Clock Cable Connection

When the system’s reference clock source comes from the 8K line reference clock provided by
the upper-level and sent by the interface board, the line reference clock cable should be used,
which should be installed at the rear of the cabinet.

End A of one SE1 clock cable is connected to the CKOUT2 reference clock output port of interface
board 1 on the master shelf. End B is connected to the REF1 reference clock input port of EGFS1
on the master shelf.

End A of one SE1 clock cable is connected to the CKOUT3 clock output port of interface board 1
on the master shelf. End B is connected to REF1 clock input port of EGFS2 on the master shelf.

End A of one SE1 clock cable is connected to the CKOUT2 clock output port of interface board 2
on the master shelf. End B is connected to the REF2 clock input port of EGFS 1 on the master
shelf.

End A of one SE1 clock cable is connected to the CKOUT3 clock output port of interface board 2
on the master shelf. End B is connected to the REF2 clock input port of EGFS board2 on the
master shelf.

No.1-4 are clock cable

When the system’s reference clock source comes from the 2 MBps or 2 MHz reference clock
provided by BITS, the BITS reference clock cable should be used, which should be installed at the
rear of the cabinet.
The cabling direction includes upward cabling and downward cabling.

Upward cabling: All clock cables are threaded out from the top of the cabinet, and then led
upward to the cable tray.

Downward cabling: All clock cables are led along the cable troughs at the two sides in the cabinet,
and then threaded out from the bottom of the cabinet to under the floor.

End A of one SE1 clock cable is connected to the REF1 or REF2 reference clock output port of
master EGFS board on the master shelf. End B is connected to DDF, and a cable from DDF is
connected with the system clock output port of BITS. The other SE1 cable is connected to the
slave clock port.

Whether end B of it is connected to the REF1 port or REF2 port is not defined yet. It is subject to
the networking situation on site.

Cabling route for BITS reference clock is shown in Figure 4-6 (using upward cabling as an
example):
