COVER SHEET
2. REFRENCES
1.) Technical specification, Annexure-C1.
2.) Technical requirement for implementation of concrete.
3.) BIS Code(s) such as IS 456, IS 383, IS 10262, SP 23 etc.
3. RESPONSIBILITY
The responsibility for executing this procedure lies with the QC In-charge.
4. PRE REQUISITES
1. Availability of qualified ingredients.
2. Availability of tools and plants for concrete proportion.
3. Skilled operator for production and testing.
5.1. Cement
Dalmia OPC 43 Grade conforming to IS: 269, approved by CLIENT is used. Physical,
chemical analysis were conducted as per IS: 4031, IS: 4032. The test results were noted
to be satisfactory in meeting the technical specification and are enclosed as Annexure-1.
The grading limits for fine aggregate shall be as per Table no: 1.
Table No- 1.
In our concrete mix design trial of DLC grade we have used 20 mm graded aggregate as per
IRC:SP:49-2014 clause-3.2. We obtain the above 20 mm graded aggregate by combining 20 mm
and 10 mm aggregate in the proportion of 60:40. The gradation test results of above individual
fraction of 20 mm and 10 mm is already captured in the gradation test report .
Please refer to Annexure-3 for ready reference. The above test parameters are meeting the
technical specification requirement and are enclosed as Annexure-3.
5.4. WATER
Water from CLIENT approved source is used. Sample was tested as per IS: 3025 and
conforms to IS: 456. The pH value of water shall not be less than 6. The test result is
meeting the technical specifications requirement and is enclosed as Annexure- 4.
The technical required of fresh and hardened concrete as per IRC:SP:49, is mentioned in Table-
03
Table No-3
S. No Properties Technical Requirement DLC
1. Aggregate Cement ratio for OPC 14:1 Max.
2. Cementitious material 140 kg/cum
3. Water content range 5% to 7%
4. Batching to finishing time 90 Minutes
5. Compressive strength Min average of 7 Mpa at 7 day test and
individual should not be less than 5.5 Mpa
Concrete mix design detail with cement content, water content and the other ingredients to
meet the technical requirements is given in Table No: 4.
Table No-4
Mix Proportion Sheet For- Dry Lean Concrete
NOTE:
The concrete mix design Trial(s) were carried out at Batching plant.
Percentage from coarse to fine aggregate may be changed marginally according to
grading of fine aggregate without deviation from ZONE-2. If required we may change
the proportion of 20mm & 10mm coarse aggregate (within the overall proportion of
coarse aggregate in the concrete mix). However we shall ensure that the above fine
tuning would be well within the permissible batching tolerance specified for aggregates
is + 2% ,for water is + 1% and for Cement it is + 1%.
The above mix shall be re-qualified in case of change in source of ingredient.
9.0. CONCLUSION:
On analysis, the result of DLC mix design should meet the technical requirements of
Indian Standard with respect to workability, strength and durability aspects.
