? What
are the procedures for righteous living? These have been
explained in the shastras.

After this, to implement these came the programs (yojana).

Programs came into three forms.

First program is – Jeevan Vidya Program. Since ancient age

humankind has remained ignorant about his own self. In the age
of Idealism there were big efforts of explaining atma and
paramata (soul and supreme-soul), but those efforts could not
become successful. This ignorance about self has been the biggest
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
cause of human troubles. If this gets understood then all else can
be understood as well. Jeevan Vidya Program is for removing this
difficulty. The central point of this program is explanation of
jeevan. Jeevan is there in all human beings – young or old – in
the same way. The basis of equality in humankind is jeevan itself.
Bodies of any two human beings cannot be same. Jeevan is same
in all human beings. Jeevan’s strengths and forces are same in all
human beings. The goal of all jeevans is the same. Every jeevan
wants to become awakened and awakening itself is the goal of
jeevan. Every human being wants to achieve resolution. Every
human being wants justice. All of you can scrutinize this. No part
of your body awaits justice or which wants justice. No part of
body expects to be resolved. In the same way, there is no part of
body which wants prosperity. While human being naturally
expects justice, resolution and prosperity. Therefore we can
conclude that justice, resolution and prosperity are only jeevan’s
expectations. Therefore we need to understand jeevan’s form,
jeevan’s activities, and we need to understand justice, dharma
(resolution) and truth – for jeevan’s fulfilment. That’s the small
program which emerges from this. Jeevan Vidya Program has
been presented on this basis. This program got converted into
action plan. The stalwarts of Science and those who don’t know
any Science – all have heard about this proposal. Some of them
have understood it and they have started making others
understand and they have become successful in those efforts. It is
then I trusted that what I have understood has been meaningful
and it has become evidenced. Everyone can understand this, and
after understanding this – one can make others understand.

Second program is – Humanization of Education.

Understanding is every human being’s existential need.
Therefore all proposals of understanding should get incorporated
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
into education. We made syllabus for that and experimented with
it in a school. First such school was at Bijnaur district in
Govindpur. We had a very good experience there. Initially the
educationists used to say that environment affects the students.
But the experience at Govindpur was the students affect their
environment. I aspire to see this at large scale and for that the
efforts are ongoing.

Third program is – Family based Self-ruled Orderliness. It

is about Resolution centred Orderliness, in place of Rule by
Power-centre.

This is the way – Darshan, Vaad, Shastra, and Yojana have been
enacted.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Jeevan Vidya

I have understood jeevan and from here I begin my efforts of

making you understand. This process is called “Jeevan Vidya”.
First I want to make it clear that the sameness of jeevan in every
human being is eternally present. What is the reality of jeevan? –
every human being wants to understand it and want to evidence
that understanding – that is jeevan’s basic objective. Jeevan is
neither physical nor is it non-physical. Jeevan is an atom – it is a
constitutionally complete atom. What is constitutional
completeness? In a constitutionally complete atom there is
neither any imbibing nor any expelling. While whatever atoms
are there in physical and chemical form they are found to be
having imbibing and expelling their constituent subatomic
particles – which itself is known as “change”. The number of
subatomic particles of an atom’s constitution undergoes change.
That is the only change. Nothing else changes in the world.
Whatever changes human being will be able to bring about will
only be in the form of change in the number of constituent
particles in the continuously changing atoms. These atoms are of
two kinds – first hungry atoms and second emissive atoms. The
atoms in which there is hunger (need) for more particles for
becoming fulfilled, they have been called as hungry atoms. The
atoms which have some particles inclined to come out, they have
been called as emissive atoms. In this way, both kinds of atoms
are continuously active towards becoming fulfilled.

The fulfilled atom is called as constitutionally complete atom.

Constitutionally complete atom itself is conscious unit. It has
been named as “conscious unit” because the force of completely
evidencing the abilities of cognition and sensitivity is there in

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

jeevan. In the absence of jeevan even if body structure
gets made (in laboratory) – we will not be able to
evidence sensitivity, evidencing of cognition is a far cry.
In this way, human being becomes able to live in orderliness in
the course of evidencing cognition and sensitivity only. That is all
there is to it. Sensitivity is evident in all living beings of animal
order also. Human being does not become fulfilled or happy
without giving the evidence of cognition – whatever he may do.

A human being has to have happiness. In our pursuits of

happiness sometimes we think that we will become happy from
enjoyment and accumulation, or that we will become happy from
chanting and penance. All human beings make some endeavour
or the other for becoming happy, but there has not been any
evidence of anyone achieving fulfilment or lasting happiness from
these endeavours. Now in my pursuit of happiness, I achieved
happiness on the basis of understanding of existence. I think
every human being can become happy upon achieving
understanding. Human beings are united in right and
fragmented in wrong. For unity in humankind, there was a need
to cognate one aspect which is same in all human beings, which
could be the bearer of righteousness – and that aspect I
understood to be ‘jeevan’.

When jeevan lives with understanding then it produces resolution

in every situation. Every human being becomes happy with
resolution and every human being becomes miserable with
problem. The entity that understands is ‘jeevan’, while
controlling a human body. Whatever we humans could make
animals learn has only been in the purview of sensitivity. Now
how can one human being teach another human being? It is not
possible to impart understanding by use of force. A human being
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
can be restrained with the fear of livelihood for some time, but
eventually he gets over that fear. Example of this can be seen in
history in the form of end of slavery. Fear and incentive has to be
there in the purview of sensitivity based living. All nations, all
religions, all industrial establishments, all business organizations
make claims of providing orderliness on the basis of fear and
incentive only. While in reality, orderliness is neither from fear
nor from incentive – because neither fear nor incentive is
acceptable to human being. Then what should a human being
have to be orderly? The answer is – values and appraisal. A
human being needs a way of recognizing values. He needs the
method of appraising the extent of their manifestation. If
humankind has these two then it will have continuous tradition of
being resolved. Values and appraisal also come from
understanding. These are not bodily or mechanical processes. At
present, Science says all realities are mechanical, and nothing is
emotional. Living with this mechanical worldview has continuous
struggle with fear and incentive. Following this mechanical
worldview humankind has reached the stage when there is a
question mark on this Earth’s survival.

A problem cannot be solved from another problem, or any

number of problems that we may bring. Problem gets solved only
from resolution. We don’t have any relief in the absence of
resolution. We need to develop our systems from the way of
values and appraisal. We will become successful if we design our
systems while keeping jeevan’s relationships, jeevan’s fulfilment
and jeevan’s goals in the centre. Whatever systems we may
design around body while ignoring jeevan, they will only give rise
to disorder. Feeling good is not always being good. No bodily
activity is permanent. Bodily activity has to change again and
again. Jeevan remains to be there continuously. Therefore we
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
need the intelligence which can take decisions based on jeevan.
Jeevan is there in same way in everyone. Jeevan’s powers are
same in everyone. Jeevan has inexhaustible strengths and forces.
These neither end nor diminish. Why don’t these diminish?
Jeevan atom does not undergo any change in its constitution, so
its strength and force is inexhaustible. Strength is in evidenced in
its state of being and Force is evidenced in motion (interaction
with others). The evidence of jeevan’s strength is – every human
being accepts his continuously being there. Being itself is
presence. Study of every reality happens only in its presence. In
this course, all have jeevan in the same way. All jeevans have
same strengths and forces. Fourth, all human beings want to
become happy – which is the goal of jeevan. The goal of all
human beings is to become happy. We need to keep these four
things in mind.

Jeevan is a constitutionally complete atom, it is a conscious unit.

Now the question comes – who is the maker of jeevan? So far we
have thought based on the belief of there being some maker and
destroyer. “We can also make and destroy” – this has been the
basis of Science. We ended up in many deadlocks from that
thinking. Some nations say that they can make atom bombs,
while others say that they can’t make. Equality has no meaning
on the basis of being able to make or not being able to make.
Equality is in being with understanding of coexistence. Bomb
making contradicts the understanding of coexistence. Existence
– all that is – is coexistence. Whatever we may do while
contradicting understanding of coexistence, its opposition
happens from some place or the other. Business, due to its
contradicting the understanding of coexistence, became maniacal
for profit and got into vicious cycle of “less and more”. One
thinks it is “less”, other thinks it is “more”. In this way human
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
being could not live anywhere happily in a healthy way. To live
happily every human being will have to live with the way of values
and appraisal. Its first stage is - understanding of existence,
second stage is - honesty, third stage is -responsibility and fourth
stage is - participation. Human being needs to evidence his
understanding in these four stages. Understanding has three
dimensions – knowledge of jeevan, holistic view of existence and
conduct of humanness. I had described how jeevan is. Jeevan is
eternal, it aspires for happiness and it can evidence happiness
only in human tradition. The first task for this is to understand
jeevan – which is named as “Jeevan Vidya”. Jeevan is the bearer
of knowledge. There are three aspects of understanding –
knowledge, intelligence and knower. Knowledge: - Knowledge is
manifested in entire existence itself. Jeevan too is inseparable
from existence. Intelligence: - Understanding that happens in
jeevan. Knower: - Human being is the knower.

What is the reality which needs to be understood? Its answer is –

entire existence in the form of coexistence. The bearer of
intelligence is jeevan and the one who evidences intelligence in
living is human being. Human being is a combined form of
jeevan and body. In this way the greatness of jeevan and
greatness of coexistence becomes clear. Existence is manifested
as coexistence. Progress in existence is manifestation of
coexistence. Jeevan is manifestation of progress. Awakening is
manifestation of jeevan’s harmony. The world is the reality to be
understood. Formation and deformation in physical chemical
nature are interrelated and these are continuously taking place.
There is not a second when these events are not taking place.
Jeevan is the observer of all these formations and deformations.
The entity that sees and understands is jeevan only. Body doesn’t
see or understand anything at all. The part of body which is not
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
enlivened by jeevan is called as numb, where hot and cold does
not get recognized. Secondly, whatever cutting and stitching is
done during surgeries in hospitals one doesn’t feel anything after
giving anaesthesia. On these bases we understand that sensations
are recognized only at the places where jeevan maintains
aliveness. For whatever jeevan becomes inquisitive for its own
fulfilment only there it understands the truth, reality and
actuality – which results into the basis of jeevan’s becoming
happy. It is for this reason there is a need for understanding
jeevan. This need is there in rich as well as poor, in strong as well
as weak, in big as well as small.

The second formula that emerges from this is – Jeevan Vidya

doesn’t give any basis for conflict. It has the basis for universal
good. It has the source of continuity of happiness for all. It has
the evidence of being resolved. All these things emerge on their
own. In my understanding, humankind wants this itself,
humankind wants to live like this itself. We can live with
happiness only when we are including all in our living. Nothing
and no one is alone. It is not possible for human being to become
happy while leaving out his relationship with this Earth. If it is
not possible for us to live happily by leaving out any of the things
then how can we live while leaving out our relationship with
jeevan? How can human being ever become a machine – and be
free from the world of emotions? You yourself think, how can this
ever be possible?

When we go to market then we ask for the value of vegetables,

grains, gold, iron etc. Now who is the seer of this value?
Naturally, the seer is human being only. If everything has a value,
then there should be some value of human being also! The value
of human being has remained undiscovered by humankind.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Humankind has found value for every other thing from which
there was a possibility of making some profit – while if the value
of human being were understood then we humans will become
liberated from the vicious cycle of profit and loss. When we
understand values – human values, jeevan values, established
values, mannerism values – then we are no more left with the
need of profit and loss. Such a big load will be off the world’s
chest when that happens. In the vicious cycle of profit and loss,
one is not able to save himself, there is no question of saving
others. Anything and anyone can be sacrificed in this cycle of
profit and loss. One can become free from this cycle only when
human being becomes able to understand values. It is not
possible to be free from this cycle before that. We humans have
tried in so many ways but nothing really happened. Its evidences
are – Communism and Capitalism. Communism also eventually
struggled for Nation’s profit and did not become free from profit
motive. Capitalism has always declared itself to be with profit
motive. Therefore, to become free from profit and loss –
humankind needs to understand values. Human values need to
be fulfilled. Human values get realized when Jeevan Vidya is
understood, existence is understood to be in the form of
coexistence, and from having trust in conduct of humanness.
This itself is called as “understanding”.

It is only when we start realizing human values that we become

capable in doing right, or we become proficient in righteousness.
Until that happens, we remain caught in some mania or the other
and we don’t find any path for doing right. We need to
understand jeevan and existence to achieve understanding. This
is what Jeevan Vidya is about. There are two parts of
Understanding (Vidya) – (1) Knowledge, (2) Holistic view. The
bearer of both knowledge and holistic view is jeevan itself. The
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
knowledge of jeevan means the process of understanding jeevan.
When jeevan itself understands existence, that process is called as
holistic view of existence. All jeevans are equal. All human
beings have jeevan in equal measure. How did I understand this
‘equality’? In the course of self’s (jeevan’s) understanding self
(jeevan), in the course of jeevan’s evidencing itself in human
living, in the course of jeevan’s understanding existence, in the
course of evidencing co-existence – I understood that all jeevans
are equal.

The provision of understanding is not there anywhere in limbs,

sensory organs, brain or heart. This provision of understanding is
in jeevan itself. Jeevan itself is the entity that understands jeevan
and existence and there is no other entity that understands. In
this way we come to the conclusion that for expression of
understanding or for producing evidence of understanding,
human being has be as combined form of body and jeevan.
Expression or evidence of understanding is not possible from only
body’s being there or from only jeevan’s being there. The central
theme of producing evidence of understanding is – human being’s
living in orderliness and participating in orderliness. This itself is
the purpose of understanding. We naturally want to live in
orderliness. This process is natural to jeevan. This is not an
imposition.

In the course of understanding existence it became clear that

“existence itself is coexistence”, because nature saturated
(submerged, soaked, encircled) in Omnipotence (Space) itself is
the entire existence. Nature is the reality which is countable as
units. The one who counts is human being. This countable reality
includes all of material nature and conscious nature.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

There is a very small formula: - “Understanding gets Happiness,
Ignorance gets Misery”. So far the whole world has kept
struggling. Initially it struggled saying – “you will become happy
by doing penance, yoga or by renouncing the world.” People
practiced this also, but we did not get any evidence of happiness,
it could not come into tradition. Second time over we struggled
saying – “you will become happy by maximizing your
accumulations.” That too didn’t lead to becoming happy. No one
could become happy from both these ideas. In this course of
rethinking it has emerged that – “Understanding gets
Happiness”. In understanding the right happens. All human
beings are united in right and they are fragmented in wrong. It is
not possible for me to agree with your wrong and you to agree
with my wrong. That which is wrong, is wrong for both you and
me. All of us are united in right, this I understood.
Understanding alone paves the right for our good. We become
happy and prosperous from understanding only. It is only with
understanding that we live in the form of orderliness in the
present. It is only from understanding that we produce evidence
of coexistence.

Happiness is in four stages: - Resolution, Prosperity,

Fearlessness, Coexistence. We become happy when these four
come. Until these four come, we keep trying. In the course of
these trials only we have done all kinds of worships, penances,
recitations, yogas, yajnas etc. We accumulated lot of things also
in our pursuit of happiness. But happiness for all could not be
achieved. Understanding is the way for achieving happiness for
all. Understanding can be instilled in all. The first stage of
understanding is – understanding existence. Existence is in four
evolution stages. First evolution stage is material order, where in
all soils, stones, gems, metals etc are there – which evidence their
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
respective definite conducts. Second evolution stage is pranic
order – wherein all trees, plants, vegetations, herbs etc are which
evidence their respective conducts. Third is animal order, where
in all living beings apart from humankind – such as animals,
birds etc come, which evidence orderliness with their innate-
natures. Fourth is knowledge order – wherein only human being
is there, who is still awaited to become orderly. Now imagine –
the most evolved stage is the most backward! What does this
mean? Misery is but natural for humankind!

Humankind’s conduct also needs to evolve according to its

evolution stage. Every object evidences orderliness in the form of
its conduct. Humankind also has to give evidence of orderliness
in its conduct. We get one formula from here – which all of us
need to scrutinize within ourselves. When we go about
scrutinizing, first thing which we need to understand is – what is
the reality in me which understands? Then we need to
understand – what is the reality which responds upon
understanding? And finally – what does that reality achieve upon
understanding? This is the entire reach of humankind.
Humankind is counted in knowledge order. What is the basis of
humankind’s being counted in knowledge order? Whatever a
human being believes that he knows, he works and behaves only
according to that. Even if one doesn’t know, the aspect of
believing is there in every human being. One claims to know,
while in reality one doesn’t know – one is only with a belief. This
is the discrepancy in a deluded human being. 99% people believe
body itself to be self, all difficulties are born of that belief itself
and human beings have become distressed from these difficulties
also, and have desired to become liberated from these difficulties
– and this program is to address that desire itself. In the four
evolution stages, it is only human being – who cannot become
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
happy without understanding, without becoming resolved.
Material order is restrained from the way of constitution
conformance. Pranic order is restrained from the way of seed
conformance. Animal order is restrained from heredity
conformance. Every unit of nature other than humankind
expresses its definite conduct. Human being also has the need for
definitiveness in its conduct. Humankind becomes restrained
from the way of impressions (sanskar) conformance. What is
sanskar? Sanskar is understanding. The evidence of
understanding is conduct of humanness. When a human being
achieves understanding then he lives in orderliness and his
conduct is humane. When a human being is not able to live in
orderliness then his conduct is called inhumane. This is the way
we get the definitions of humane and inhumane conduct. Now we
think whether we need the conduct of humanness or not.
Whatever a human being recognizes as his need, he naturally
becomes disposed for it. In this way there is provision for
awakening in humankind.

Jeevan neither gets born nor does it die. Body gets formed and it
gets deformed. Jeevan wants to control body according to itself,
i.e. it wants to use body for its program for becoming happy. All
animals only evidence want to be alive by hereditary
conformance. While human being wants to live with happiness,
but when a human being goes about living by conforming to
heredity then he gets distressed. That’s all is there to it. We need
to understand it thoroughly and we need to evidence it
thoroughly.

Understanding itself gets evidenced. When I become able to

make others understand after understanding from you, it is only
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
then your understanding becomes evident. This is the way
understanding flows in the form of tradition. Ignorance cannot
flow into tradition. There is no variation in the content of
understanding between two human beings who have achieved
understanding. The variation happens in their presentation.
Therefore generation after generation understanding will get
more and more strengthened and more and more precise. The
way of doing right keeps becoming more and more precise. The
path of doing right becomes more and more ubiquitous. It is
needed for all human beings. Therefore only a human being with
understanding can become contented from offering his
understanding to tradition in the right way, and thereby the next
generation can become contented.

Human being is a sanskar conforming unit. Sanskar is

understanding itself. Since mistakes are not acceptable to anyone
therefore mistakes are not sanskar. No one accepts mistakes but
remains caught in them. One may have committed thousands of
mistakes but mistakes still remain acceptable to him. Since
mistakes are not acceptable to anyone, one doesn’t offer them to
the next generation. Therefore mistakes cannot form the
tradition. All these evidences lead to the conclusion that
understanding alone flows in the form of tradition. The central
point for understanding is – equality. The central aspect for
equality is – jeevan. Constitutional completeness, inexhaustible
strengths and forces – these are there equally in all jeevans. To
whatever extent I may want, think, desire and resolve I still have
same force for wanting, thinking, desiring, and resolving. For
jeevan to have inexhaustible strengths and forces, it has to be free

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

from all change. In this way, we can accept the constitutional
completeness by way of logical reasoning.

That I have achieved the understanding, how can I verify it?

Understanding can be verified in its manifestations of behaviour,
work and systems. I verified dozens of times in my work and
behaviour and found that I live in the form of orderliness.
Universal orderliness has not yet got formed in human tradition.
Realization is – understanding the realities as they are in
existence. When I live in orderliness, then I get the evidence of
my realization. In this way, my realization keeps getting
strengthened. This is the realization based living. In this way, we
conclude that a human being lives in orderliness upon achieving
understanding. Animal order manifests orderliness by method of
heredity conformance. Pranic order manifests orderliness by
method of seed conformance. Material order manifests
orderliness by method of constitutional conformance.

We reach to the conclusion that understanding is definite. The

bearer and carrier of understanding (jeevan) is definite.
Therefore the evidence of understanding is also definite. Jeevan
itself achieves the understanding and the evidence of
understanding happens in human tradition only, because brain is
completely evolved only in human body. We will not get the
evidence of understanding in any animal tradition. Coexistence
includes complementariness, evolution, progress and awakening.
The way and potential of understanding all these points is innate
only in human being.

The core issue of understanding existence is merely -existence is

nature saturated in the Omnipotence. These two are intertwined
and eternally inseparable, continuously present and manifested.
There is no way, process or purpose of separating nature from the
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Omnipotent reality – nor is their separation possible. That
which does not exist, we will not be able to do anything by even
imagining it. That which exists, only that can be understood and
its evidence can be produced. Existence itself is manifested in the
four evolution stages.

If we will not be able to evidence understanding then we will

neither be able to live in family order nor will be able to live in
societal order. Human population has reached to be seven
billion, but we have not yet been able to live in orderliness.
Increase or decrease in numbers will achieve understanding –
there is no such thing. What is the purpose in human tradition?
That purpose is realization of resolution, prosperity, fearlessness
and coexistence. We become able to live from the way of
complementariness with realization in coexistence. We trust in
the present by the way of fearlessness. We become able to
produce more than the needs of our family by the way of
prosperity. We become able to live with justice only upon
resolution.

Whatever endeavours that humankind did thus far in its history

by way of idealism or materialism – we could not achieve the
understanding. Its root cause is not being able to understand
existence in the form of coexistence. We missed something or the
other in understanding existence - as a result the tradition of
understanding could not happen. How could human being learn
to live in orderliness in the absence of tradition? In the absence
of understanding, human being could neither realize justice with
other human beings, nor could he realize law with rest of the
nature. It is due to this, human being kept destroying his
wonderful habitat.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Humankind has not yet found justice. When the supreme-court
judges were asked about this, they said – “we only give verdict, we
don’t do justice.” When judiciary doesn’t have the understanding
of justice would it be correct to call it “judiciary”? The same
courts command – “speak truth.” Now could the truth be
discovered in these courts of justice?

In the same way, what is the ‘work’ that happens in the executive?
All that happens in the name of work is discovering mistakes,
discovering crimes and then stopping them by making further
mistakes and further crimes. All workers are deployed only for
this work in the executive.

At the root of humankind’s awakening is ‘understanding’. If

understanding can reach till every human being then humankind
will be able to live with justice. Living with justice naturally
entails prosperity, fearlessness and coexistence. None of these
will come without justice. This explains that the backbone of
humanness is justice. The evidence of justice first comes in the
family, then it comes in the society, and thereafter on the whole
Earth. Human being remains fulfilled, happy and resolved from
living in justice. One’s trust in the present keeps getting
strengthened and one’s behaviour keeps getting refined and more
precise. All these things, which they say one gets from great deal
of virtue, are accomplished all of a sudden from living in justice.
The meaning of virtue, which I have understood, is – achievement
of understanding. In the tradition of understanding, a human
being starts evidencing his potentials, abilities and receptivity
spontaneously. Potential means – the activity of bearing. What
does a human being bear? Human being bears awakening or
delusion. When a human being becomes awakened then delusion
disappears on its own. Human being is an ‘impressions

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

conforming’ unit. Impressions of understanding or delusion
come from tradition only. The tradition is present for human
being from his very birth. Thereby impressions get transferred or
conveyed in a human being from his tradition. Then come the
initiative and beneficence. Human being achieves the
understanding on the basis of initiative and beneficence and
becomes liberated from delusion. The meaning of liberation from
delusion is – the activities of living with awakening. Whatever
education we have got from tradition thus far is – living in the
reference of body. Its evidence is that present education teaches
for maniacal pursuits of profit, sex and consuming. While in
reality, human being is different from animals. Human being’s
disposition is different from animals. Human being is a multi
dimensional expression. Human being wants resolution (having
answers of every why and how), while no animal wants
resolution. Human being wants prosperity (continuity of material
well being), while no animal or bird wants prosperity. No animal
– tiger, cow, snake, boar, etc – is disposed for accumulation. The
accumulation that an ant does is also not for the ‘aim’ of
accumulation. Ant doesn’t have wilful disposition of
accumulation. It collects the objects it finds by the habitual force
of heredity. Human being (in delusion) has wilful disposition of
seeking enjoyment and accumulation due to insatiable lust for
consuming. On this basis, the aim of human living became as
enjoyment and accumulation instead of resolution and prosperity,
and for this the perspectives remained as pleasantness,
conduciveness and profitability, and as a result we remained
miserable, we kept struggling, we kept getting beaten.

The only path for becoming liberated from this difficulty is that
we understand jeevan and existence, and that we understand
conduct of humanness. Human being is the most evolved unit in
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
existence – both in the form of body and in the form of jeevan.
Jeevan uses body to evidence its own existence and awakening.
At the time of using body it maintains the body alive and
afterwards it starts believing body itself to be conscious. As a
result jeevan becomes deluded and it lives in delusion. After one
bodily journey ends, it starts with another bodily journey for
realizing its existential purpose of getting evidence (of its own
existence and awakening). In this way, jeevan’s beginning and
ending many life journeys in delusion becomes the cause of its
sorrow. There is no such thing as sin or virtue in this. It is only
about understanding or lack of understanding. Understanding
comes only from the tradition. Understanding is to be achieved
only in the tradition. The salvation of the world is not possible
from one person’s liberation. Such imagination itself made us
fearful and helpless. With the conduct of humanness, every
human being becomes able to live in the form of righteous wealth,
righteous husband/wife relationship, and work-behaviour of
kindness. Such living realizes the good-use and protection of
one’s body, mind and wealth – and when these two aspects are
achieved, then relationships, values, appraisal and mutual
fulfilment become evident on their own. In this way – normal
conduct of human being gets described in terms of values,
morality and ethics. Good-use and protection of means in the
form of body, mind and wealth itself is ethics. Values are fulfilled
only in the course of recognition of relationships. For example,
when any human being recognizes his relationship with father,
his relationship with mother, his relationship with teacher – then
values (emotions) flow spontaneously. Where we don’t recognize
relationships there is no flow of emotions. In this way,
recognition of relationship is one big task. The study about
relationships happens on the basis of their purpose. For example,
the relationship of mother is (primarily) on the basis of
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
nourishment purpose. The relationship of father is (primarily) on
the basis of protection purpose. After all these relationships have
been recognized then human being doesn’t make mistakes. In the
absence of recognizing relationships – the mistakes in human
behaviour are inevitable.

When we see the present systems of State and Religion – we

discover that these are made for criminals. Both these systems
are busy in salvation of criminals in their own ways. Both these
systems could not deliver ‘understanding’ to human being. Every
human being wants to achieve understanding. Every human
being wants to be honest. State and Religion couldn’t show the
path of honesty. Every human being wants to be responsible.
State and Religion could not provide purpose of responsibility in
tradition. People have wished for good – that “there should be
good of all”, “all should have families”, “all should have harmony”.
People have been iterating these kinds of slogans. But merely
saying and iterating these slogans will not get the way out. The
book where it is written that “There should be good of all”,
elsewhere it is written that “The whole world is an illusion” and
“The real father and mother is God, whose refuge we should
seek”. The salvation could not be achieved from this approach.
When after going to the real mother and father (upon death) -
human being is not left anymore, then who achieved the
salvation? Human being’s purpose is achieved only from
understanding. The purpose is innate in all relationships. What
is the purpose of human relationships? The purpose of any
human relationship is to achieve resolution, prosperity,
fearlessness and coexistence. The purpose of all relationships is
linked only with this, and when all human beings become aligned
with this purpose the tradition of understanding gets formed.
The tradition will be only of understanding. Lack of
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
understanding cannot form tradition. Therefore, till now there is
no real tradition in humankind.

When one graduates from the prevalent education system he

believes himself to be the most intelligent and everyone else in the
world is a fool. This education is turning out millions of such
graduates. How to impart understanding to each one of them?
Unless one understands something oneself, one doesn’t accept
that for one’s actions. I can say this for myself. My family,
neighbourhood, village had highest scholars of Vedas – but they
could not make me read the Vedas, because I didn’t want to! But
on this Earth every human being wants to achieve understanding.
On this basis, there is complete possibility that every human
being will achieve the understanding. This movement got
initiated after seeing this disposition of wanting to understand.
Every human being also has the aspiration of imparting
understanding to others. This movement got initiated with this
truth. As a result of this movement, those who have understood
human being – all those characteristics have emerged in them
which we recognize as conduct of humanness.

The essence of ethics is: deploying means of living (body, mind

and wealth) towards existential purpose. This is also called as
good-use. Good-use of means of living is for two ends: - 1.
Towards serving others and in production, 2. Towards
realization of purpose in one’s relationships.

That of which we make good-use, gets conserved. This itself is the

meaning of good-use and conservation. When we deploy our
means of living towards resolution, prosperity, trust-worthy
orderliness and coexistence – then those means of living get
conserved, as a result we realize good-use of our wealth. Without
good-use there is no conservation and without conservation there
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
is no good-use. Conservation and good-use results in everlasting
harmony. The righteous disposition has continuous need of
deploying body, mind and wealth towards awakening.

If there can be any unit in existence with complete understanding,

then that unit has to be human being only. Human being is
manifested as combined form of jeevan and body. Human body is
from hereditary tradition. Jeevan is present in existence in the
form of constitutionally complete atom, with no contribution of
human being in its making. Contribution of human tradition is
there in human body. The need for the union of human body and
jeevan is only for jeevan’s realization of its awakening. The bodies
of animals do not have the provision for evidencing the
understanding. Therefore human being is known as a unit of
knowledge order who conforms to impressions on consciousness.
All three evolution stages apart from humankind are mutually
complementary. The need for humankind’s becoming
complementary has arisen. Human being can live in the form of
orderliness only with complementariness. Complementariness is
not at all possible from individualism or consumerism.
Humankind became individualistic from the two ideologies of the
past – i.e. materialism and renunciation-ism (idealism). Human
being becomes consumerist from materialism – as a result he
turns individualistic. Renunciation-ism (idealism) is by
definition individualistic. In this way, both these ideologies could
not provide a basis for formation of undivided society. On the
contrary, these ideologies became anti-social. While in reality,
human being expects to live in society, live in coexistence, live
with prosperity, live with resolution. It is human being’s
responsibility to fulfil these three purposes (i.e. resolution,
prosperity and coexistence).

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Responsibility entails understanding. When we take the
responsibility upon achieving the understanding of coexistence,
we become worthy family members, and thereby we become
worthy members of society. As a result we realize ourselves by
becoming universally acceptable. The need is to establish this in
the form of great tradition. Every human being expects and
aspires orderliness. According to me, every human being desires
orderliness as well, but its priority is lower than many other
things. So this desire is not strong enough and one becomes
helpless to do some other things. Now what should be done?
Those who are ready to understand immediately, first those
should be made proficient in this understanding. Those people
alone should bring education of humanness into practice and
instil righteous impressions in children. When children get
instilled with righteous impressions then comes naturally in the
family. In this way, humanization of education is the second plan
of action.

Material order, Pranic order and Animal order units are

complementary for humankind, but humankind’s becoming
complementary for them is still under consideration. There is a
need to fulfil that lacuna. It is only then we will be able to achieve
the evidence of humankind’s living in orderliness.

The goal of jeevan is – happiness, peace, contentment and bliss.

When the goal of jeevan is realized, the goal of human being also
gets realized. The goal (existential purpose) of human being is –
resolution, prosperity, fearlessness and coexistence. When goal
of human being is fulfilled then the goal of jeevan also gets
fulfilled. Resolution = Happiness. The aspects where we are
resolved, we experience happiness. The aspects where we are not
resolved, we experience suffering. Thereafter, upon realization in

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

existence a human being experiences peace while living in family.
A human being experiences contentment while living in
orderliness. In the course of evidencing his understanding a
human being experiences bliss. If we human beings live this way
then understanding will keep flowing into human tradition. In
this way, we human beings are worthy of realizing happiness,
peace, contentment and bliss.

Jeevan has inexhaustible strength and force. In this way, jeevan

remains fulfilled while continuously producing resolution in
human living. Jeevan is strength in its state of being and it is a
force in its state of motion. Jeevan’s activities get evidenced in its
state of motion, in its relationships. The realization of activities
happens in its state of being. Whether I (jeevan) became fulfilled
or not from all my (jeevan’s) activities of sensory experience – I
(jeevan) get to know that. Whether I (jeevan) could arrive at
definite conclusion from all my (jeevan) evaluation activities – I
(jeevan) get to know that. I (jeevan) continuously examine
whether I (jeevan) achieved reality from whatever I
contemplated, understood and realized. We will have to self-
examine, there is no other way. Fulfilment in these five levels of
self (jeevan) – i.e. experience, evaluation, contemplation,
understanding and realization – itself is the way for continuity of
happiness. This itself is called as happiness, peace, contentment
and bliss. Realization of these five levels of self itself is the
greatness of self-reliance in a human being. A human being’s
achieving humanness and living thereby itself is the meaning of
self-reliance. A human being’s living in orderliness itself is self-
reliance. A human being’s living in a self-inspired way itself is
self-reliance. Conduct of humanness itself is the manifestation of
self-reliance. The greatness of human awakening is in realization
of purpose in family, society, nature and human-made systems.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
We become able to trust in the present in the course of realizing
values in our relationships. When we don’t recognize the purpose
of our relationships then we don’t live in the present. We either
live in the memories of past, which is not the present, or we live in
our thoughts of future, which is also not the present. In this way a
human being doesn’t find any anchor for his living and he keeps
wandering listlessly. No-one wants to wander listlessly, but
present human tradition has no provision for indicating direction
and purpose.

Every human being can realize his potential upon achieving the
understanding of existence. Understanding of existence can come
into every human being’s conduct and human being can realize
his potential. Humankind’s greatness is in successfully
evidencing the understanding of existence. It is with this richness
that humankind can achieve continuity of happiness in its
tradition. It is with this richness that humankind can realize
balance in its relationship with animal world, vegetation world
and material world, and can make their use, good-use while being
grateful for their complementariness. Humankind can live
purposefully.

Human-human relationships achieve realization of values,

appraisal and mutual fulfilment upon understanding of
coexistence. Fulfilment is our natural choice. We never choose to
become unfulfilled. Every human being evidences resolution,
prosperity, trust and coexistence (by orderly living) on the basis
of being fulfilled.

Existence itself is the ultimate truth. That which is continuously

manifested is existence only. Existence is in the form of
coexistence. The influence of coexistence is continuous – which
results in progress (constitutional completeness) and evolution.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Progress is - achievement of conscious status (constitutional
completeness) by atoms in the evolution stage. Physiochemical
entities are continuously in the evolution stage. How many
conscious atoms (jeevan) are to be? – this gets determined
existentially and not by human being. Existence has manifested
all four natural orders (evolution stages) by its own way, without
any contribution by human being. Human being could not
evidence his complementariness to rest of the nature. On the
contrary, he has kept on exploiting the nature. How could human
being desire to become happy through exploitation? - this is
something to think about. All states, all communities, all religions
and most families think of becoming happy through exploitative
methods. It is the inherent belief of every State and community
that human being can become happy only through exploitation of
nature. It is the final conclusion of humankind thus far, and
Science concurs with it, that – “Human being can survive only
through struggle and exploitation.” Survival here is meant for
one’s own race and community (and not humankind as a whole).
Struggle means – “might is right”. It is believed that
advancement is only through struggle. The country which can
war more, which can use more of business mindset, which can
exploit more – that country is called “developed”. While in
reality, developed nation is that which has become awakened –
which is orderly, resolved, prosperous, has self confidence, and
understands coexistence.

The method of understanding jeevan by a jeevan is different from

the way physiochemical entities are understood. The
physiochemical entities are recognized through experimentation
method for the purpose of our utility. Utilities are recognized in
the form of objects of common aspirations and higher aspirations
of human being. Human being’s common aspirations are – food,
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
shelter and conveniences. Human being’s higher aspirations are
– long distance travel and telecommunication. Most of these
objects have already been recognized by experimentation method
and their production has been accomplished. There have also
been efforts for making these commonly available through ways
of business. The ways of business are with profit motive.

We become able to recognize our objects of needs because of

jeevan’s activity of reasoning. After recognizing these needs we
do production and experience prosperity. The point from which
we experience prosperity, we start living in orderliness. Therefore
we need to first make our students self-reliant and its only then
one gets disposition for realizing oneself in family, and thereafter
the need comes for living in social order. Becoming realized in
these three statuses is the good fortune of human being. Human
being’s spontaneous need is the only basis for becoming fortunate
thus. If there is such a need, then one can easily devote oneself
for studying and realizing this proposal.

I have tried to understand – what is “understanding”? Who

understands? What is the object of understanding? The reality
which understands is jeevan itself. The object of understanding is
‘existence’, ‘jeevan’ and ‘conduct of humanness’. In the course of
understanding existence, we need to understand the meaning of
progress (constitutional completeness) in existence. We need to
understand physical and chemical composition-decomposition.
The physical and chemical composition-decomposition activities
are present as material order and pranic order in existence. All
these physical-chemical objects keep turning from one form into
another. For example, the plants dry out and turn into soil after
some time. This itself is known as ‘continuous change’. This is a
continuous process that goes on in physical and chemical matters.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

In the same way, human bodies and animal bodies gets formed
and after sometime these deform into soil, air and water.

The reality that understands – jeevan – remains unchanged

forever. The entity that understands in human being is jeevan
itself. Understanding is to recognize all existence in the form of
coexistence. It is only with the perspective of coexistence that we
human beings can live in an orderly way in all situations. Living
in orderliness itself is the goal of human being. Living in
orderliness itself is happiness. Jeevan suffers from living in
disorder. As a result of this suffering, exploration happens in
jeevan for resolution. Jeevan has continuous exploration for
resolution. Not just in jeevan, every atom has continuous
exploration for advancement. This itself is the essence of
“continuous change” in material nature. At every place in
existence there is motivation of being in coexistence. It is because
of this motivation that subatomic particles keep on constituting as
atoms and atoms keep on constituting as molecules. In this way
human being understands how innumerable planets are there in
existence.

The variation in nature is because of numerous types of atoms.

Atomic type is determined by the number of subatomic particles
constituting the atom. It is on the basis of this variation in atoms,
there is variation in their compositions. For example – there are
many kinds of compositions in vegetation world. The
constituents of any composition are expressed in their natural
forms. These constituent atoms have a physical purpose, which is
participation in co-existential orderliness. The substance of
composition is also due to being in coexistence. It is on the basis
of this greatness that entire existence is present, evident and
manifest. Human being is a part in this existence itself. Human

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

being is inseparable in coexistence. There is no escape for human
being from coexistence. The places where human being tried to
escape from coexistence became cause of his own misery.

Every human being wants to be resolved within himself and for

that alone he explores. Every human being has the capability to
explore for orderliness. When a human being recognizes that he
is exploring all the time then he becomes clear about his having
freewill. The purpose of human being’s exploration has become
clear. The purpose of human being’s living has become clear. The
purpose of human living is centred on happiness. Human being
wants to live with happiness. The way to happiness is only one,
i.e. the purpose of jeevan and purpose of human being should
become clear. The purpose of jeevan should become clear from
understanding of existence. Understanding of existence fulfils
jeevan’s purpose. When jeevan is fulfilled, it entails human
being’s purposeful living with resolution, prosperity, fearlessness
and coexistence. This itself is the evidence of living in
orderliness. When a human being lives in orderliness then these
four goals remain achieved. Such human tradition is mutually
complementary and as its result the meaning of coexistence is
realized. Orderliness is about ensuring continuity of co-
existential expression. When anything happens against the co-
existential expression then the orderliness gets disturbed.
Human being (in delusion) causes all kinds of difficulties due to
his imagination and freewill. At the time of performing actions he
doesn’t know what difficulty would result from those actions, and
when we gets to know then there is no way left to remedy the
damages. It is due to imagination and freewill that a human
being continuously explores. The exploration and research can be
successful only when it is for orderliness, when it is for human

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

being’s existential purpose of resolution, prosperity, fearlessness
and coexistence.

Understanding of existence gets the following qualities in a

human being: -

1. Self confidence
2. Respect for Excellence
3. Balance in Talent and Personality
4. Sociability in Behaviour
5. Self reliance in Occupation

These can be called as “good qualities”. It is with these qualities

that a human being becomes sociable. Intelligence is in
producing evidence of understanding. The only reality in
existence who can be called “intelligent” in existence is the human
being with understanding of existence. The exploration keeps
happening in every unit of existence, but intelligence is something
which can happen only in human being.

Human being has four activities – knowing, believing, recognizing

and responding. Among these four, the aspects of recognition
and response are there in every other unit in existence also. Every
entity is recognizing every other entity, which is why it is able to
respond. A subatomic particle also recognizes other subatomic
particles; as a result these remain in the form of an orderliness (of
an atom) and express themselves in coexistence. In the same
way, from atoms and molecules till planetary bodies recognize
and respond to each other. In this way, all material order, pranic
order, animal order also recognize and respond to each other, and
as its evidence there is complementariness in nature. Human
being could not be satisfied from merely recognizing and
responding, and doubts arose in him. Human being has two

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

additional aspects – knowing and believing. Human being
becomes satisfied only when his “recognition” and “response” is
based on the activities of “knowing” and “believing”. Knowing
and believing is only of “purposes” of realities in existence. It is
only in the course of knowing and believing purposes that human
being can become sociable. Without knowing and believing he
cannot become sociable and coexistence doesn’t get realized. The
biggest irony of human being is – despite having the possibility
the knowing and believing, it didn’t happen. Human being
remains depleted in this state and depletes others also. Human
being has depleted Earth because of his own depletion. In my
view, the aspect of knowing and believing in human being should
be strengthened. Every human being has the possibility of
achieving this strength. Every human being has the need of this
strength and it is achievable. The meaning of education is to
evidence understanding and make it flow in human tradition.

We can understand jeevan’s activities in five parts. Every part has

two activities each, in the state of being and in the state of motion.
For example, jeevan has the aspect of ‘wanting’, which has the
activities of ‘choice’ and ‘experience’. We choose to experience.
The activity of choice is for the activity of experience.
Experiencing is also an activity, and the place in jeevan where
these two activities happen is called ‘mun (mind)’. Human being
has hypothesized in numerous ways for what all things are
needed for his ‘experience’ and he remains occupied in
accumulating these things. So far we humans have accumulated
for enjoyment in living and material objects. The reason for this
is, the extent to which we have remained unclear about the
‘purpose’ of enjoyment and material objects is the extent we have
remained helpless in their pursuit. We didn’t find the point
where the needs for enjoyment in living and material objects are
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
fulfilled. When we understand the “practical purpose” of material
objects – these are for body’s nourishment and protection in the
form of needs of food, shelter and conveniences. The need of long
distance travel and telecommunication becomes clear for societal
movement. All these objects have been accomplished and still
human being could not be satisfied. This is a very big irony.

The other two activities of jeevan are ‘reasoning’ and ‘evaluation’.

Jeevan does reasoning based on its present capability. All
reasoning is for recognizing purpose. Purpose essentially is about
producing evidences of resolution, prosperity, fearlessness and
coexistence in living. The opposite of purposeful living is
consuming unscrupulously, which has no stability.

Prevalent Science concludes that humankind will perish after

some time and Earth will get destroyed. If we continue in this
way, that has to happen. If we think on Earth-scale then we find
that humankind evolved on Earth only after it became fully
enriched and habitable. Earth provided the opportunity for
humankind’s gradual awakening. Instead of becoming awakened,
humankind moved towards consuming more and more. This
direction in living started an endless strife of seeking enjoyment
and accumulation. This Earth does not have enough material for
satisfying everyone’s lust for enjoyment and accumulation.
Therefore entire activities of enjoyment and accumulations need
to be aligned with human purpose. When we align material
objects with human purpose then these get devoted for
nourishment and protection of body and societal movement.
Societal movement is about participation in undivided society and
universal orderliness. When human being orients himself thus,
he gets to live with happiness. In this way, the purpose of jeevan
is to evidence awakening in existence. The basis from which it

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

would become successful is that every human being wants to live
in orderliness. The essence of orderliness is – recognition of
values, appraisal and mutual fulfilment, for which there is a need
to develop understanding.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Jeevan – As It Is

Jeevan is inseparable form of mun (mind), vritti (thoughts),

chitta (worldview), buddhi (intellect) and atma (self). These five
cannot be separated from each other.

The activities of mun (mind) are – choice and experience.

Activities of vritti (thoughts) are – reasoning and evaluation.
Activities of chitta (worldview) are – imaging and contemplation.
Activities of buddhi (intellect) are – conviction and
understanding. Activities of atma (self) are – authenticity and
realization.

Every jeevan is continuously active in the form of these ten

activities. Jeevan is found to be evidencing delusion or
awakening with these activities. In the state of delusion, jeevan is
inspired from sensations of body and only four and half out of ten
activities remain active. Until delusion, there is no basis for
understanding the remaining activities of jeevan, so there is an
inner conflict. These four and a half activities are – choice,
experience, reasoning, imaging and half of evaluation. In the
state of delusion the choice and experience happens on the basis
of sensations from body. Here one accepts those things which
feel good to one’s senses and rejects those things which feel bad to
the senses. The evaluation activity of jeevan functions in favour
of sensitivity only from the perspectives of pleasant-unpleasant,
healthy-unhealthy and profitable-unprofitable. The reasoning
and imaging activities of jeevan also take place towards the same
ends. Overall, one becomes ready to live while believing oneself
to be bodily sensations. This itself is known as – deluded self
(jeevan). A deluded self continues to have inner conflict –
whether this is right or wrong, this is more or less. One keeps
struggling with these difficulties all the time. Despite material
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
advancements, humankind’s mindset has not undergone any
qualitative change since hunter-gatherer age. The dormant five
and a half activities of jeevan need to be activated for mindset of
humanness. These activities are awakened only from
understanding.

Four and a half activities of jeevan are adequate for recognition

and response of sensations from body. Human being lives like
animals (or in animal consciousness) in the purview of four and a
half activities. Human being cannot live like human being with
four and a half activities alone. Such living is not satisfying for
human being. The central issue now is – evidencing all ten
activities of jeevan into practice. Part evidence of jeevan’s
presence is not enough for awakening. The way a healthy body is
when all five sense organs and motor organs work in tandem. If
any body part doesn’t function properly then we can’t call that
person healthy.

Awakening is not until we are able to connect the activities of

‘knowing’ and ‘believing’ with the activities of ‘recognizing’ and
‘responding’. So far through sensory recognition-response we
could evidence four and a half activities of jeevan. Now
evidencing the remaining activities of jeevan itself is the basis of
awakening. This will happen only by the method of ‘knowing’ and
‘believing’ only. Rest of the nature (apart from humankind)
functions and remains orderly by way of recognition-response
only.

The ultimate of sensitivity based living has been reached in

animal world. If the final destination were in sensitivity only then
there wouldn’t have been any need for humankind’s evolution on
Earth. There is nothing purposeless in existence. Entire
existence is orderly, harmonious and coherent as wholeness.
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Every motion, every state, every stage is connected with the
essence of purposefulness. What is purposefulness?
Purposefulness is to be orderly and to participate in orderliness.
In the state of jeevan’s awakening – understanding (bodh) and
conviction is centred in realization and authenticity, and
accordingly there are the activities of contemplation and imaging.
Evaluation, reasoning, choice and experience activities happen in
accordance. At present, we make all of our plans thinking bodily
sensations to be of highest value. Awakening is about
understanding of “values” and “appraisal” of the extent to which
this understanding could be practiced in human living. This itself
is awakening in practice. We humans have developed our life
styles based on sensitivity-centred thinking. In this way, the
needs of living are everything else apart from human being.
Which are animal world, plant world and mineral world. With
this materialistic thinking how human beings have used these –
all of us are aware. We are also aware how exceedingly successful
we have been in these endeavours. The imbalance arises when we
talk of defeating someone for the sake of our success. So far
whatever acts we have done with the goal of enjoyment and
accumulation – those have resulted in Earth’s imbalance. There
is now a question mark whether it will be possible to save Earth or
not. We will have to stop the crimes on Earth and we will have to
understand how to live without crimes. Liberation from crimes is
not possible from the thinking based on Science, which has
entered into our mainstream education. It is headed for disaster.
This line of thinking is taking us towards Earth’s destruction. It is
putting human beings against human beings.

In our efforts of uniting so far, many big nations formed an

association called ‘United Nations’. United Nations has had many
conventions but it could not conclude whether the right of war
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
should be with UNO or whether it should remain with individual
nations. In the same way, education policy is appraised three-
four times a year – but still it has not concluded what would be
the meaningful education for humankind.

I have studied, every human child remains desirous of doing

right. He has the need for justice. He speaks truth (narrates
events as they happened). As the child grows up he learns to lie
because the systems that we have made, it is not possible to live
without lying. Business is full of lies. Lie is there in State.
Education is not able to highlight truth. In this way, where would
a man go? In this way becoming helpless in the circumstances, he
designs his way of behaviour and routine. In this way, human
being could not achieve any of his purposes of being in existence.
The big organizations and government institutions have huge
projects lined up, but they are all stuck with this difficulty.

The need is definitely there to get rid of this difficulty, but that
would be possible only when human being achieves
understanding of coexistence, and that would also happen
through only one way – i.e. conduct of humanness.
Understanding of “values” and “appraisal” of the extent to which
it could be practiced is related with coexistence. We don’t need to
build a laboratory for understanding coexistence. Nor do we need
to raise any wars. Knowing and believing coexistence is necessary
for harmony in relationships. Knowing and believing entails
recognizing and responding. Knowing and believing is of
purposes only. Without knowing and believing, recognition and
response necessarily become listless. For example – humankind
has missed knowing its relationship with Earth and its purpose.
Humankind missed knowing the purpose of environment,
because of which we could not understand the wholeness of Earth

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

and its environment, and as a result humankind ended up
destroying Earth. We need to be very clear that if humankind has
to remain on this Earth, it will need to make a basic shift. This
proposal is for making that basic shift.

Humankind had to live in the purview of sensitivity because of

being deluded, from which human being did not get fulfilment.
An unfulfilled person does all kinds of random activities.
Awakening is about moving from being unfulfilled to fulfilment.
Fulfilment will come from understanding of existence.
Understanding of existence itself is eternal source of fulfilment.
Jeevan never dies. If understanding comes into jeevan, if
fulfilment comes into jeevan then it would continue forever. This
has been realized. On this basis, this proposal says –
understanding is the right of all human beings. Every human
being can explore for understanding. This is what I think.
Humankind builds its own future.

When pranic cells decompose into soil these turn into fertilizer
for plants. Food turns back into food – this is a natural cycle.
Decomposed pranic cells are natural fertilizers. Earth got
instilled with all necessary fertility before humankind could
emerge on it. As soon as humans emerged on Earth, they started
destroying jungles. While destruction of jungles was still going
on, the Science age came and human beings started exploitation
of minerals. Disproportionate exploitation of minerals and
vegetations led to depletion of fertility of Earth. Now the
scientists who think that they do such big service to the world by
making chemical fertilizers, about this my thinking is – the
natural cycle of fertilizer making alone can save this Earth’s
fertility. The rivers carry the things which are not necessary on
Earth’s surface to the oceans. The natural balance can continue

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

only when dense vegetations and forests are there on the surface
of Earth. To solve one problem we humans create another
problem. A problem cannot cover up another problem. A small
problem cannot be covered up by a bigger problem. This is not a
complaint or condemnation. This is a proposal to rethink along
with assessment of the events that have happened.

This proposal in essence is about evidencing the ten activities of

jeevan into human tradition, which in turn is about evidencing
understanding into tradition. It is about human living with
knowing, believing, recognizing and responding. The point of
fulfilment of knowing and believing is called as awakening. This
itself is called as realization. Therefore we can become purposeful
from realization centric way of living.

Another good thing about this proposal is – there is no place of

priest-ism here. It has no such thing like – “I am the only
saviour.” Every person can become liberated from delusion upon
achieving the understanding. Salvation of one person doesn’t
imply salvation of the whole world – that has been seen.
According to this proposal – the one who will understand will
achieve salvation. Our ancient scriptures have many assurances
for salvation, but not even one person could be found on Earth as
living evidence of salvation. That which cannot come into
tradition, is not of any worth. How can we testify if someone in
the past had accomplished or lost a great deal? If there is a way of
becoming resolved then that has to come into tradition. We can
also understand it like this – so far humankind has made lots of
mistakes and crimes, these could not get established in the form
of tradition. Tradition can only be of understanding. Tradition is
only of a human being’s living like a human being. The tradition
of understanding can happen by way of its getting manifested in

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

education. The way of living can happen by way of its getting
manifested in families, society and systems. I too found the way
of my living on the basis of understanding. The way of living that
emerges from understanding is definitely in the form of living in
orderliness.

Without realization of Justice in living a human being cannot

become socially harmonious. Without understanding of Justice
one becomes communal and he cannot become liberated from
argument. Communal divisions have to have conflicts, revolts,
struggles, wars and exploitation. How can we believe that human
being has become socially harmonious while argument, conflicts,
revolts, struggles and exploitation are still there? If struggle
among communities is acceptable then why not allow the wars
and murders for every individual also? Then there should be
freedom for that also. Why keep those things under control?
There is a need to rethink on these. If we internalize this properly
then we discover that whatever we did thus far, in that we could
not achieve success – therefore we became ready to rethink.
Thinking is natural for human being. Every human being can
think and explore. One needs to become satisfied from one’s
exploration and one needs to become a source of satisfaction for
others also.

Now how do we begin from here? The first step is –

accomplishment of understanding. After understanding is
accomplished, embracing the way of living according to that
understanding. The way of living is – how should we live with
Earth, how should we live with plants, how should we live with
other human beings. We can’t leave out anything – we have to
live with all. Every person claims that he can “experience” and he
can appreciate “value” of that which he has experienced. This

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

claim is natural, it is not an imposition – it is spontaneously there
in every human being. It is a need of every human being. When
this source is there so naturally in every human being, how could
we expect that one person will be the saviour of all? It is strange
that all of us have been anchoring our faiths on this kind of
assurances. Now we need to think where we want to anchor our
faith – on assurances or on evidences? From the beginning I
thought that faith should be on the basis of evidences. I got
encouraged to pursue this further, and it is in search of evidences
that I got inclined to rethink everything, and as a result whatever
happened – I am inclined to present it before you. The way seven
billion people have ended up in a deadlock, it would have
happened to me also – it is something you can imagine.

My situation was no different from all other human beings. I

have also gone through the prevalent education, rituals etc.
Despite going through these, my acceptance was neither with
education nor with traditional rituals. My faith could not be
anchored in these. This became the basis for my search for
purpose. My search resulted in two accomplishments. First is –
understanding of jeevan (self). Second is – way of achieving
understanding in jeevan.

We live in the purview of four and a half activities on the basis of

beliefs and faiths. Faith means – believing without knowing.
That which we believe after knowing is called trust. Living with
trust evidences all ten activities of jeevan in human living. I
evidence the ten activities of jeevan in my living, and you can do
that also. Evidencing of coexistence is inevitable. It is in this
course, these atoms, molecules etc become in the form of
orderliness while recognizing each other. The planets,
vegetations, minerals – all these are orderly while evidencing

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

coexistence. In the course of evidencing coexistence, all units are
energized in themselves. Expression of coexistence in units is the
wonderful manifestation of their being energized. All subatomic
particles, all atoms, all molecules are disposed in themselves for
orderliness. This is the main point that inspires human beings for
becoming orderly. In my estimation, every human being whether
he is from science background or from religious background
needs the mindset of coexistence. It is with the mindset of
coexistence that we can become truly human. Anything less
would not be good enough. The forests, hills, minerals etc before
us have expressed their grandeur on the basis of coexistence only.
Their enrichment is from the way of coexistence only. If there
were no coexistence, nothing would have got conserved. The
essence of this is – every single unit is conserved, restrained and
energized in the Omnipotent Space. It is so with pranic cells. The
greatness of coexistence is here as well. It is from coexistence of
one pranic cell with another that they can result in a definite
composition. The composition method remains innate to the
pranic-threads situated in pranic cells. There is continuous
exploration in these pranic-threads for newer expressions. As its
evidence we have many kinds of pranic order compositions before
us. With this evidence we can become assured that there is
continuous exploration in pranic threads and also in subatomic
particles.

Human being has the source of exploration is in the form of

imagination and freewill. The conscious forces (in jeevan) of
thought, desire and conviction are spontaneously devoted for
exploration. It is with this devotion that jeevan can evidence the
greatness of living with all its ten activities. The central issue in
these ten activities is “realization” and being able to live with
“realization centric way”. The source of realization centric way of
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
living is there in jeevan. Jeevan naturally expects realization.
Jeevan naturally expects understanding. Jeevan believes itself to
have realization. Jeevan believes itself to know justice. Jeevan
believes itself to be doing contemplation. The relationships are
spread all over the existence – “recognizing” them and
“responding” to them and as a result achieving “mutual
fulfilment” in them itself is the evidence of knowing justice.

Human being is free in himself whether he wants to achieve

understanding or not. If he wants to achieve understanding then
there is provision in existence for that. If he doesn’t want to
achieve understanding then there is provision for that also – but
result would be different in both cases. Goodness and happiness
cannot result without understanding. In my experience, I have
never wanted to live while being chained with someone, while
imposing myself on someone and while struggling with someone.
In the same way, you also would not want to be chained, be an
imposition, be struggling and no one wants to live while being
stuck. In this way, every human being wants to achieve
understanding to be free from bondages.

Relationship is there all around us. We don’t recognize it, this

itself is the whole difficulty. From the moment we start
recognizing relationship the values start flowing from jeevan. The
moment we “recognize” our relationship, the “values” start
flowing on their own from jeevan, and as a result the expectations
in that relationship get “fulfilled”, and when this gets “appraised”
there is “mutual fulfilment” – and in this way justice gets
evidenced. The relationships are “recognized” on the basis of
“purpose”. The relationship of mother is recognized on the basis
of purpose of nourishment. The relationship of father is
recognized on the basis of purpose of protection or source of

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

protection is called as ‘father’. The source of evidence is known as
teacher. The source of inquiry (want to understand) is known as
student.

It is popularly being said that – we humans should live like good

machines and be proficient in use of machines. Is human being a
machine? Is there anyone who can take ownership for this
statement? I assert that human being is not a machine. Human
being is the maker of all machines. Whatever machines have
been made thus far, they were made by human beings. Therefore
a machine can never overcome a human being. A machine is
always less than a human being - therefore no machine can ever
appraise or study a human being. Secondly, all machines that
have been made thus far are built from material nature (metals,
stones, gems and soils). Human being has not been able to make
any machine from pranic order objects (plants etc). Humans
could not make machines out of plants and they boast that human
being is a machine. How far is such line of thinking appropriate
for human tradition? How can human being achieve all-round
resolution with such thinking? How deep rooted is the belief that
“human being is a machine” or that “human being is a consumer”.
This has been the thinking thus far, while the reality is different
from this. When one lives with one’s child, he can feel that he is
not a machine.

I could recognize human being having cognition ability.

Cognition is combined form of understanding and sensitivity.
When I don’t recognize myself to be having sensitivity then I
become like a machine. So far machine like living could not
achieve any fulfilment. There is no way for us to achieve
fulfilment from working like machines. I invite anyone who can
teach how one can become fulfilled by machine like living. I have

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

listened to those who explain human being in terms of heredity
but they too did not succeed in making me understand. In the
same way, the principles of materialism and relativity have also
been unsuccessful in defining human being. If these three
principles can fully explain human being then we should accept
them. Otherwise human being should be understood the way
human being is. This proposal is for recognizing human being the
way human being is.

Prior to this, there were presentations of idealism – where it was

postulated that “God is the saviour”. I have seen God. God has
no mechanism for becoming a saviour. What is the reality of
God? I have understood God to be in the form of Omnipresent
Space. I have understood God to be in the form of energy from
which every unit is energized. I have understood every unit to be
in coexistence in the Omnipresent Space. What more is left to be
seen about God? If there is anything else that is left then you see
it yourself and show it to the world. You are free to explore
yourself. I have presented before you what I have seen and
understood.

Human potential could not be realized completely, sensitively or

mechanically. Sensitively, we try to understand the world from
the reference of sensory feelings of body. Sensory capabilities and
expectations vary from person to person; therefore sensitivity
based thinking ends up in making a human being individualistic.
On the other hand, mechanical consumerism has to end up in
making a human being individualistic. Third way, which was
shown by our ancestors, is that of devotion and renunciation.
There is no end to individualism here too. The root cause of
failure of all these huge efforts in human history for realizing
complete human potential proves to be individualism.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Individualism contradicts coexistence. Individualism itself is the
cause of fragmentation in humankind. Where would a human
being live apart from coexistence? The simple way of living in
coexistence is to recognize coexistence with other human beings.
When we recognize coexistence with other human beings then we
become able to live in orderliness, we become able to participate
in holistic orderliness – which we will study subsequently. In the
same way, we live in coexistence also with plant-world and
animal-world. If we take something from plant-world, we should
be giving back something also. If we want to take without giving
anything, that would be selfish. Selfishness can only end up in
misery, and that is what is happening. The events of present are
testimony to this. Ascertaining our coexistence with animal-
world, plant-world and minerals-world is necessary for our living
in coexistence. If we are incapable of ascertaining our coexistence
with these, then we are not religious, we are not scientists, and we
are not wise. I.e. neither our knowledge is complete, nor is our
science complete, nor is our wisdom complete. Where will we live
after leaving the plants? Where will we live after leaving Earth,
hills, minerals, animals? We have to live with these only. All
these treasures are there with our being. We humans need to live
with these. These need to continue to be for the sake our
continuity. In the strained relationship between human beings
and rest of the nature - the issue is with human being only.
Human being has lived in misery because of his own delusion.
Now there is a need to turn a new leaf over. There is a need to
become awakened. In the process of recognizing coexistence, I
found that all units are in the omnipresent Space and that is the
first evidence of coexistence. Pranic order evolves from material
order and then it has its continuity and grandeur. In the same
way animal order is also evident as orderliness within itself. How
can human being understand his ‘innate nature’ and how can
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
human being understand his ‘self’ – so that his ‘self’ continues
along with his ‘innate-nature’.

Jeevan Vidya explains the meaning of ‘self’ and ‘innate nature’. I

recognize jeevan as the ‘self’ – which you can also recognize. As
long as we recognize body to be the form of self, we remain
deluded. From the moment I recognize jeevan to be the form of
self, I live in orderliness – which you can also live. Orderliness is
not possible prior to this understanding. This is such a natural
process. The object that understands is jeevan, and the object to
be understood is also jeevan. According to idealism, the salvation
is when the observation, observer and observed reality become
one (non-dual). According to them God alone is the observed
reality, God alone is the observer, God alone is the activity of
observation. On these bases whole lot of literature has been
written. Still how, where and why of God didn’t become clear.
Still human being listens to God centric thoughts, because those
thoughts make one feel good. Though the distance between
‘feeling good’ and ‘being good’ has remained as it ever was. After
this we started expounding that “human being is a machine”, even
if this explanation doesn’t hold good - we kept on telling. We
could not explain God, but we kept on telling about it. In this
way, we have become stuck and are unable to think of anything
that deviates from these two lines of thinking. Jeevan Vidya
presents an alternative line of thinking which postulates that
jeevan is eternal and body is a repetitive occurrence for jeevan.
Body gets formed in the womb. Atom progresses to conscious
status naturally. Body gets formed and deformed repetitively.
Body is a pranic-order composition, which gets decomposed after
certain duration. Human body has the fully enriched brain. On
this basis I am testifying that a human being can communicate his
understanding of entire existence (through his brain) to another
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
human being. That is the whole purpose of human brain, and
nothing more. Human body is the most evolved pranic order
composition, which is the result of continuous exploration in the
pranic threads. If there is anything more left to be evolved that
will also get completed. The main point is what a human being
needs to do during his bodily journey? The answer to this is – we
humansneed to evidence jeevan’s awakening.

As human beings started giving the evidence of their presence, the

sensory impulses from body could not be hidden away. Hiding of
sensory impulses could happen neither on the basis of idealism
nor from the basis of materialism. Idealism prescribed lots of
practices to subjugate sensory impulses. Many ascetics happened
on this Earth who carried out these practices, but a definite
understanding for which humankind is thirsting could not come
into practice of human tradition. What had those ascetics
accomplished or what did they lose through those practices – that
only they can tell. Common public followed them in the hope of
seeing some mystical powers or miracles. Let me make this clear,
there are neither mystical powers nor miracles in existence.
Existence has definite orderliness, definite results, definite
accomplishments, definite milestones and these have continuity.
I have seen this, understood this. We are all candidates for
achieving such a definite milestone for ourselves. Definite
milestone can be accomplished only from a definite method. We
cannot reach that definite milestone for human being while
leaving out the study of human being. Human being cannot
achieve his milestone by commodifying human intellect.
Commodification of human intellect is called as “Intellectual
Property Right”. The biggest organizations of the world and
judicial courts are in the process of accepting it. Jeevan has
inexhaustible forces, how could anyone use them like a
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
consumable substance? Can anyone answer this? Has the
proposal of “Intellectual Property Right” been put forth after
understanding self (jeevan)? How far is this going to be beneficial
for humankind? My experience says that – the forces of jeevan
cannot diminish whatever extent we may use them. This is
something which you can experience, and millions of people can
experience. The more one uses jeevan’s forces, the more fresh
and brilliant they become, day after day. Jeevan’s forces are
inexhaustible and immeasurable – these cannot be bound by a
number. Such efforts would only end up in frustration. This is a
sample of how we become the basis of exploitation and slavery,
due to our own misplaced intellect. In my understanding,
Intellectual Property Right contradicts humanity, it contradicts
coexistence. It is declaring to make a better society while making
intellect taxable, as the basis of exploitation, conflict, revolt and
personal property. Do you think what they are saying is true?
According to me it is completely false. Intellect cannot be
bounded. Intellects of all human beings are inexhaustible and
intellect cannot be contained in anything physical, like books. I
have experienced myself to be bigger than all the books that I
have written. Human being is bigger than any machine. Human
being has written all the books and human being is bigger than all
books. Unless we come to this conclusion, I can’t see how we can
use our sanity. After all these discussions we can accept what is
right. In the course of accepting the final conclusion emerges –
we have to achieve the understanding. There is no difficulty in
achieving understanding. All difficulties are when we work
without understanding.

This Earth is one undivided unit. We have divided it into many

nations. Not just that, we have armies standing around each
division, and we keep quarrelling and fighting every now and
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
then. Earth itself cannot be broken into fragments, if broken then
no one would survive. Are we being truthful while living with the
belief that Earth is fragmented? This is something to think about.
How entrenched are we in our own lies, this is its illustration.

Second illustration is our dividing human being on the basis of

skin colour and caste. What kind of intelligence is this? The
appraisal of a human being happens based on his understanding
and not on the basis of his skin colour or caste. History is replete
with events of its non-acceptance. For example – the revolt of
slave age, the revolt of feudal age. Humankind has transitioned
from feudal system to democratic system, but we have not
succeeded in achieving orderliness on the basis of socialism or
humanism. The lie is in our believing that we have accomplished
something. While all that we have accomplished is – comfortable
living. The wars, revolts, exploitations are still there. Nationalist
thinking is based on the lie that “Earth is fragmented”.
Nationalist constitutions describe “rule by power centre”. “Rule
by power centre” in essence is - Controlling mistakes by more
mistakes, controlling crimes by more crimes, controlling wars by
more wars. Constitutions of some nations also talk of public
welfare. The underlying thinking there is – if all have money then
they can all fight and survive. All of them declare that “life is a
struggle”, that “struggle alone ensures survival”, etc. Are these
declarations true? These declarations are at the root of all lies.
All families, businesses, education etc are buried under these lies.
Some try to escape from these lies, while others remain buried.
Now we want a fundamental change in education.

Understanding is about evidencing all ten activities of jeevan

(conscious being) in human living. Every human being has
acceptance of his being conscious. Every human being says on his

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

own right that he is conscious and that he is alive. But what does
it mean to be conscious? What is the purpose of being conscious?
Who studies one’s being conscious? I have understood the ten
activities of jeevan (conscious being), I have seen them in my
living, these have become evident in me.

Let’s become familiar with the names of these ten activities: -

1. Atma: - This is a ‘part’ of jeevan, which I have seen to be in

the form of nucleus. This remains continuously active as
nucleus of a constitutionally complete atom. All other
activities of jeevan are in the form of first, second, third and
fourth orbits. The nucleus of jeevan atom is in the form of
two activities: - realization and authenticity.
2. Buddhi: - The first orbit of jeevan is seen to be having two
activities as bodh (understanding) and conviction.
3. Chitta: - The second orbit of jeevan is seen to be having two
activities as contemplation and imaging.
4. Vritti: - The third orbit has two activities of evaluation and
reasoning.
5. Mun (mind): - The fourth orbit has two activities of choice
and experience.

Thus far human being has realized four and a half activities of
jeevan in living. Evaluation activity happens in two ways. First is
- from the perspective of pleasant-unpleasant, healthy-unhealthy
and profitable-unprofitable and second - from the perspective of
justice-injustice, religious-irreligious, truth-untruth. Human
being could function on the basis of sensitivity with the
perspective of pleasant-healthy-profitability. Sensitivity is from
sensory activity and it is based on body, while it is jeevan that
keeps the senses alive. The root of delusion of jeevan is its belief
that body is the conscious being. When jeevan believes body to be
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
self (conscious being) then living happens according to body.
This is the basis of believing without knowing. What should
happen instead? The body needs to be believed to be body
(physiochemical form) and jeevan needs to be believed to be
jeevan (conscious being). Jeevan and body need to be appraised
based on their purposes of being. If such an understanding is
accomplished then human being can live like a human being (a
unit of knowledge order). If these are not appraised then disorder
has to result. Orderly living of human being requires jeevan to be
appraised based on its purpose and body to be appraised based on
its utility. The utility of body is for evidencing jeevan’s awakening
in human tradition. Human body is not a product of human
imagination. When human body comes out as an infant, upon
getting formed in a womb, it is already conscious. Since we get a
conscious child from the moment of birth, we start believing that
body itself is conscious. After sometime the infant also starts
believing that way. This is the way entire human tradition is
stuck and to come out from this the parents and guardians will
need to understand this reality.

The body of an infant gets formed in a womb and it is controlled

by some or the other jeevan. Jeevan is there in existence. Jeevan
starts controlling body in fourth or fifth month of pregnancy. In
this way the union of body and jeevan takes place in the womb
itself. Jeevan (conscious being) is not body (physiochemical
form). We can understand this as follows. There is no part of
body that awaits or expects justice, resolution or truth. But we
await and expect justice, orderliness and truth from every human
being. The fulfilment of these expectations is to make all ten
activities of jeevan evident in human living. Jeevan has to be in
body, so that body could be alive.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Jeevan, on its own, starts evidencing the activities of choice and
experience from the infant age. In the evaluation and reasoning –
the evaluation is based on the perspectives of pleasant-
unpleasant, healthy-unhealthy and profitable-unprofitable, and
the reasoning is according to that. Imaging is one activity of
chitta that we do. It is because of imaging activity that we
humans have visualized and obtained all the objects of common
aspirations and higher aspirations. Even after acquiring all the
objects of aspirations we humans have not reached the state of
being orderly. We believe these accomplishments to be the
evidence of our excellence, of our humanism, of human potential
– which we have earned through our struggle and exploitation. It
is amusing to hear this and disappointing as well. How could we
believe that we have realized our potential without having studied
human being? This is something about which we need to rethink.
Whatever they study in biology about human being is about body
composition and its processes. How can we study the entirety of
human being by dissecting him and counting his muscles and
bones? Human tradition is carrying a bundle of lies in the name
of education today. We have not studied existence and we say
that we want to rule the existence. In this way whole human
tradition has got buried under lies after lies. Now there are only
two alternatives – either we should come out or we should die
underneath this burden.

Destiny balances its course. (If we continue on the current trend)

After humankind has made all possible excesses, nature will give
rise to such circumstances that humankind itself will get wiped
out from Earth. We hear the clamour about climate change, they
are doing calculations how many will survive and how many will
perish. Some nations think that their citizens should survive,
others may perish. Some religions think their followers should
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
survive, others may perish. They take the name of some saviour.
Those who believe in their sect would survive and others will
perish. Where is this thinking leading? My thinking on this
matter is that both State and Religion have lost track. The seat of
Religion is not able to give the basis of universality. The seat of
State has no concept of Nation. Without education there is no
evidence of truth in human tradition.

“Save the Nation” is the clarion call. What needs to be done for
saving the nation? The answer comes – struggle. Struggle is all
about conflict, revolt, exploitation and war. Who builds the
material for these four? Nature or Human being. Looking closely
we find it is human being who makes the material for all this,
because of being deluded.

The biggest human made institutions, that have all the power and
resources under their command, are only two – seat of religion
and seat of state. These two institutions have become hollow
because of their continuous engagement in conflicts, revolts,
exploitations and wars. There is no need to mention the seat of
business – which is by definition for exploitation. The seat of
education has no provision for giving guidance about definite
human purpose and direction. Now what should a common man
do? These four traditions (religion, state, business and
education) are not going to be able to provide any guidance.
Therefore a new path needs to be searched and paved – that
would be the only courageous thing to do. That path will be of
understanding, honesty, responsibility and participation.
Struggle cannot lead to a definite goal. Struggle can’t fulfil human
being’s needs. Still we have the tradition of struggle. This itself is
a very big delusion.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Now understanding is the only way out. The verification of
understanding is within self. You cannot achieve understanding
by testing me. When you will test yourself only then you will
achieve understanding. For thirty years (before the start of
sadhana) I kept testing others in vain. I didn’t achieve any trace
of understanding by testing others. When I tested myself after
twenty years of sadhana then I got the anchor of understanding.
Whatever understanding I achieved from these efforts, I want to
handover that to whole humankind. This endeavour is a part of
that effort.

So far you must have got the indication that coexistence itself is
the ultimate truth. Living in coexistence (as universal
orderliness) itself is our religion. Entire understanding is about
this. This understanding is very simple. In my view the lies are
more difficult and living in truth is easier. I have experienced this
in my living. My living was so difficult when it was surrounded by
questions. When I achieved resolution then I became liberated
from all questions and my living became easy. If this proposal
seems acceptable to you then it will only increase my confidence.
Many of my companions have seen this and if you want then you
can verify it also.

Verification is through contemplation. Verification begins from

justice. The first point of verification is – whether I am able to
recognize my relationships? Am I able to fulfil my relationships?
Am I able to appraise the values in these relationships? Is mutual
fulfilment reached or not in my relationships? When we start
verifying on these points then we discover that it is not possible to
find definitiveness from the perspectives of pleasantness,
healthiness and profitability. That which seems pleasant to me,
may not seem pleasant to you. That which seems healthy to me,

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

may not seem healthy to you. That which is profitable for me,
may not be profitable for you. In this way – pleasantness,
healthiness and profitability cannot be the basis of equality. What
should be done for changing this situation? There are three other
perspectives of evaluation which are there in jeevan – i.e. justice,
religion and truth. Evaluation from the perspective of justice
happens with contemplation.

Justice is understood only after “recognition” of relationships. As

a result of “recognition” of relationships, the fulfilment of “values”
starts happening, and “mutual fulfilment” results from fulfilment
of values in relationships – this is known as justice. Justice is that
which can satisfy both sides in a balanced way. If both sides are
not satisfied then it is not justice. Someone asked me, what
should be done if someone makes a mistake? One makes
mistakes or commits crimes because we don’t impart him the
understanding. Why do you want to think about justice from the
reference of crime? Why not think of justice from the reference of
“right” human being? There are many such human beings who
don’t commit any crimes and we don’t have any problem in our
living with them. We appreciate each other and get mutual
fulfilment. How can we do a cover up of that evidence? Do you
have its need or not? I think - all human beings are waiting for
this understanding only. The difference between you and me is
that I took one additional step because of my own pain. I testify
the understanding that I have accomplished. You will also testify
in the same way after having understood. All human beings will
become able to testify after accomplishing the understanding. It
would be so fulfilling, so joyous! It can be achieved through
educational institutions by way of study. What is an educational
institution apart from being a joint expression of all parents and
guardians?
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Education is the activity of giving evidence of what one has
understood. Without having understood it is not possible to
impart education. Educational institutions and all guardians and
parents are responsible for imparting education. Every family is a
miniature education centre. The ideas of unification,
privatization and nationalization of education have neither
worked nor will they ever work. We need to directly see
guardians as institutes of education. This is the only way for
humankind’s salvation. This is the only design of education that
emerges upon achievement of understanding.

We need to become proficient in ability of giving justice. We need

to have the evidence of justice within ourselves. We can do justice
only upon accomplishing these two. We can accomplish these
only with understanding. It is an irony that the judges of judicial
courts today don’t understand justice. Justice is the minimum
need for human living. The evidence of justice is – conduct of
humanness. Justice is not possible for anything less than conduct
of humanness.

Contemplation completes six activities of jeevan. We have done a

lot of reasoning based on perspectives of pleasant-unpleasant,
healthy-unhealthy and profitable-unprofitable. We have done lot
of production of objects of common aspirations and higher
aspirations. Apart from these, the activities such as bomb
making, missile making, warship making etc are of no human
utility. That these activities are meaningless and destructive is
something which can be logically reasoned and also from the past
events. The objects that we produce have to be of human utility at
the fundamental level, at the logical level, and at the behaviour
level.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

We human beings want happiness at the fundamental level.
Human being’s happiness at fundamental level gets manifested in
his behaviour (upon awakening). The reasoning is to make
happiness at fundamental level evident in human behaviour. In
this way a human being produces the evidence of his existence at
reasoning level, at behaviour level and at fundamental level. All
our communication – reading, writing, talking - is based on
reasoning. The successful communication is that which touches
the meaning of fundamental level. My communication is
successful only if it touches the other person at the fundamental
level. If that communication also indicates the meaning of
behaviour by imparting understanding of human being’s
existential purpose (resolution, prosperity, fearlessness and
coexistence), it results in realization of knowledge at the level of
behaviour. The reasoning is needed for imparting knowledge of
behaviour level and also of fundamental level.

The first accomplishment of understanding is that we get the

benchmark for doing appraisal of our own selves and of our
family members. The appraisal starts happening on the basis of
values, on the basis of relationships, and on the basis of mutual
fulfilment. Thereby we can evidence justice in our behaviour. It
is then a man becomes truly a human being. After becoming a
true human being, he achieves self reliance based on his
understanding and gets the following characteristics.

1. Self confidence
2. Respect for Excellence
3. Balance in Talent and Personality
4. Sociability in Behaviour
5. Self Reliance in Occupation

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

I experienced self reliance upon achieving the above
characteristics. In the same way, I became capable to evidence
my understanding and prosperity in my family. It is with this
truth that I have presented myself before you. Every human
being expects to become truthful and justice is the minimum
ability required for truthfulness. I understand justice as
combination of following four activities – recognition of
relationship, fulfilment of values, appraisal and mutual
fulfilment. I understood that every human being is desirous of
justice by birth. By birth, every human being wants to do correct
work and behaviour. By birth, every human being speaks truth.
On this basis, what should be the content of human education?
The education has to fulfil the natural expectation of human being
by instilling the understanding of truth, by providing practice and
methods of doing work and behaviour correctly, and by instilling
the capability of doing justice. If these three can happen in an
educational institute then tradition of humanness naturally
entails. Tradition of humanness is not possible before that.
Tradition of humanness has to start from justice. The main point
to understand for justice is “relationships” - with nature and with
other human beings. A human being’s relationship with other
human beings has continuity and a human being’s relationship
with rest of the nature has permanence.

After a mistake has happened, where does one go for seeking

guidance? It is common to see that the one in family who has
testified himself for justice, gives the guidance. If there is no such
person in family then there may be someone in village who would
give guidance. If there is no one in village then there must be
someone in the country or the Earth. This is the evidence of
natural inclination in human being for seeking justice.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Every human being has the disposition for reform somewhere or
the other. It is quite evident that human beings across the world
want a “change”. What should this “change” be, has not been
clear. This proposal (of Madhyasth Darshan) is for that change.

The universalizing of understanding will happen only through

education system. Education system needs to provision
understanding of humanness so that every human being could
evidence justice in his living. Education curriculum needs to
include the study of conscious aspect (jeevan) along with study of
science. Unless we understand conscious aspect, we cannot
understand existence, and unless we understand existence – how
will we understand what is the existential orderliness? Jeevan
(conscious unit) alone understand the existence. Therefore study
of conscious reality needs to be included in education curriculum.
The curriculum of psychology needs to include the aspect of
understanding, by recognizing human consciousness. Human
consciousness includes both understanding and sensitivity.
Philosophies need to be taught with evidences. When philosophy
is taught with evidences then only humanness based on co-
existentialism can come. Materialism and Idealism cannot be
come – because these have no evidences.

Human being can achieve understanding, and the object of

understanding – existence - is always close to human being.
Evidence of understanding is in imparting it to another. The
evidence of my understanding is in my making other person
understand. The evidence of my having learnt is in making other
person learned. The evidence of my having done is in making
other person capable of doing. There is no fourth way for
evidence. Completeness is mandatory in the aspect of
understanding. It is alright if one is lacking somewhat in the

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

aspects of learning and doing. So far human beings have
accomplished a lot in the aspects of learning and doing, but the
aspect of understanding has remained vacant. We believe
learning and doing is of highest value, but this gave neither any
resolution nor any relief, we kept getting blocked somewhere or
the other. Therefore now there is a need for study of human
being. It is only after the study of human being that evidence of
understanding becomes possible. Idealism and Materialism
somewhere or the other left human being behind in their
pursuits. In its pursuit to understand gods and goddesses,
idealism missed out on study of human being. The pursuits of
materialism omitted human being and made machine as the
evidence of truth. Idealism ended up in making scripture, book
or literature as the evidence of truth and materialism ended up in
making machine as the evidence of truth. In this way, human
being got under-valued and being caught up in delusion, he ended
up becoming complementary to delusion. Human being –
trapped in delusion - became frustrated, suffered and insulted.
Now what is the way for salvation of human being? The
assurance of salvation has been there from all the establishments,
but how long can we go on without having any evidence of
salvation?

Understanding is the basic source for salvation. The biggest

human establishment is education. The education must include
study of conscious aspect along with science. How could the
study of coexistence happen without studying the conscious
aspect? These two aspects have remained untouched in the
educational institutions, in education content, and in education
processes. Secondly, the study of human being requires
understanding of human consciousness in psychology. Therefore,
psychology must include the aspect of sanskar (impressions on
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
jeevan). Thirdly, the study of philosophy should be with
evidences. So far we have believed that one becomes a scholar if
after reading something, one can repeat what was read. While in
reality scholarliness is not that. Scholarliness is with
understanding. One doesn’t become a scholar without
understanding existence, without understanding jeevan, and
without understanding conduct of humanness. This
understanding gets manifested as way of thinking. Way of
thinking gets manifested into plan of action which gets evidenced
in human living. In the absence of this understanding the way of
thinking is centred either on enjoyment and accumulation or on
devotion and renunciation. Millions of people devoted
themselves on the line of devotion and renunciation, and
demonstrated their patience, courage and commitment. Both
these lines of thinking could not give any vision for society.

Humankind has forever been trying very hard, but has remained
aimless and directionless. My endeavour was only for getting
answers to my questions. I had no such aim that I would get
heaven or some treasure. I was with only one resolve – if I have a
question then I have to get its answer.

Let me explain the meaning of the words ‘union’ and ‘fortuitous

union’. The meaning of union is to meet. For example, if we are
going somewhere and we meet with a stone or some other human
being – that is known as union. Fortuitous union is – meeting for
the purpose of completeness. Completeness is – human being’s
living in orderliness. Perfection is – human being’s producing
evidence of truth. Living in orderliness and producing evidence
of truth is natural expectation of human being. In the absence of
not getting this one becomes helpless to what one gets from

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

tradition. Unions and fortuitous unions always keep happening
in existence.

There have been many endeavours to achieve completeness,

while their becoming successful is another matter. Humankind
has sacrificed a great deal for the sake of completeness. These
sacrifices have not gone in vain. It is the last blow that succeeds
in breaking a boulder, but this success is not achievable without
the previous many blows. The success that I achieved is not
without the contributions of endeavours that happened in the
past. I believe that my success is result of contributions of whole
humankind. Its biggest benefit was that I didn’t become
conceited. Very few have come to me among those who express
themselves with conceitedness. Whatever may be the level of
their conceit, after a few steps their conceitedness was seen to be
getting diminished. All my meetings with people from different
backgrounds happened with gentleness and cordiality. Though it
is not compulsory that everyone who met me accepted what I had
to say. Many of them didn’t accept also, and I respect them too.
It is not their mistake. It is the burden of the tradition in which
they are living. Therefore, I live with my happiness irrespective of
other’s accepting or not accepting. Everyone has the seed for
good reason within him, and we can’t say when that seed will
sprout and flower. Every human being has natural expectation of
goodness. I only want to strengthen the possibilities of realizing
those expectations.

Fortuitous unions take place when human beings meet for the
purpose of resolution, for the purpose of orderliness and for the
purpose of undivided society. Fortuitous union is not just from
meeting of two human beings who think alike. For example, the

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

meeting of two thieves is not a fortuitous union because it would
not be for the purpose of resolution, orderliness.

If we can live with justice then our family would be the first place
where the evidence of our living with justice would be seen. We
gain acceptance in the eyes of our family. After having lived with
justice in family, we gain acceptance in all the families of our
friends. After justice becomes our capability thus, we become
able to evidence this capability with them.

Every human being continuously wants his own meaningfulness

and his own success. Our understanding can be the only source
for fulfilling our natural expectation of goodness. We should
never forget this source. Every human being accepts goodness,
every human being wants goodness, and every human being
awaits the evidence of goodness. The evidence of goodness has to
be in human being’s relationships. The recognition of a
relationship is the recognition of its innate purpose. The study is
about recognition of innate purposes in one’s relationships only.
Upon recognizing the innate purposes in one’s relationships, one
naturally becomes committed to fulfil them, and as a result
becomes proficient. This proficiency then gets manifested. This
is the path towards success, which is very straight forward. All
round resolution that comes with understanding remains
connected with all of one’s relationships. The innate purpose of
all relationships is all round resolution – which means, all
relationships are for the purpose of resolution and happiness. It
is for the innate purpose of resolution that we become grateful in
our relationships. It is for the innate purpose of resolution that
we make friendships. It is for the innate purpose of resolution
that we trust in our relationships. Entire human behaviour is for
the innate purpose of resolution and realization of happiness.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

The innate values of human being are: - care, guidance, trust,
affection, gratitude, glory, love, reverence and respect. The
acceptance for any help that we may have received for our all
round resolution is known as gratitude. With gratitude, all other
values start becoming evident, such as – affection, love, trust etc.
You wouldn’t find anyone who hasn’t received any help from
somewhere or the other, in some form or the other. It is from
everyone’s help that a human being grows up, becomes capable,
and realizes himself. The continuity of relationships is only upon
having appraised their innate value. Even before awakening,
those who we behave properly with those who we accept to be
related to us in some way. Traditionally the relationships are
recognized based on physical strength, wealth, intelligence and
age. While relationships are first for all round resolution,
secondly they are for nourishment of body, thirdly they are for
protection, fourthly they are for utility, fifth they are for
realization of good use, and sixth they are for the realization of
purposefulness. The highest priority in relationships is for the
evidence of realization. Evidences of realization satisfy everyone.
The values flow from jeevan on their own upon realization. For
example – the value of trust starts flowing on its own when you
and I meet. In this way, we become capable in recognition of
values in relationships, appraising each other, and realizing
mutual fulfilment. The biggest benefit of this is – instead of fear
and incentive we start recognizing and appraising values in
relationships. Fear and incentive are not of any value. Fear and
incentive are two sides of the same coin. Fear and incentive can
silence the dissatisfaction of relationship for some time, but the
malice remains as it was. The courts of justice also could not
completely realize justice – because fear and incentive cannot
form the basis of justice. For centuries we are living with
compromises on the basis of fear and incentive, but haven’t been
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
able to give any orderliness. We can agree on this that fear and
incentive are not values, nor can they be appraised.

Humankind has not understood values yet. If humans had gone

anywhere close to values, then those must have got manifested,
their appraisal would have happened, and then justice would have
got realized in human tradition. The judicial courts of today do
arbitration and not justice. The arbitrations of courts get
accepted by one side due to fear and by other side due to
incentive. Mutual fulfilment has never resulted from these
courts, nor can it ever. We have been entirely unsuccessful in
achieving justice – still we claim for having progressed. What is
the meaning of this ‘progress’? – you can think for yourself.
Every human being naturally expects to be liberated of all fears
and incentives – this is the way we are, as a result of destiny. The
salvation of humankind is in becoming liberated from fears and
incentives. This would be good for the environment as well. In
this way, the relationships are on the basis of their innate
purpose. The innate purpose is – resolution, prosperity,
fearlessness and coexistence. The path for realization of innate
purpose is – living in orderliness. Living in orderliness means –
participating in all five dimensions of human made systems,
which are: - 1. Education (shiksha sanskar), 2. Justice (nyaya
suraksha), 3. Health (svasththya sanyam), 4. Production
(utpadan karya), and 5. Exchange (vinimaya kosha). In this
way, by living in family and by participating in the five
dimensions of human made systems, we become able to
participate in the universal orderliness. This results in
continuous joy, well being and unshakable courage in human
being.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

After justice, comes religion. Religion means understanding
(bodh) that happens in buddhi, which is resolution. Resolution
itself is human religion. When a human being lives disorderly
then he becomes caught in problems. When a human being lives
in orderliness, then he remains resolved. Human being does not
want problems. Therefore, human being wants to be resolved.
Resolution = Happiness. Human being’s religion is happiness.
Problem = Misery. Human being does not want problems.
Resolution is not possible by use of fear or incentive, still the
whole world is bent on getting resolution through use of fear and
incentive. Even today we teach mechanisms for arriving at
orderliness by use of fear and incentive, while in reality it is not
possible to achieve orderliness from these. At one place
somewhere if some order starts forming based on fear and
incentive, from that very moment the program for its
disintegration also gets started. Therefore, orderliness will
happen only on the basis of values and appraisal of values.
Orderliness at every stage – be it family, industry, administration,
and state – will happen on this basis only. The meaning of
orderliness is that human being becomes able to express his
authenticity (evidence of understanding), can live by justice, and
can participate in that orderliness.

Education is about instilling the essence of understanding in

every individual, every family, and every child. This can be called
as “universalization of understanding”. This understanding has
been presented at four levels. First as holistic-view (Darshan),
then thoughts based on this holistic-view, then code of conduct
(shastra) based on these thoughts, then plan of action based on
these codes of conduct (shastra). One of the plans is – Jeevan
Vidya Plan, which postulates provision for every human being’s
living orderly in the form of a family. The second plan is –
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Humanization of Education. This is about provisioning education
for children. We first experimented with this education in a
school at Bijnaur, U.P. This is an experience of five years. We
observed the effect of humanization of education based on Jeevan
Vidya. It is commonly believed that the environment affects
human being, which I kept denying. If environment is so very
powerful then how could I have succeeded in my exploration?
This school started giving evidences that children started affecting
their families, and these families started affecting their
environment. The children started recognizing themselves as
conscious beings (jeevan) and they started accepting how
important it is to live in orderliness. As a result, many of these
children started appreciating worthlessness of what gets shown
on television etc. Along with this, gradually the incidents of
discords, fights, legal disputes between families started
decreasing. Now as per my knowledge, there are no quarrels in
those villages. This is what I call as the effect of children on
environment, and it is on this basis that I say that this education
has substance.

Humanized Education will have study of conscious aspect along

with Science. Conscious aspect means jeevan. Humanized
Education shall impart understanding of jeevan and its
awakening. It will impart the understanding of integration-
disintegration of physiochemical world. It will impart the
understanding of how this integration-disintegration of
physiochemical world is complementary for human being and
how human being can become complementary for this world.
After this, we shall impart the understanding of “active
participation” in the study of philosophy (Darshan). Active
participation means – the purpose of philosophy (Darshan) is
achievement of understanding in human being. There must be
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
evidence of this achievement of understanding in the form of
human being’s active participation in living. It is with our
understanding, that we human beings form our identity for the
world. Understanding is recognition of coexistence only, and
when coexistence is recognized by human being then only
fulfilment of values entails, and in its appraisal the only mutual
fulfilment entails.

Orderliness in existence is an Eternal Truth. What is the meaning

of “Eternal Truth”? Every unit in existence is orderly with its
innate-nature. For example, an oak tree has oak-ness innate to it.
A peepul tree maintains its conduct of peepul-ness, it would yield
fruits and seeds of peepul only, that is its conduct. In the same
way, the conduct of whole vegetation world and animal world is
definite and these express their respective conducts. This itself is
called as “orderliness with innate-nature”. The conduct of human
being could not become definite until now because human being
has not yet been able to live by the orderliness in existence.
Humankind has come to the point of accepting the need of being
orderly, though it has not yet achieved orderliness. We will need
to live with our innate-nature to achieve orderliness. What is the
innate-nature of human being? Innate-nature of human being is
in the form of conduct of humanness.

Conduct of humanness is described as values, morality and ethics.

The evidence of values is in the form of justice, i.e. recognition of
relationship, fulfilment of values, appraisal and mutual
fulfilment. Values must be there in family. Anything less than
mutual fulfilment is not family and anything more than mutual
fulfilment is not even needed in a family. The members of family
will have to live with values in a spontaneous manner to achieve
mutual fulfilment. Morality is about living in universal social

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

order. Definitiveness of morality in human being has been
recognized as righteous wealth, righteous marital relationship,
and work-behaviour with kindness. Ethics is about right-use and
protection of means of living (body, mind, and wealth), which
results in fearlessness. This is the way conduct of humanness is.
Human being can live very nicely in complete assurance with
conduct of humanness.

The definition of human being is: - “Human being is the one who
materializes ideas and wants mental well being continuously.”
Human being gives physical form to whatever comes to his mind,
for example – making a house, making a machine etc. Human
being wants mental well being – which is, he keeps living in the
hope of happiness. Happiness is the religion of humankind. It is
on the basis of human religion of happiness that conduct of
humanness is understood in the form of values, morality and
ethics. The part of human being’s definition of “one who
materializes ideas” has been realized. Materialization of ideas
happens in two aspects: - first, materialization of common
aspirations (food, shelter and utilities); second, materialization of
higher aspirations (long distance travel and telecommunication).
The second part of human being’s definition of “one who wants
mental well being” – the realization of which would be in terms of
conduct of humanness, is not to be seen anywhere. It is neither in
education nor in legal frameworks. The legal frameworks have no
provision for appraising conduct of humanness. Any legal
framework based on the idea of “rule by power centre” has no
provision for evidencing conduct of humanness, because “rule by
power centre” is not humane. Legal framework based on power
centric ruling cannot provision conduct of humanness at all. This
is the reason, conduct of humanness could not be realized
anywhere. Nowhere could we gather the courage for appraising
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
it, nowhere could we gather the understanding necessary for it.
Without filling these gaps, humankind will not be able to live with
happiness and it will continue fighting. Understanding is the only
way for coming out of this vicious cycle. Humanization of
Education is absolutely necessary for this. Humanization of
Education implies: - inclusion of “conscious nature” in the study
of Science, inclusion of “active participation” in the study of
Philosophy (Darshan), inclusion of “impressions” in the study of
Psychology, and inclusion of “humanness” in the study of History
and Geography. In this way by inclusion of humanness in
education, human beings will have natural tendency of living in
orderliness and of achieving self realization. Thereby human
beings will achieve the state of living with resolution, prosperity,
fearlessness and coexistence. Education achieves completeness
only with humanness, and in no other way. All the talk of
“values” thus far is based on our beliefs or faiths, which don’t
have universality.

Third point is – Truth. What is Truth? Achieving understanding

of existence in the form of coexistence itself is Truth. Orderliness
of existence is understood only after Truth is understood.
Existence is studied only in the form of nature saturated in the
Omnipotence. Nature other than human beings and humankind
are mutually complementary. When the art of living is developed
based on this understanding, it only results in humane order.
When this is understood then we will only live in justice, we will
only live in orderliness, we will only evidence authenticity in our
behaviour in family or we won’t do anything. In this way, we
reach the point of assuredness and abundance – which is
different from what is taught in the Science of today, wherein they
say – all that exists is disorderly and indefinite. As a result of
reading this every student ends up accepting that he is disorderly
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
within himself. As a result he participates in spreading disorder.
The evidence of this is this Earth’s condition. This Earth’s
temperature is rising. What is the root-cause of this? Earth’s
temperature is rosining because coal, petroleum etc are being
extracted from inside it. We all know why this happens. Coal and
petroleum are the only substances which digest the heat in
themselves. When these are extracted then Earth’s temperature
is bound to rise. What happens when Earth’s temperature rises?
The level of sea water starts rising. How much can this level rise?
The place where we are sitting can have two hundred or three
hundred feet high water. Only some peaks of hills will remain. In
this way we have become stuck. The big nations call for jointly
repairing this situation, while it is clear from the history that who
started this. We have used coal and petroleum without
understanding its consequences, which is an excess with this
Earth. Whether these damages will get repaired or not, is
something which can be tested only after these excesses are
stopped. How these excesses will stop, we will talk about it going
further. Human beings live on this Earth in a wide range of
temperature of about 70 degrees, from 50 degrees centigrade to -
20 degrees centigrade. The body temperature of human beings
living under these temperature conditions remains equal. Why is
it so? Human body has those substances which balance its
temperature even if the outside temperature is higher or lower.
In the same way, Earth has petroleum and coal substances for
balancing its temperature.

Now the key issue is how to stop the extraction of coal and
petroleum? One way is – to generate electricity from the flow
energy of the rivers that flow on the surface of Earth. It can
generate 50 times more electricity than needed. We need to make
more effective electricity generators for that. There are some
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
machines which can work only with oil, for those we need to make
engines which can work with vegetable oils. The oil giving
vegetations can be grown on Earth in large quantities. People are
paying attention to solar energy, which needs to be heeded more
closely. There is a need to deploy solar energy for more practical
machines and equipment. In this way, there is provision for more
energy than what is needed on the surface of this Earth. In this
way, when we stop the use of coal and petroleum and in its place
when we start the use of vegetable oils, flow power and solar
energy – then we can test how much this Earth is capable of
spontaneously filling the holes made by human beings. One more
sword that’s hanging on humankind’s head and that is the
situation of water. Whenever the event of water getting formed
on Earth happened, it happened with the union of cosmic rays.
Cosmic rays are the one and only source of this incident of
formation of water. Water cycle is now established as continuity.
With erosion in Earth’s environmental cover, if the same cosmic
rays affect in opposite way then water can disappear from Earth.
The Scientists have figured out the sources for depletion in
environmental cover. It is not enough to repair the damages just
by discovering the causes of damages. There is a need to take
constructive actions. We will need to stop the excesses that are
being done on Earth. We read in papers that the war materials
made from fossil fuels, coal and poisonous gases and liquids have
damaged the security cover of Earth’s environment. If these are
true, then we will need to stop all those activities which damage
Earth’s environment. It is human being, who thinks of repairing
the damages after having inflicted them. This trait is not found in
other living beings. Though humankind has not done anything
for repairing the damages yet. On the contrary, everyday more
and more damage is seen. How long can this go on? When will
we do anything to repair these damages?
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
Earth has kept provisioning humankind’s secure living, while
humankind has kept revolting, attacking and exploiting Earth
with its deluded intellect. Humankind has been destroying
Earth’s environment ever since ancient age. With the advent of
Science the destructive activities increased, therefore we have
become stuck. When someone drowns in a river then possibility
remains of his emerging again. It depends on our thoughts,
whether we want to consider the possibility of saving the Earth or
not. Our thoughts build our circumstances. The circumstances
become conducive if we want. The circumstances become
inconducive if we don’t want. It is because of our own deluded
intellect that we missed understanding the greatness of nature’s
environment. As a result, we got damaged in many ways and we
damaged nature. We rejoice while destroying, while fearing the
possibility of getting destroyed. This is what we have been doing
until now.

Human being becomes inclined to live in orderliness with human

consciousness. This understanding can be imparted from one
person to another – we have found its evidence. We practiced it
in a school. Seeing its good results, we feel the need for
universalizing it.

Human being cannot do any misdeed without incorrect

understanding. According to me, every human being wants good
to happen and every human being is responsible for good.
Therefore, sooner or later human being ought to feel his
responsibility towards good. It is for experiencing universal good
that awakening of jeevan is needed. It is for the formation of a
healthy society, liberated from the vicious cycle of enjoyment and
accumulation, and in place of devotion-renunciation that this
discussion of jeevan’s awakening and understanding has been

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

initiated. The evidence of understanding and conviction that
happens in buddhi happens when buddhi attains the
understanding of justice, religion and truth. When these three
are understood, it is called as “true intelligence”. As a result,
human being accepts the responsibility for universal good. When
existence is understood then eternal presence of coexistence is
understood. We impart this study.

Human beings discovered fragmentation method by use of

mathematics. Fragmentation method was discovered for making
highly powerful atom bombs. The purpose of making atom bomb
can be nothing apart from destruction. The destruction like
Hiroshima and the nuclear tests which were repeatedly conducted
have resulted in colossal environmental damages. These acts
were done by a handful of people, which have left all 700 crore
people suffering. The mathematical method tries to recognize
‘presence’ infinitesimally, in which it doesn’t find any measure of
‘presence’. While in reality – presence of existence is eternal.
There is nothing apart from presence. The entire grandeur of
existence is eternal presence, while fragmentation method denies
presence. Human being will need to trust his own self to emerge
out of the bundle of lies of his own making. As long as human
being trusts weapons, he will not be able to trust another human
being. It is a truth. Human being will achieve trust in himself
only when he understands his own self, and for that justice,
religion and truth will need to be understood precisely. Justice is
understood on the basis of Relationships. Religion is understood
on the basis of Universal Orderliness. Truth is understood on the
basis of Existence. Existence is forever in effect as coexistence.
Apart from human being, rest of the nature is already in
orderliness of coexistence.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Human being too has the thirst of becoming orderly to some
extent or the other. The books of prevalent education cannot
impart the understanding of orderliness. It is only when
understanding of orderliness is achieved that human being
becomes capable of religious living. Human religion means living
in orderliness. Religion of any unit in existence is in the form of
being orderly and participating in universal orderliness. The
religion of material order is existence. The religion of pranic
order is nutrition along with existence. The religion of animal
order is want of living along with nutrition and existence. The
religion of knowledge order (humankind) is happiness along with
want of living, nutrition and existence. Happiness itself is the
religion of humankind. How will happiness happen? Happiness
will happen from resolution. Resolution will come from living in
orderliness. Living in orderliness depends on human being’s
understanding. Understanding is about acceptance of existence,
jeevan and conduct of humanness.

It is upon understanding the orderliness that one becomes

naturally committed for orderly living. It is with this committed
orderly living that we humans can build good circumstances.
Therefore we will need to incorporate humane education, and as a
result the “true intelligence” will arise. There is no other way
which can save this Earth from disaster. We should understand
this message. Its need is there. If we don’t understand it then
circumstances will force us to understand it.

In this way, religious living means living in universal orderliness

and undivided society. I have seen the vision of non-fragmented
humankind from this way. Human race is one. Human religion
is one. Human actions are many. Human being can perform
many kinds of actions for living with happiness. Many actions

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

means – numerous occupations like stitching clothes, making
pots, doing agriculture, and so on. Until human being recognizes
whole humankind as one race, how can he ever do something
good for whole humankind? It is natural for human being to do
many kinds of actions – i.e. occupations. We can accept that
human race is one by recognizing that the purpose of all human
beings is only one – and that is being happy. “Being happy”
means – to be resolved, to be prosperous, to be fearless and to
evidence coexistence continuously. The program for fulfilling
these purposes is built only on the basis of the guiding principle –
“Human race is one, Human religion is one.” The way to
happiness itself is religion (universal orderliness). If orderliness
of understanding can be evidenced in one space and time, then it
can be evidenced in every space and time – that’s the brilliance of
this proposal!

May goodness arise always!

Questions and Answers
Question 1: Are material objects of no value?

Answer: The values of material objects are definite. The value of

one kilo wheat today is same as it was a hundred years back.
When human beings interfered in this process, for example – by
using chemical fertilizers, then value of one kilo wheat only
decreased. The use of chemical fertilizers made the farmers lazy
and stopped making natural fertilizers, and started killing farm
animals to export their meat to foreign countries for the sake of
money. How far is it true? How far would this act be practicable?
How far this act would be good for humankind? The valuation of
material objects is needed for realization of prosperity. The value
of material object is the result of deployment of physical labour.
The use of material objects is for body’s nourishment, protection
and societal movement. All these objects are for human use, and
complete fulfilment is not there without them.

Question 2: What is human religion?

Answer: The extent to which I live orderly today, I can live better
tomorrow – and always living happier than earlier itself is human
religion. It is not possible to be happy with problems. It is
possible to be happy only with understanding and resolution. It is
not possible to cultivate resolution and become happy out of
material objects. Resolution and understanding is integral to self.
It is on the basis of understanding that we can cultivate/build
material objects.

It is not possible that one would lack material objects after

becoming resolved. Resolution includes material objects also in a
definite measure. Definite needs of resolved living are also

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

known as religious needs. We pave the way of evidencing
happiness from this balanced way.

Thus far, the customs of any one community could not become
universal, nor will it happen in future. Universality can only be of
human being’s living in orderliness. Universality has to have
good of all, happiness for all. I have understood how a human
being lives in orderliness and participates in universal
orderliness. My living doesn’t cause trouble to anyone. In this
way I reach the conclusion that as a result of living in orderliness
we humans remain resolved continuously, and we remain happy
continuously. It is jeevan that becomes happy and then evidences
resolution in human behaviour. It is only after the evidence
comes in behaviour that we can accept that human being is
happy.

All human beings want to become happy naturally – irrespective

of their skin colour, physical strength, or material wealth. There
is no variation here. What is the way for becoming happy? Ever
since ancient times, happiness was sought in the bodily
sensations, but those efforts did not succeed. Now (with this
proposal) it becomes clear that happiness in a human being
results on the basis of understanding. Understanding is of
existence and self.

Existence is eternal truth, which neither decreases nor increases.

What is the evidence of this statement? All that is there before us
is in the form of continuous presence. There is no end to this
continuous presence of existence –whether there are all four
natural orders or only one. At the minimum there is material
order. Physical matter continues to exist, it cannot be
annihilated. It is physical matter itself which evolves in the form
of chemical matter – which is also called chemical activity. When
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
two distinct kinds of matters join together, leaving their
respective conducts, to express a third kind of conduct – it is
called as chemical activity. All pranic order objects have got made
because of chemical activities. Pranic cells, pranic threads and
composition method – these all take place on their own from
chemical matter. This happens without any contribution of any
engineer, doctor or scholar of the world. This explains that there
are successive steps of advancement in existence. Human being is
also a step in this progression. If human being doesn’t live in
accordance with its step of advancement, then this Earth will not
remain conducive for human living and human race will get
wiped out from this Earth. Rest of the nature will remain as it is,
but human race will vanish. There is no gain or loss in existence.
The four natural orders continue to be in existence. If all four
natural orders don’t remain on this Earth, they will be there on
some other Earth. What would be bigger folly than humans
thinking that “development” is about making Earth itself
unliveable? Most people believe that the people, nations and
communities which give rise to such obstacles are “developed”.
This is something to think about. It is now very clear that
humankind has become stuck because of its own actions. Now
there is a need to come out. The proposal for coming out of
present situation is there before you, which needs to be
considered. Your involvement is needed for this. Human being
becomes naturally inclined for good spontaneously. When there
is no way seen for good, then he turns to bad. This is a proposal
for good, which needs to be examined.

Conduct of Humanness is in the form of Values, Morality, and

Ethics.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

First - Values flow when relationship is recognized. Fulfilment of
Values is when relationships are recognized, appraised and
mutual fulfilment is attained. This is the way I have understood
Values.

Second - Morality is Universal. Morality is in the form of

Righteous Wealth, Righteous Marital Relationship, and Kindness
in Work and Behaviour.

Third – We are Ethical only when we protect and make good use
of our means of living (body, mind and wealth).

In this way conduct of humanness is a combination of values,

morality and ethics. These three are the bases for living in
orderliness. This is the formula for describing code of human
conduct at all levels of human living – in family, in society, in
systems, in occupations, and with environment. It is the conduct
of humanness only which can become established in the form of
National Character. In the past people have thought about State
based on religious fundamentals and material wealth, but those
ideologies have failed. We will need to seek their alternative. The
alternative proposal for National Character can only be the
Conduct of Humanness. There is a need to experience the joy of
conduct of humanness for once! When we go about elaborating
Constitution based on Code of Human Conduct, we get it in the
form of “Sociology based on Humane Behaviour”. Humane
Sociology needs to be brought into Education. How will a human
being achieve understanding? What will be the grandeur of
humanness? How would a human being with humanness live in
family, in society, in systems – that is sociology of humanness,
which needs to be studied separately.

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Human being can live very nicely while trusting in existential
presence. Existence neither decreases nor increases, therefore
existence can be recognized as eternal truth. Nature saturated in
Omnipotence itself is existence.

Existential presence can never be annihilated. We are dissatisfied

from existential presence due to our own limited intellect. When
we cannot live in existential orderliness of present, we escape to
past or future which becomes frustrating and painful. There is no
reality in existence which could be named as ‘disorderliness’.
Entire existence is orderly.

When a human being makes something, one day it gets deformed

– though the matter from which it was made doesn’t get
destroyed. For example, when a house deforms, we rebuild it.
We have the substance for deploying physical labour. Jeevan has
inexhaustible strength and force, which we deploy for the sake of
body’s nourishment, protection and social movement – which is
termed as ‘prosperity’. Having more than what we need is
prosperity. We may need to use phone once a day, while phone
remains on for the whole day – that is prosperity. We need to go
out once in a day, while we have bicycle available for the whole
day – that is prosperity. We need one quintal grains for our food,
while we grow 20 quintals – that is prosperity. These examples
illustrate - our means are more and our needs are less. We can
experience prosperity in all aspects of our living. Experience of
prosperity is a human need. The purpose of material world is to
make human being experience prosperity. There is only one way
of experiencing prosperity and that is – we produce more than
our family’s needs. When we live with prosperity in orderliness,
there is continuity of resolution. After achievement of
understanding, there is continuity of resolution in self. One

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

doesn’t need to run anywhere for that. Resolution is the basis of
joy in living. The joy is not with problems. In this way –
resolution is experienced on the basis of understanding,
prosperity is experienced on the basis of physical labour, and
fearlessness is experienced on the basis of living in co-existential
order. This is what I have seen, understood and lived – which I
am capable of making you understand.

Justice is becoming capable of living in undivided society and

universal orderliness.

Truth is becoming capable of producing evidence of

understanding.

Being evidence of truth means – I can make another human being

understand, what I have understood. The understanding is of
existential orderliness, justice, and human being. I am among the
successful human beings in this process of understanding.
Authenticity is the result of realization. What is realization? The
fulfilment is not there when we only believe, but do not know.
The fulfilment is not there also when we know, but do not believe.
The (evidence of) fulfilment is in recognizing and responding
after being fulfilled in knowing and believing. Until now,
whatever recognizing and responding we did, we didn’t get
fulfilment, because our knowing and believing remained
incomplete. How will we recognize the point of fulfilment? The
activity of directly perceiving the realities that starts in self
eventually reaches the point of its fulfilment, which is the point of
authenticity. In this way, we become capable of communicating
our realization. As a result, we get fulfilment from
communicating and expressing realization in human tradition.
Realization is the true wealth. If you could also understand then
that is a cause of celebration, and if you didn’t understand then
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
my fulfilment remains intact with me. I can keep on expressing
my realization without its diminishing. Idealism had proclaimed
– “one cannot express realization in words.” On the basis of
recognizing jeevan we understand that – realization is an
inherent activity of jeevan. The evidence of realization is possible
in human tradition only. The activity of evidencing realization
requires no material substance. Evidence of realization requires
only the understanding of existence. The activities of knowing
and believing are within jeevan. The activities of knowing and
believing are not on the basis of sensations in body, therefore
these activities don’t need any material substance. Recognizing
and responding activities are with sensations for participating in
existential orderliness. While recognizing and responding we are
as human beings. Realization has no involvement of mun (mind).
Mun (mind) gets inundated from the joy of realization (in atma).
Mun (mind) being overjoyed from realization tells the world. The
root of joyousness is atma itself. The greatness of atma is the
substance for being joyous and happy. The substance of
realization is there in atma, as a result mun (mind) offers its
joyousness to the world. Even normally, when we accomplish
some large quantity of material, we offer it to the world.
Realization is such a big treasure that mun (mind) cannot contain
it within itself, as a result expression of realization begins. This is
what I have seen, understood and realized. While in the past our
ancestors (idealism) kept saying that realization cannot be
expressed in words. Which of these two should be believed - that
we will have to study. Realization can be expressed in words with
human will. Realization can be evidenced in human living. I am
there before you as its evidence.

After realization, expression of realization is in the form of

evidences in human living. Until now, either sacred book got
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
considered as evidence (in idealism) or machine got considered as
evidence (in materialism). Truth could not be made evident by
books or machines. The machine evidence keeps changing.
Scientists themselves tell that their discoveries may not be the
ultimate truth. Now how do we understand what is final truth,
what is first truth, what is middle truth, what is near truth, what
is far truth? This would become very difficult to understand.
There is truth and there is untruth. Untruth means – human
being’s living in delusion. There is no reality in existence which
could be named as ‘untruth’. We can call our misunderstanding
and delusion as ‘untruth’. Existence is of truth, which is all there
is. Truth neither decreases nor does it increase. There is nothing
like ‘first truth’ or ‘final truth’ – there is only continuity of Truth.
There could be human beings who have not understood truth.
Truth is realized only with understanding of existence.
Understanding coexistence itself is the ultimate truth.

The result of understanding existence is realization that existence

is orderly. When existence is understood to be orderly then
human being becomes naturally disposed for orderliness. It is
after that we understand that religion of humankind is only one,
i.e. living in orderliness. The meaning of human being’s religion
is living in orderliness, trusting existential presence, and being
happy. There is no way of producing evidence of happiness
through the ways of devotion and renunciation prescribed in
idealism. The final point of sadhana in the state of complete
renunciation is samadhi. It is not possible to say whether one is
happy or unhappy in the state of samadhi. Since it is not possible
to testify that state, therefore it is called “beyond happiness or
misery”. You will find the same if you attain the state of samadhi.
Samadhi is a state where there are no thoughts. I have seen that
state myself. The event of samadhi is a possibility, and not a
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
definite process. It is not possible to say who will attain samadhi
and when. How samadhi will happen to a person is also not
definite because there are many paths.

When we start with orderly living then our participation is in

orderliness. If we participate in education system then we
become able to impart education by the method of beneficence.
Education becomes meaningful only by the method of
beneficence and not by the method of remuneration. Education
by the method of remuneration cannot result in imparting of
understanding of truth and reality. I impart education by way of
beneficence. The idea of getting anything material in return never
came to my mind. The material substance is not needed for
imparting understanding. The teacher in the education system
needs to be self reliant and self sufficient. Understanding leads to
conclusion that a human being who is self reliant will naturally be
self sufficient. He will produce the objects of his needs and will be
beneficent.

Every human being has disposition towards being helpful. This

can be surveyed. If we keep strengthening the disposition of
being helpful from the childhood, by the time one become adult it
becomes in the form of beneficence. We need to only provision
this need in education, which alone can make the education
meaningful. Education cannot be made meaningful by making it
mechanical or vocational. When the attention goes towards this,
it is possible to impart education for behaviour, orderliness, and
evidences. Human being has to become the basis of evidences. It
is not possible to make human being social by mechanical or
vocational education. Even if the excesses and misconduct with
other human beings don’t happen, the excesses and misconduct
with Earth are inevitable by these. This Earth has been destroyed

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

because of mechanical and vocational education. As its
alternative – the education of humanness, the education of
behavioural harmony, the education of resolution, and the
education of evidences is needed. This education needs to be
centred on conduct of humanness. Entire literature needs to be
readied for conserving conduct of humanness and making human
being wise.

We have seen that a human being performs the acts of excitement

and anger instantaneously, while he thinks ten times over before
doing any act of resolution, understanding and purpose. It is not
this way in childhood. As one grows old, the tendency of
helpfulness comes under doubt and it keeps shifting lower in
one’s priorities. This causes delay and whatever circumstances
were favourable, they also change. When these circumstances
change, one starts feeling that the Right cannot happen at all.
This is where human being has got landed. On the other hand,
human being expects orderliness. How can orderliness become
available for all, how can it become universal? This proposal is
for making orderliness universal and available for all. Human
being will have to achieve understanding for this. Evidencing
conduct of humanness in all aspects, angles, directions and
perspectives itself is orderliness, from which resolution,
prosperity, fearlessness and coexistence gets realized. It is for
these results that humankind is thirsting and awaiting since ages.

Until now every human being believes that his own needs are
genuine and the needs of other human beings are fake. It is only
due to this reason – one human being exploits other human
being, one family exploits other family, one community exploits
other community, and one country exploits other country.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to recognize and understand

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

human religion and conduct of humanness, and we will need to
gather courage and commitment for its realization in this very life
span. This is called as ‘determination’ - which is commitment for
self realization. This commitment is for orderly living. True
commitment is for living with justice. True commitment happens
only for justice, religion and truth – and for nothing else.

The commitment in prayers, chanting and meditation etc only

reinforces the need for which these are done. These activities
make that need itself bigger. Then comes the commitment for
one’s inquiry. It has been proclaimed that these acts of prayers,
chants, meditation etc are also performed for absolute salvation –
which is believed to be a holy act since ancient times. It has
common acceptance and respect, and many people find relief in
performing these acts. However, temporary relief doesn’t mean
that one could then start living in orderliness.

It is not that I mistrust the practices of prayers, chanting and

meditation – but there is a limit to which these are effective. The
next stage of these practices is becoming desirous of salvation,
which culminates in Samadhi, where there is nothing to be gained
or lost. In this way, I concluded that orderliness doesn’t arise
from the paths of devotion and renunciation. How should a
human being live? The Art of living with Humanness is about
living with Resolution, Prosperity, Fearlessness and Coexistence.
I have lived thus, such living is meaningful, and you can live this
way as well. I have reached the conclusion that every human
being has the need to evidence this understanding in his living.
Meaningful living is acceptable to everyone. Everyone wants to
live meaningfully. Conduct of Humanness is meaningful for
human race. Every single unit in existence has inherent
inclination to be orderly, which itself is its religion. Human being

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

also wants orderliness in his living and therefore humanness is
acceptable to every human being. Living with humanness itself is
the evidence of our awakening. When I evidenced conduct of
humanness in my living, I understood that humanness itself is my
innate nature, humanness itself is the greatness of my being, and
this joyousness started flowing continuously. I understand, entire
human race is thirsting for humanness. Humanness is innate
nature of human being, which is inescapable for human being. If
not today, tomorrow humankind will arrive at this place.

Every human being has such a big treasure of humanness innate

to himself in the form of possibility. Every human being
evidences it based on his desire, need and joyousness. This
innateness is common to every human being. If only one person
could be orderly with understanding and others could continue
living mechanically then this desire and need of happiness would
not have been there in all human beings.

The one in the seat of power could not achieve happiness,

freedom and self reliance. The ones who look up to those in the
seat of power also could not achieve happiness, freedom and self
reliance. In this way we discover that all of us are still empty
handed. This emptiness can be filled only with humanness, which
is innate possibility in every human being. Education of
humanness is the only alternative for humankind’s awakening.
My endeavours towards this is expression of my own joyousness,
it is not for obliging others. The realization gets manifested as
conviction of understanding. It is on the basis of conviction of
understanding that one wills to express and communicate one’s
realization, to evidence one’s understanding in one’s living. I
evidenced in my understanding in my living and found that it is

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

necessary for all human beings. Having realized it, I presented
the plans of action.

The first plan of action is “Jeevan Vidya Yojna” – which explains

the potential of conscious unit (jeevan) from contemplation till
understanding. The conviction of understanding gets manifested
in imaging. Until now human imagination has been devoted for
sensitivity based living, which instead becomes devoted for
authentic living with conviction of understanding. Authentic
living is with beneficence. When we go about manifesting this
understanding in our living along with our common and higher
aspirations, we evidence resolution and prosperity as self reliance
and we become capable of beneficence. We can’t hide capabilities
of understanding and realization anywhere after achieving them.
The capabilities of understanding and realization naturally
become devoted for beneficence. Beneficence makes our common
and higher aspirations limited (definitive). This includes the
understanding of natural cyclicality based economics. Human
being can understand it, or it gets into human understanding
upon awakening. In this way, with cyclicality based economics we
become devoted for religiousness. Religiousness is manifested in
human behaviour, production activities and human made systems
– including education. In this way, a human being has the
possibilities of devoting himself for purposefulness all around
him and the method for using those possibilities comes
spontaneously.

At present after one becomes literate, or becomes able to read and

write, he slowly starts turning away from production activities
and starts thirsting more and more for enjoyment and
accumulation. While if we try to imagine in awakened orderliness
with the way of humanness, we find that human being’s needs of

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

common and higher aspirations become limited, and few means
become sufficient for our needs. It is in this way, imagination
becomes realistic. In this way, we become able to imagine our
living in existential orderliness by the greatness of our own self,
as a result continuity of happiness gets realized. In this way, we
arrive at all systems, laws, methods and principles for all
dimensions of living for the whole life time. It is with this, the
purpose of human imagination is understood. The purpose of
contemplation is to directly perceive justice, religion and truth.
The reasoning based on this imagination is also purposeful. The
choices are also purposeful, and then values are experienced.
Values are in the form of jeevan values, instilled values,
expression values, and material object values.

The value of a material object remains constant continuously. For

example – whatever value (utility) that one kilo grain has, it
continues to be forever. In the same way, the value of all material
objects – like medicines, rice, wheat, vegetables – remains intact.
Value of a material object is its utility. Thereafter human beings
can add artistic value in material objects by way of production.
Artistic value is meaningful only with utility. This is the way we
perform reasoning, whereby we become useful, meaningful and
artistic. The values of jeevan are known by the names –
happiness, peace, contentment and bliss. These are names of
state of harmoniousness in jeevan. Happiness is from harmony in
mun and vritti. Peace is from harmony in vritti and chitta.
Contentment is from harmony in chitta and buddhi. Bliss is from
harmony in buddhi and atma. This describes the harmony of
jeevan. When we live in a realization centric way then harmony
in jeevan becomes natural. Harmony is natural expectation,
accomplishment and meaningfulness of jeevan. When jeevan
starts experiencing joy of values in human living, those get
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
recognized by names such as – trust, affection, gratitude, etc.
When the relationships are recognized for their purpose then
these values start flowing spontaneously from jeevan. For
example – when a mother recognizes her child then the value of
care naturally starts flowing from her. One doesn’t need a five
year plan for making this happen! There is no need to explore for
values or accumulate them. Values are innate in jeevan and they
flow when relationships are recognized. The recognition of
relationships is for the purpose of family, for the purpose of
society, for the purpose of orderliness and for the purpose of
coexistence. The relationships are anchored in these four. There
is a need for our becoming proficient in this understanding. The
extent to which we become proficient becomes the extent to
which we become able to present evidences and purposefulness in
our living. In this way we start experiencing values in our living.
Jeevan appraises values that flow from itself. The value in
material objects is spread all over – while jeevan values, human
values, instilled values are innate in jeevan (in us), and jeevan
appraises them naturally, without any need of external
instruments. Self examines self, from self and for self. It is such a
natural and great process! All human beings have this need.
There is a need of a definite way for making this possibility within
reach of all human beings. That definite way is education. The
subject matter of such education would be principles of nature,
restraint in nature, balance in nature, and justice in humankind.
Jeevan attains awakening as a result of such education and
becomes capable of recognizing relationships. Happiness is
achieved as a result of human being’s recognizing relationships
for their purpose. This is the way ‘experience’ activity of jeevan is
fulfilled. Then comes ‘evaluation’. The evaluation in animals is
from the perspectives of pleasantness, conduciveness and
profitability. The way of evaluation in human being is – justice,
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
dharma (resolution) and truth. These are the reference points
which need to be understood and accepted. The moment we
accept these, we start endeavouring in this direction. Until now
whatever human being did in the name of education and values
has remained on the basis of sensitivity, which could not be
complete, therefore could not get established in the form of
tradition. Therefore the evaluation of pleasantness,
conduciveness and profitability perspectives need to dissolve in
the perspectives of justice, dharma (resolution) and truth. This
dissolution would be in the form of – justly pleasant, justly
conducive and justly prosperous. The perspective of justice
replaces profitability with prosperity. Production by way of
justice ends up in prosperity. Production by way of accumulation
ends up in exploitation. Exploitation damages our selves along
with the world. This needs to be studied and accepted with
precision, and there is a need to instil strong commitment in this
understanding. It is for this that we need education of
humanness, from which every child will become self reliant and
will acquire following six qualities: -

1. Self Confidence
2. Respect for Excellence
3. Balance in Talent
4. Balance in Personality
5. Sociability in Behaviour
6. Self Dependent in Occupation

A self reliant human being thus will naturally evidence resolution

and prosperity in his family – as a result, the definition of society
and orderliness emerges on its own. Family is the starting point
of society and orderliness. I have seen this, it gets thoroughly

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

manifested. After this comes the orderliness. Orderliness
emerges and flows on its own after understanding.

Every parent/guardian imparts some understanding to his

children. Thereafter educational institutions teach something.
Thereafter the seats of State and Religion teach in their own ways.
Whatever education we got from these, did not result in our
becoming truly human. Now all our thought, our entire
endeavour, all our evidence is for our becoming truly human. So
that tradition of humanness can happen. The benefit of this will
be “balance in environment” and “justice in humankind”. Living
with justice is living in orderliness. It is not really difficult. Only
human being needs to feel its need. Whatever humankind has
done thus far has been on the basis of sensations, from which we
will not achieve what we really need. It is from such living only
that Earth has been damaged and humankind has become
corrupted. Therefore, if humankind is to achieve continuity of
well being then it will have to recognize humanness. Human
beings will have to live in orderliness of humanness and that has
the possibility of continuity. At present the main concern is that
the crimes towards environment should stop.

The Orderliness of humanness is in the following five dimensions:

-

1. Participation in Education (shiksha-sanskar)

2. Participation in Justice (nyaya-suraksha)
3. Participation in Production (utpadan-karya)
4. Participation in Exchange (vinimaya-kosha)
5. Participation in Health (svasthya-sanyam)

Participation in these five dimensions itself is known as

participation in orderliness. Such orderly living emerges and

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

becomes evident from every human being upon awakening. This
completes the brief overview of orderliness of humanness. Every
human being with good reasoning can accept it.

Until something is understood it is called as research or

exploration. You already know how any accomplishment from a
research or exploration gets universalized through education.
Universalizing this accomplishment (of Madhyasth Darshan) is
the foremost task. The teachers who will work on universalizing
this will be proficient in behaviour, reasoning, wisdom and
science. Proficiency means having understood, as conception of
knowledge. After having understood, every human being
becomes an evidence of knowledge with his own disposition, his
own endeavour, and his own need. Every human being has innate
need of living with authenticity. When you will feel that
authenticity (evidencing knowledge) is absolutely necessary, then
how will you remain quiet? You will then become the evidence of
knowledge as well. I have accomplished this understanding by
way of exploration, but those who will accomplish it from me will
do so by way of education. After study is completed, one takes
responsibility with understanding. After understanding,
evidencing that understanding naturally entails. When we
become inclined for evidencing some aspect of understanding and
go about telling it to the world, it is then we achieve its
realization. It is only then we become able to impart that
understanding to others. In this way, every human being will
impart understanding only after having achieved realization.
Mere repetition of words won’t impart understanding. There are
exceptions though. Some person who is very proficient in
speaking, but hasn’t achieved realization, could convey the
message to others. That is what has happened thus far in human
history. After listening to some words, we accept and start our
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
journeys of exploration. This was the way I started my
exploration as well. However in my view - most people will study,
achieve realization, and will produce evidence of their realization.

Question: - What is your view about the common man

caught up in the prevalent traditions?

Answer: - You have used two words – 1. Prevalent tradition, 2.

Common man. I understand prevalent tradition to be under four
heads. 1. Seat of Education, 2. Seat of Religion, 3. Seat of State,
and 4. Seat of Business. These are the four cornerstones of
prevalent tradition. Every individual goes through these systems
sooner or later. In my view, all these dimensions of prevalent
tradition have become thoroughly destroyed. They have nothing
to offer to their followers. What they claim is another matter
though. They claim to provide paths of human
salvation. However, we could never see anyone who has achieved
salvation through these systems. On the contrary, those who
promise salvation are seen to be drowning in the same waters. It
is on this basis that I say that all prevalent traditions have become
rotten and useless. If there is any source of meaningfulness left
then that is common man. I have studied that every human being
has more than 51% of meaningfulness. Human being can be
reformed. Prevalent traditions cannot be reformed - these will
need to be replaced with a new tradition. There is no substance in
prevalent traditions which could be reformed.

Tradition of Education and State will continue, whether they are

meaningful or meaningless. For example – at present the essence
of today’s State is Rule based on National Constitution; which
essentially is about ruling based on power centre – which in turn
means – stopping one mistake by making another mistake,
stopping one crime by committing another crime, stopping one
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
war by raging another war. How will human being reform
through these acts of controlling? The more we try stopping
crimes and wars, the more they increase. Business is addicted to
exploitation, which it can’t leave. Religion is addicted to giving
empty assurances and commanding respect. These assurances
are in the form of expiating the sinners, turning one who is selfish
into generous and turning one who is ignorant into knower.
There is no evidence of fulfilment of these assurances. Human
race until now has kept thinking - “I am wrong, tradition is right”.
Here I want to open the eyes of human being and not the eyes of
tradition. I have nothing to do with the prevalent traditions. I am
a human being and I am concerned with human beings.

Question: On one hand you say that traditions are

rotten, on the other hand you say that common man who
is product of same traditions has more than 51% of
meaningfulness. What do you mean by being
meaningful?

Answer: The four seats of tradition that I mentioned, those sitting

in those seats have no inquiry for getting reformed. Those who
are occupying these seats and the documented frameworks of
these seats don’t have any basis for inquiring for truth. On this
basis I say that prevalent traditions have become rotten. While
every human being has inquiry of knowing truth to some extent
or other, on this basis I claim that human being has more than
51% of meaningfulness.

Question: You have talked about progress. At present

we term building of roads, getting electricity, increase in
income etc as ‘progress’. What do you mean by
‘progress’?

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Answer: - At present even a jail getting made in every district is
also called ‘progress’! A shining house is also called ‘progress’! I
don’t have big disagreement with that, since whatever material
means are needed for common and higher aspirations of human
being, these get incorporated there. However there is a need for
social consciousness while using these. The thinking that “human
being is a machine” will only lead us to mistakes and crimes.
Human being has the need of the understanding of society,
behaviour and orderliness somewhere or the other. The proposal
of “Jeevan Vidya” is to fulfil this gap. Thereafter there is proposal
of “humanization of education”, and after this is the proposal of
“family rooted self organized orderliness”. The basis of these
three proposals is – we can have sustainable living only when we
minimize our damages to Earth. Where will human being live
after having destroyed Earth. The evidence of human being’s
progress is his being able to realize resolution and prosperity in
family, his understanding all human beings as one race, and his
being able to live that way in society. This is what I call human
being’s progress or awakening. This is what I call sociability in
behaviour. What is understood as “progress” at present could not
achieve happiness. For all round happiness – resolution,
prosperity, fearlessness and coexistence, all of these four are
needed. Happiness will be unachieved without these.

Question: - Darwin postulated evolution principle (of

Natural Selection) which has a widespread acceptance
even today. What is the distinction between your
postulation of evolution from that of Darwin?

Answer: - Darwin’s presentation talks of evolution based on

structural composition of body. For example: - body composition
of an insect, a leech, a horse, a cow – and in the same way human

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

body composition. The body compositions were studied based on
the skeletal structures. Evolution was explained in terms of how
the bones became longer or shorter, wider or narrower in bodies
of animals. Here human body was considered as reference and
all other body compositions were chronologically linked behind it
as course of evolution. Darwin’s postulation about body
composition has some difficulty, but his presentation about
human being is completely wrong. According to Darwin,
monkeys successively transformed into humans and many
intermediate life forms happened in this course of evolution,
which eventually perished. While according to me, the evolution
of human body happened as a result of exploration in the pranic
cells in the womb of some or the other enriched brain animal with
the purpose of establishing the tradition of a body composition
through which jeevan could evidence its awakening. According to
Darwin, the circumstances of environment and habitat forced
these events of uncertain body compositions. Darwin did not
have the understanding of jeevan (conscious unit). He has not
given any postulations from the reference of jeevan. Human
being is a combined form of jeevan and body. Thus far evolution
has been searched in body, in skeletons, and there are Nobel
prizes, degrees and jobs based on these. The reference of those
evolution theories is human body. If these theories are correct
then humanness should have got realized along with human
body's evolution , but that has not happened. Human being
cannot be explained in terms of body alone, in terms of skeletal
frame. As its evidence, Darwin himself has written that – I myself
don’t get described in the framework of my bone
structure. Darwin was incapable of giving definition of human
being. He called evolution to be improvement in composition,
while in reality the reference of evolutionary progress is
jeevan. Body cannot function in the absence of jeevan. The one
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
which keeps the body alive is jeevan itself. Human being is
neither just on the basis of jeevan nor just on the basis of
body. Human being is on the basis of both jeevan and body.

The evolution in atom is in terms of constitutional completeness.

Every atom has a constitution with more than one particle. Every
atom has to have a nucleus and orbiting particles. Such atoms are
naturally there in existence, having two or more particles
constituting them. There are many kinds of atoms, and among
these is jeevan atom. There is no increase or decrease in the
number of particles constituting a jeevan atom, therefore it is
with inexhaustible force and strength. This itself is evolution in
atom. Jeevan atom is being called as ‘evolved’, and awakening
happens after this evolution. The evidence of awakening is –
knowing, believing, recognizing and fulfilling. An atomic particle
recognizes other atomic particle, and that is how these become
orderly together by being in definite distance from each other –
which becomes evident in the form of physical and chemical
activities of nature. The most evolved composition of chemical
activities is evident on this Earth in the form of human body.

Question: - You had met the Chief Justice of India – Sri

Venkatachalliah – in Delhi, and you had asked him
about universal justice, for which he did not have
answer. Justice is one thing in India and another thing
in Pakistan. Within India also, justice means different
things for Hindus and Muslims. In this way, there is lot
of confusion about justice. You have said that justice
gets realized in family, while we think justice gets
delivered in courts. Kindly clarify this.

Answer: - The formula for justice is – Relationship, Values,

Appraisal and Mutual fulfilment. Appraisal and mutual
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
fulfilment in relationships is very much needed. Human being is
related with material and conscious nature – whether you
recognize or deny this relationship. For example – human being
is related with the air in which he breathes. You cannot make
something which is not related which is not related with
environment, which is not related with human being in some way.
All these relationships are found to be there in a family.
Arbitration happens in the courts, not justice.

Question: - Your entire postulation is based on

existence. You have said that entire existence is in the
form of “Nature in Omnipotence”. You claim that the
Omnipotence is present at the places where units are not
there, and it is also present at the places that are packed
with units. Please explain this.

Answer: - Omnipotence can be understood easily. It is the Space

– which has been given many names. What is the reality of
Space? All units are capable of being inspired from Space. How
does this inspiration happen? Does Space push units into action?
The prevalent science claims that all activities of nature started
from the push of the Big Bang. There is nothing in Space that
could push. It has no pulse, no motion and no pressure. So there
is no question of its pushing anything into action. Every unit is
energized and inspired in the Space – as evidence. Space is
present at all places. Every unit is submerged and encircled in
this pervasiveness. The distinction in units means the presence of
Space between them. If the Space were not there, the units could
not be separated from one another. Also the units join with each
other, because there is Space between them. In this way, Space is
the basis of composition (joining of units) and decomposition

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

(separation of units). Units are continuously active because of
their being energized in Space.

First there are objects seen in the form of units. They occupy
Space to the extent of their area. The areas could be different for
different objects. It is not possible to tell the area of Space,
because it has no limits.

According to materialism, Space is not present where units are

present – which implies, units displace Space. Therefore units are
believed (in materialism) to be mightier (heavier) than Space.
While in reality, all units are in the state of zero attraction. Earth,
Sun, Solar System, galaxies – they all are in the state of zero
attraction. The state of zero attraction means that units and
Space do not express weight (heaviness) towards each other in
their mutuality - while the expression of weight (heaviness) is
clearly there in the mutuality of units. For example, two atoms
express weight towards one another in their mutuality, because of
their tendency to form a molecule. In the same way, molecules
express weight towards one another because of their tendency to
make a composition. The gravitation force among units to
express weight in their mutuality is for the purpose of
participating in evolution or for participating in holistic
orderliness of nature. A stone when dropped from a small
distance within Earth’s environment falls back to Earth itself. It
happens on the basis of the innate tendency (orientation) of
evolution in that stone. At the time when this tendency gets
expressed, we call it gravitation. With these examples we
understand that all units are continuously active. The evidence of
permeability of Space is continuous activity, restraint and
forcefulness in every unit. Irrespective of where a unit is located
in existence, its restraint, continuous activity and forcefulness

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

remains as it was – this is also an evidence of permeability of
Space.

Question: - You have postulated that infinite units of

nature are immersed, encircled and soaked in the
Omnipotence, and these get reflected on one another
from infinite angles. Please explain this.

Answer: - The formula here is – every unit is with infinite angles

in itself. Each of the infinite angles from an object gets extended
in one direction or the other in a straight line, and on that line
that object remains reflected. Every such angle ends up into some
object or the other somewhere. Therefore, the place where the
angle meets another object has the reflection of first object over it.
This mutual reflection and recognition evidences the fact that the
objects are lighted. Light is innate to objects and its evidence is
objects are lighted. In this way, infinite angles with every unit are
for the purpose of its being lighted. I understand that you are
lighted because of your reflection on me.

Question: - Today everyone in the world is in a rat race

of profit in occupation, even through education – which
you have termed as ‘profit mania’. Where will we find
solution of the social, economic and environmental
imbalances that have resulted because of this mania?
What is the alternative for the rat race of profit?

Answer: - If anything fails then we can try again for becoming

successful. Humankind has become stuck being in the absence of
any purpose and direction. Without having purpose and direction
there cannot be any definitiveness in planning and execution.
Execution can have definitiveness only when the purpose (goal) is
stable and direction is definite. In essence, it would be in the

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

form of mutual agreement (harmony) in wisdom (answers of what
and why) and science (answers of how). If we go about
identifying the purpose (goal) of the profit maniac economic
system of today, we will find that it is – Accumulate, Enjoy and
Consume. These goals can never be stable. The point of
satisfaction of accumulation and enjoyment does not exist. Not a
single person, among the 7 billion humans, living on this Earth
can be found who has found the point which has fulfilment of
accumulation and enjoyment. Nor can anyone achieve that point
and evidence it in living. This itself evidences the lack of direction
and purpose of current economic system. If our purpose and
direction is definite, then our planning and execution also
becomes definite. I have called it a mania, because fulfilment is
never there in it despite endless strife. I have seen this strife and
perhaps you can see it as well. This strife keeps on increasing, it
never decreases. How will we accomplish any purpose by
increasing strife? At what point will be find fulfilment? Even if
we manage to accumulate something, it gets deployed for
consuming more and more and it has no other destination. Thus
far no one could achieve fulfilment through consuming. If this is
not a mania, then what is it?

Who will rescue if all 7 billion of human population becomes

maniac like this? This exploration is for answering this question
in the form of universal good, definitiveness and continuity. All
this itself is the result of this exploration. Economic order is a
part of this vision.

The means of economy are in the form of body, mind and wealth.
Body has to be. Mind has to be. Wealth has to be. Economics
cannot be envisaged while leaving out any of these three. While
the current theories call the currency to be the means of

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

economics. Currency is of two kinds: - (1) metal currency and (2)
paper currency. Paper currency gets printed in a printing
machine. With printing technique becoming common - fake
notes have also become common. Entire economics of today
therefore is nothing but techniques of minting coins and printing
notes. Whatever amount of metal or paper currency we may
have, if we can’t get the desired objects from it – it is of no use.
Money is only a symbol, and not the object of need. It is the
object of need which gives satisfaction, not the symbol. It is sheer
madness for us to assume that we have achieved the objects of our
need by just amassing symbols. To remove this difficulty, the
means of economics here are recognized as body, mind (jeevan)
and wealth. Here wealth means – objects of common aspirations
(food, shelter and utilities) and higher aspirations (television,
telephony and long distance travel). If means of economics are
recognized this way, we will realize ‘usefulness’ of wealth in place
of its ‘accumulation’. For example, the grains start rotting after
storing them for 2-3 years. In the same way if a machine stays
unused then it starts rusting and disintegrating on its own. In
this way all machines are also for the purpose of ‘usefulness’ and
not for ‘accumulation’. There is a limit to which we can
accumulate these, their usefulness only becomes inevitable. In
this way all objects can be deployed for usefulness, good use and
purposefulness.

I have observed precisely that mind (conscious aspect) is

necessary for doing any production activity. After mind, body is
necessary. Every production is done with both body and mind.
In this way, we can clearly accept the following concept: – objects
of human need means wealth, which is to address common and
higher aspirations of human being. The benefit of this is to begin
turning humankind’s mindset towards production. The modern
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
economics undermines production and discourages human
tendency to do production. Specialisation destroys production
tendency even more. The one who doesn’t do any production and
wants to consume the most is considered as “developed”. This
turns into strife, conflict, revolt, exploitation and ultimately war.
This is the way humankind has been stuck. Now there is a need to
become free from this trap. I have achieved that freedom. I don’t
need to exploit anyone, nor do I need to oppose or conflict with
anyone. I do more production than the needs of my family. You
can also do it. The need (measure) of production is ascertained
definitively only in a family. An individual alone cannot
determine this need nor can the world (other people). We
experience prosperity upon doing production in excess of this
need (measure). This necessitates study of a new kind of
economics, i.e. “The Economics of Natural Cyclicality”. I have
formulated and presented it to the world in Hindi language. If it
gets accepts by the world, it will be an act of great beneficence.
The postulations here are not going to harm any individual, any
family anywhere. It is only meant for beneficence to the world.
We need to be liberated from the vicious cycle of antagonism,
revolt and exploitation. The shrewd ideologies of economics
which we are following at present will never lead to peace and
harmony. Orderliness based on natural cyclicality is needed for
peace and harmony. When we devote our means of economy
(body, mind and wealth) on natural abundance, then the
produced objects lead to nourishment of body, protection and
society’s advancement. This nourishment of body, protection and
society’s advancement in turn becomes the basis of doing
production again. In this way it becomes cyclical. The objects are
produced when human beings devote labour along with the power
of ideas. The freedom from strife is only when we are able to
produce more than our (definite) needs. We humans have forever
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
been thirsting for fulfilment and happiness, therefore we have
been search the path for fulfilment and happiness, and when the
search results in discovery of such path, we accept it also. It’s not
about ‘giving up’ something. It is about reforming wrong into
right. It is about reforming crime into justice. It is about
reforming war into coexistence. It is about reforming antagonism
into collaboration. It is about reforming revolt into friendliness.
These reforms are acceptable to us. You ask everyone of the 7
billion people on Earth – whether we should antagonise, revolt,
exploit and war or not? Everyone will say that we should not. I
think nobody is ready for continuation of strife. Economics of
natural cyclicality can liberate humankind from this strife. The
way a madman is with an innate desire of becoming sane, in the
same way – this economic system maniac for profit is with an
innate desire of economic order of natural cyclicality. It is about
awakening what has been innate. Human being has innate
expectation of goodness, which only needs to be kindled.
Economics of Natural Cyclicality is meant for this kindling. Its
basic principle is – “Production based on deployment of human
labour. Exchange based on measure of human labour.” We need
to produce and exchange all the objects of common and higher
human aspirations with this principle only. Economic order of
Natural Cyclicality alone has eternal continuity (is sustainable),
natural, destined and aligned with coexistence principle.
Therefore we should do its complete study, bring it into our living
and become source of fulfilment of others after becoming fulfilled.

Question: - Karl Marx prophesied Dialectic Materialism

upon seeing the inequality and discord among human
beings, which is called as Communism. It was
envisioned here that the inequality among human
beings will be overcome by a political change based on
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
this communism. Two third of the world accepted
communism in the last 70 years and some serious
experiments were carried out based on this ideology.
Millions of people suffered atrocities in the hope of
bringing that “heaven of equality” on Earth. Now we
have seen that Communism has failed miserably - at
least its experimental form. These experiments have
proved that conflict cannot become the basis of
humankind’s happiness. We have often heard you talk
about “Behavioural Humanism” – which you say, can
dispel inequalities and discords among human beings
and can take us till resolution. Kindly clarify and
explain this.

Answer: - Dialectic Materialism postulates that the working of

this world is from tussle among its constituent units. It is
illustrated as follows: – your force pushes me into action and my
force pushes you into action, and that’s how both of us keep
functioning. Eventually, as a result of this tussle, either both of us
progress, or one of us progresses and the other gets destroyed.
This has been its line of thinking. Accordingly, the mighty one
alone is worthy of living and the meek one is unworthy of living.

In my view, there is no tussle in existence. I have seen how each

unit in existence is forceful (due to being continuously energized
in the Omnipotent Space). A subatomic particle is also forceful,
so is an atom, a molecule, a molecular composition – all these are
forceful (due to being energized in Space). All these units are
capable of being mutually complementary through give and take
– and that’s how there is advancement for completeness (in units
of nature). This Dialectic Materialism could not have been
written with understanding of existence. It is out of our own

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

delusion that we end up thinking that only we will live and
everyone else will parish, only our religion will prevail and all
other religions will parish, only we will live and rule on this Earth
and everyone else will die. We hear these cries of vanity every
second day. These cannot achieve any definite direction and
purpose, nor will they ever. It is only when we have a definite
purpose and direction that we can have a definite action plan –
this I have seen. I have studied existence and I impart study to
those who want to study. This is what I do every day. It is not an
obligation on anyone. I do this just the way air does its work,
water does its work... I strongly believe whatever I could do until
now, every second of it has been with this very understanding and
purpose only. At every turn, issue, task, behaviour situation – I
keep getting resolution with this understanding. I am happy with
this, so is my family. In my view every family wants to be happy.
Every human being wants to become happy and achieve
understanding. No one wants to become a fool. Even if you call a
fool as “fool”, he would only shout back that – you yourself are a
fool. Therefore, that which is unacceptable would not be
acceptable to anyone. Foolishness, tussle, conflict, antagonism,
revolt and quarrel are not acceptable to me. Dialectic Materialism
claims - nothing can happen without conflict. In its place,
Resolution based Materialism claims – all that exists is forceful
and this forcefulness is purposeful. This understanding of
purpose is the natural fragrance in an awakened jeevan, which
essentially is about alignment of science with wisdom. Wisdom
means understanding of existential purpose. Scientific wisdom
means, being able to reason for the existential purpose. Our logic
is incomplete if we cannot give reasoning for existential purpose.

Dialectic Materialism claims to have given Science that is logical.

The first logical point is – What am I? Who am I? What is my
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
purpose? How does happiness, peace, misery etc happen in me?
Why do we suffer? Why do we become happy? We don’t get
answers to these questions from this Science. We cannot get
something good after starting with lies (flawed assumptions).

There is resolution, purpose and direction in existence. Direction

in existence is evident as movements in nature towards
resolution. I have tried to explain this in “Resolution based
Materialism”. “Behavioural Humanism” builds on that. Human
being wants to be happy, and resolution = happiness, problem =
misery. Resolution is an imperative need of human being. How
would resolution come about in a human being? Resolution will
happen in a human being from his behaviour with other human
beings. How? We remain stuck in problems if we don’t recognize
the relationship. We keep facing problems if we don’t fulfil values
that are expected in relationships. Therefore, resolution happens
- when relationships are recognized, expected values in those
relationships is fulfilled, both sides in every relationship appraise
the extent to which the values could be fulfilled in their
relationship, and experience mutual fulfilment. Human being
today has become fully laden with the burden of problems - so
much that now only problems can be seen. Endless political,
cultural and economic problems have entirely obscured human
existence. Generation after generation humankind is getting
buried under the rising heap of problems. In its place,
behavioural humanism postulates: - human being becomes
resolved from behaviour. Human being’s behaviour is with other
human beings and with rest of the nature. Human being’s
behaviour with rest of the nature (other than human beings) has
resolution when it is with understanding of law (definitiveness in
their conduct), restraint (continuity of their conduct as tradition)
and balance (usefulness and complementariness) of nature. If
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
human behaviour with rest of the nature is without this
understanding, then problems are inevitable, as are evident
today. The technological advances without this understanding led
to destruction of Earth and environmental crisis being faced by all
human beings. Now there is a question mark on the continuity of
human race on Earth. In my view, every human being can
become resolved – whatever may be his condition. That’s what is
postulated in Behavioural Humanism. Its essence is
understanding of relationship, fulfilling values expected in those
relationships, appraisal from both sides, and mutual fulfilment.
It is with this we become resolved in all dimensions. Resolution
in economic dimension is by way of natural cyclicality.
Resolution in cultural dimension is by way of human
consciousness based psychology. Human being is a unit of
knowledge order and he can produce evidence of his existence
only from realization in knowledge. These evidences are in the
form of relationships, trust, living in orderliness, and realizing
coexistence. In this way, behavioural humanism is about
resolution in all dimensions.

Question: Freud postulated that all human desires are

centred in sex. Today this ideology has been accepted all
over the world declaratively or otherwise. However we
can see this has not resulted in clarity about human
being and meaningful outcomes. You have talked about
“Human consciousness based Psychology”. How will
this psychology replace Freudian psychology? How will
humankind achieve happiness and peace with this new
psychology and humankind as a whole will get a right
direction?

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

Answer: - It has been made clear that every human being is a
combined expression of jeevan (conscious aspect) and body
(material aspect). Jeevan is a constitutionally complete atom. A
material atom alone irreversibly transitions to constitutional
completeness and becomes conscious – and thereby nature
becomes able to express consciousness. The constitutionally
complete atom remains free from weight bondage (gravitation
tendency) and molecular bondage (bonding tendency). That’s
the greatness of conscious atom. It becomes capable of
controlling a body with enriched brain, as expression of
coexistence. I have seen this thoroughly. This can be studied.
The central point of this study is clarity that “being alive” means
jeevan’s expression through body, “not being alive” means
separation of jeevan from body. The evidence of “being alive” is
understood from the activities of sense organs. When jeevan
becomes unable to express itself through body, or when sense
organs cannot function - it is known as death. Death means –
separation of jeevan from body. The moment jeevan leaves body,
we declare the person to be dead. We don’t call that dead body as
a human being. The term “human being” is used only while
jeevan is controlling body. Every such human being is thoughtful.
This thoughtfulness is not there in living beings other than
humans. The thoughts in animals (animal order units) are in the
form of specie conformance only. Even if a human being tries to
live like animals, his imagination and free-will remains spread far
and wide. When our thoughts not limited to our body then we
become able to think vastly. It is because of this imagination and
free-will that human being could not live in the purview of body.
We humans could not become fulfilled and resolved by thinking
within the limits of body. As its evidence, we humans could
neither become social, nor could the undivided society get
realized. The universal orderliness could not be achieved by
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
humankind yet. The orderliness of dogs is universal. The
orderliness of horses is universal. The orderliness of every living
being is universal. Why is humankind so unfortunate to not have
universal orderliness? Thoughtfulness is natural for human
beings. We cannot remain silent. We are not capable of silencing
our thoughts. All units (expressions) in existence – animals,
vegetations, stones, metals etc – have their utility and these are
mutually complementary. How is it possible that we humans are
not becoming complementary? The efforts of silencing thoughts
are unnatural. It is against the natural course of evolution. It is
against humankind’s advancement and awakening. These
conflicts give rise to problems. That’s what has happened.

Many people have endeavoured for samadhi. In all these

endeavours, when it comes to give the evidence of their having
achieved the state of samadhi, then some people have testified it,
in a roundabout way. However it has not been possible for them
to give a statement like – “I have achieved samadhi. This is the
outcome of samadhi, and I am its evidence.” After this there is
talk of divine incarnates. Whatever documentation is available
for divine incarnates, these are attempts to present the ultimate of
human imagination. All these efforts were with good intentions
but these could not result in universal good – i.e. resolution,
prosperity, fearlessness and coexistence could not be evidenced.
Undivided society and universal orderliness could not be realized.
Humankind could not become capable of giving testimony that
every human being has now achieved the understanding. We are
saying this is a “failure” of idealism because every human being
could not achieve happiness, peace, contentment and bliss. As its
opposite, materialism postulated “accumulate and consume”,
which didn’t succeed as well, and it has also ended up being a
failure. The “success” is only from understanding of
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
consciousness in human being. Where does the consciousness in
a human being reside? The consciousness resides in jeevan, and
it doesn’t reside in body. Sigmund Freud, the person you
mentioned, has not considered jeevan.

If carnality were the ultimate of jeevan’s expression then what

was the need for evolution of human being? In this way, there is
no purpose of human existence. What is the distinction of human
being from animals? The distinction is – the purpose of human
existence is happiness. Resolution is needed for being happy.
Not a single human being will become prosperous without
resolution. It will not be possible for us to become prosperous
while leaving out resolution. This is something we need to think
about, and after thinking I understood that the wholeness of
human consciousness is as combination of understanding and
sensitivity. Understanding has two aspects – (1) knowing, (2)
believing. Sensitivity also has two aspects – (1) recognizing, (2)
responding. Sensitivity is entirely sensory. Therefore, all our
decisions based on bodily senses are necessarily temporary in
nature, it will not have continuity. For example - eating feels
good, but we can’t keep eating all the time. Sleeping feels good,
but we can’t keep sleeping all the time. No sensory function can
be continuously in the same way, it needs change again and again.
No human being can be continuously engaged in any sensory
function without requiring change. Why is it this way? The
purpose of brittleness in sensory functions is to orient human
being towards understanding. This brittleness signals the need of
awakening in human being, such is the provision in existential
orderliness. This is the innate inspiration and direction for
awakening – in you, in me, in every human being. When this
awakening happens in you then you will testify for yourself - that
would be your responsibility. As for me, I have achieved all this –
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
and as “all this” has come to me, I am naturally thrilled. It is so
systematic... Just by thinking a little, every human being can
discover that sensory functions are brittle and we humans expect
happiness continuously. Happiness is felt in senses, but
happiness cannot be realized in senses. Our thirst is for
happiness, which is not possible without realization. Realization
has continuity. Realization is never brittle. On this basis, the
brittleness of sensory functions was only natural, existentially
provisioned, as it was needed for realization. Upon realization we
could correctly valuate the sensory function. After this, I found
the meaning of “understanding”. Understanding means, all
activities of jeevan being inspired from realization. This is the
meaning of awakened consciousness. This is the meaning of
human consciousness. I have myself realized this. I can impart
this study to you. You will achieve this consciousness
development only through study. Reading this again and again
can be helpful for understanding. Understanding of jeevan forms
the basis for human consciousness. Understanding of conduct of
humanness forms the tradition. Without understanding
behaviour of humanness and conduct of humanness – the
tradition of humanness is not going to be possible. Conduct of
humanness is one such thing which is universal (true at all places)
and eternal (true at all times). Conduct of humanness is as
combination of values, morality and ethics. Morality is –
righteous wealth, righteous marital relationship and kindness in
work and behaviour. Ethics is about good use and protection of
means of living (body, mind, and wealth). Values are about
valuating in relationships and mutual fulfilment. The existential
purpose of jeevan is to be happy. The existential purpose of
human being is resolution, prosperity, fearlessness and
coexistence. Ethics in every dimension of human living are
connected with human being’s existential purpose. Ethics are
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
meaningful only when they are connected with human purpose.
It is the same way for values and morality. Misery has to result
when one lives with immorality, unethical conduct and disregards
values. In this way, conduct of humanness is about living with
values, morality and ethics – which reveals the innate nature of
human being. What was needed for such conduct? The need was
for knowledge of existence, jeevan and conduct of humanness.

What is Knowledge? Knowing and believing (in existence) itself is

Knowledge. It is only after knowing and believing that we go
about discovering the point of fulfilment of knowing and
believing. If we don’t know and we don’t believe then where and
why would we explore its point of fulfilment? For example, if we
don’t know or believe in the existence of Delhi, then how would
we plan for going to Delhi? We believed in the existence of Moon
and we could reach Moon as well. In this way, we do a lot of
things for the point of fulfilment of knowing and believing. The
understanding (knowing and believing) of existence results in
understanding (knowing and believing) of coexistence, which in
turn results in conduct of humanness (as point of fulfilment of
knowing and believing) in a human being. Psychology of Human
Consciousness has more details about it. One more thing, I have
seen the 122 distinct functions in jeevan. Among these 122, I have
tried to explain how many functions happen in mun, how many in
vritti, how many in chitta, how many in buddhi and how many
happen in atma. What is the purpose of explaining these? The
purpose is – once something is listened and understood, then for
reaching its point of fulfilment, the realization becomes
inevitable. Realization is the capability for imparting
understanding to others. The evidence of our understanding is in
making others understand. The evidence of our health is in
making others healthy. The evidence of our being wealthy is in
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
making others wealthy. This is a simple way for becoming
socially responsible. Until now human being has only been living
in the purview of sensitivity – therefore human living has been
characterized by hoarding, enjoyment, conflicts, revolts,
exploitation, etc. In this way, the essence of Psychology of
Human Consciousness is jeevan itself – when we believe for
knowing, then in the course of recognizing and responding – we
naturally become capable of doing justice, we become restrained,
balanced and happy.

Question: Today there are thousands of health care. So

many people are devoted in these activities. Despite
investing so much money into these, the physical health
of humankind is still bad. The diseases are only
increasing, despite so many inventions of new machines.
The older methods don’t get the desired results and the
modern methods also don’t deliver as they promise. In
this context, how would you recognize health in the light
of Jeevan Vidya?

Answer: - This question is actually everybody’s concern. All the

ongoing health care is for specialization. Specialization kills. “I
am specialist, therefore whatever I say is right” – this has resulted
in maximum crimes. Maximum crimes have happened on those
who had fallen sick. The doctors don’t want to listen when the
patient starts describing his pain, they want to listen to machines
(diagnostic reports done through machines), while machines
don’t have the capability of recognizing human pain. Only a
human being can listen to other human being’s pain, which is not
possible through any machine. The earlier trials of recognizing
human pain - like Ayurveda, Greek etc, are praiseworthy – which
try to recognize ailments by pressure, flow, and strain in the

Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction

pulse. Gradually upon seeing the efficiency of machines and
finding pulse taking difficult, doctors turned to machines. Now
all doctors want to use machines for recognizing ailments. The
decisions they take based on machines do not satisfy the patient,
and they remain distant from recognizing the ailment. The
prescription that the doctors give based on these incorrect
diagnoses does not work on the patient. Entire specialization is
with the motive of hoarding and comforts. The specialists charge
money for writing prescriptions upon seeing the patients, and the
amount that they charge depends on how big the hospital or city
is. The bigger city specialist prescribes the same medicine and
charges many times over compared to the smaller city doctor.
Here I want to bring your attention to how human beings have
turned mad after money. Thinking that the doctor who charges
more is better is flawed. Thirdly, we have never thought
holistically about health care, or we never thought about “curing”,
we have never tried for that. Holistic cure means – we first
recognize health or the state of being healthy. The ailment needs
to be recognized from the reference of health. The ailments need
to be recognized through the pulse movement, and by observing
the symptoms of the patient we will diagnose the ailment. When
the curing begins with this diagnosis and it becomes successful
then the doctor should consider himself to have been right,
otherwise he should consider himself to have been wrong.
Recognition of ailment, recognizing the strength of ailment,
recognizing the medicines, recognizing their combinations,
recognizing their method of use, recognizing the mental state of
the patient, recognizing the diet restrictions, recognizing the
habits and disciplines of patient, and then recognizing the cure –
all these put together is holistic cure. Complete cure is possible
through use of medicine and exercise. The gems cure methods
talk only about rays and radiations. Mantra cure methods affect
Jeevan Vidya – An Introduction
mostly on the neurological waves. Medicines are the most
effective means of curing, as these dissolve into the bodily juices
and bring about the changes in them. Body is a system with an
inbuilt mechanism of fixing its ailments. Doctors (of today)
intrude and interfere into body system’s working. What should
doctors do then? Doctors should give those juices and substances
which strengthen the natural system of body. That’s the wisdom
and science of doctor. This way of curing will work. Therefore,
health care should be universalized by taking it out of the clutches
of specialists.

Health care concerns body. Discipline concerns mind (conscious

aspect). Discipline is the mindset which is based on justice, law,
restraint and balance. The way for discipline is understanding.
Absence of understanding results in imbalance while
understanding results in balance. It is a very simple formula!
Entire orderliness of existence is the meaning of understanding.

May Universal Goodness Prevail
