1. Draw the icon for Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

2. Why it is necessary to turn off the firewall?

Windows Firewall can help prevent hackers or malicious software from gaining access to your computer
through internet or a network, in performing a networking we are using a network via LAN cable, as the firewall is on
while you are performing networking maybe you can find hard to network successfully as the firewall can be a
hindrance for you to connect the pc’s, firewall’s duty is to keep computer safe from intruders unidentified networks
will be automatically blocked unless you will configure it on settings, only those allowed networks can gain access to
your pc, to avoid this circumstances and if you are just performing a peer-to-peer networking for educational purpose
or if you are just practicing networking it is a good start to turn off the firewall, but it is not recommended.

3. Why it is necessary to disable the Wi-Fi?

It is necessary to turn off the Wi-Fi while performing networking to avoid confusion of the connection, as the
pc detects Wi-Fi networks it will automatically connect to the PC. To avoid this network confusions, disable network
adapter of your Wi-Fi and let the ethernet adapter turned on or enabled.

4. Is it possible to assign the same address on different PC?

Each PC must have a unique I.P Address, and assigning same address on different PC is inappropriate,
address should be allocated to each PC, in a unique combination of numbers starts with 192.168……

5. There are how many groups of numbers in an IP address?

There 4 groups of numbers in an I.P Address (e.g 192.168.1.3) 192 being the first group, 168, being the
second one, 1 the third group, the 3 being the last group all in all it has 4 groups.

6. Why it is necessary to turn on sharing?

When sharing is on, people on the network, including homegroup can have an access to the other computer but
it is also depending on the restriction configured by the other user, if sharing is on the files only shared is only visible
you can read nor write onto it depends on restriction provided by the owner.
7. Is it necessary to turn on network discovery?

When Network Discovery is on, the computer can see other network computers and devices and is visible to
other network computers, it is necessary as this is the system settings affects whether your computer can find other
computers and devices on the network and whether other computers on the network can find your computer.
8. Why it is necessary to turn off password protected sharing?

When password protected sharing is on, only people who have a user account and password on the computer
can access shared files, printers attached on a computer, and Public Folders. To give other people access password
protected sharing must be turned off.

9. What was the best thing to do if you found out that the Ethernet cable is broken?
The best thing to do is to replace the ethernet cable if you have an extra of it, since you have a knowledge on
making an ethernet cable why don’t you create another cable if you are not lacking of tools and equipment, if you are
running out of time the best would be a replacement of whole cable that is working and tested as it only needs to plug
then.

10. Enumerate and differentiate the different share permissions?

Read: the permission is only for viewing purposes without permission to make any changes on the file.
Change/Write: This Permission allows you to make changes on the file like editing etc.
Full Control: this permission allows the user to gain access both viewing and make changes into the file.

11. Once to PC’s are already connected are they capable to access each other files and drives?

It depends on what the PC wanted to share, the user must configure what drive or what file is he/she will be
going to share and configure also the permission either read, write, or full control or access.

12. Enumerate common and possible reasons why we failed to perform network connection.

 Cables are not working properly.

 Advance Sharing options are not configured properly.
 Windows Firewall is on.
 TCP/IP V4 is not configured correctly.
 Pc needs to be restarted if you are 100% sure that you perform all the steps well and still you can’t network
pc well.
 Make sure that Wi-Fi network adapter is disabled.
