SECTION 1 - DEPARTMENT STRUCTURE 


 
 
1.1 - Rank Structure 
Ranks are listed from highest to lowest.
Rank Structure 

1.2 - Chain of Command 

○The Chain of Command begins at the rank of Sergeant.


○The Chain of Command is what you will refer to if you have any issues.
○Failure to comply with the Chain of Command may result in consequences.
● Ex: Strike or Demotion “Unless Deemed Necessary”
 
 
1.3 - Department Regulations 
All Deputies must follow these rules and regulations

○All Deputies must respect fellow peers and superiors


○Deputies are to stay in assigned zones unless directed to do so.

SECTION 2 - WEAPONS, UNIFORM, AND VEHICLES 
 
 
2.1 - Weapon Structure  
○All Officers will carry a baton, x26 taser, flashlight and standard issued service pistol on their duty belt.
○All Officers will have Pump Action shotgun in their vehicle's trunk, you have beanbag rounds/rubber
bullets in order to use the rounds, do /me “loads non lethal rounds”
○Officers may carry a AR15-M4 Rifle in their Trunk/Rifle Rack ​only ​if S.R.T. certified
 
2.1a - Firearm Attachments 
○Rail mounted flashlights
○Rail mounted Grip, Scope

2.1b - Firearm Discharge 


○You are not to fire from a moving vehicle if you are in the process of stopping, and there is possibility of
your’s or someone's life being endangered is the only applicable time for a deputy to fire from the vehicle,
so if you are in a pursuit, if your taking out tires your vehicle must be stopped and safely ahead of the
pursuit.

2.2 - Uniform  
Listed from highest to lowest rank- exceptions may be made if approved by the Sheriff before patrol

Listed from highest to lowest rank- exceptions may be made if approved by the police chief before patrol
If K-9 or CVE Authorized, may drive any K-9 or CVE Authorized marked vehicles

3.1 - Roster

If transferring from another department, we will do our bests to have you keep your current rank,
unless those positions are filled, then you be put in the next available position and will be notified once that
position is available, or we see fit that you should be in a higher or lower rank status

SECTION 4 - LOA Policy & Deputies purpose 


 
4.1 - LOA Policy 
If a current LOA is not represented for your absence you will receive a warning and will be speaked with by
admin of The Sheriff’s Office

If seen again with no loa you will be given a temporary strike and another talk from us

If this happens again, Admins of LSCSO will decide on further punishment 


 
4.2 - Officers Purpose 

○​Sheriff 
The role of the Sheriff is to work closely with the Deputy Sheriff & Under Sheriff, resolving issues and taking
disciplinary actions if needed. Overseeing the department, making sure it is running properly and resolving
any major conflicts. Making final calls and keeping the department up to date & equipment and deputies
working together.

○​Under Sheriff 
The role of the Under Sheriff is to work closely with Lieutenants & Captain's, resolving issues and taking
disciplinary actions if needed, ​after ​notifying the Sheriff.
○2nd Highest Appointed Rank
○Respond to any supervisor requested calls if needed
○Make sure officers are following proper SOP
○Resolve any conflicts that may arise.
○Giving the Police Chief progress reports of RPs and any conflicts that happen
○In the absence of the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff, running the pre-patrol briefing and assigning
patrol zones
○Make sure deputies below you are following proper SOP
○Resolve any conflicts that may arise. If unable, speak with a superior
○Regularly check in with Sergeants to make sure everything is alright
○Supervise the patrol areas
○​This rank shows your experience.
○​As a corporal, you’ll have some authority over the deputies and officers in the department, though
this authority often does not include a supervisory role.
○If Issues arise, call for backup from the Sergeant or above

○​Deputy​ ​III 
The role of a Deputy III is to provide help to lower deputies in rank and explorers
○Make sure officers below you have the correct uniform/vehicles and explorers have typed /cop to
obtain weapons
○Answer all help needed questions ( We want our deputies to feel comfortable and satisfied with
their DPT) If you don’t know the the answer to a question, ask the next higher up.

○​Deputy​ ​II 
The role of a Deputy II is to provide help to lower deputies in rank and explorers
○Make sure officers below you have the correct uniform/vehicles and explorers have typed /cop to
obtain weapons
○Answer all help needed questions ( We want our deputies to feel comfortable and satisfied with
their DPT) If you don’t know the the answer to a question, ask the next higher up.

○​Deputy​ ​I 
The role of a Deputy I is to provide help to cadets
○Answer all help needed questions ( We want our deputies to feel comfortable and satisfied with
their DPT) If you don’t know the the answer to a question, ask the next higher up.

○​Explorer 
The role of a explorer is to learn the rules and regulations of the LSCSO, and asking any uncertain
questions. * promoted to Deputy I after one week, if transferring from civilian team

5.1a - Joining a Subdivision

○Joining a subdivision requires a couple requirements before you can join


○You must be a Deputy II or higher in the LSCSO, unless stated otherwise in the subdivisions
SOP.
○If you are within the requirements above, you can apply to the subdivision of your choosing using
the application link located in that subdivisions SOP.
○If you are within the requirements above and have been accepted into the subdivision, you will
then go through that divisions training process and get certified.  
 
 
5.2 - Creating a Subdivision 
 
If you are interested in creating a subdivision that you feel the LSCSO would benefit from, you must follow
a few steps to get it started.
○First, you must make a presentable SOP of the division you want to make
○You must then notify the Department Administration to schedule a meeting where you will present
the SOP to the LSCSO administration staff, and will either get it approved or denied. If approved it will be
added to the LSCSO main SOP and announced to the public. If denied, there will be an explanation given.

 
SECTION 6 - Training Outline 
 

6.1 - Training Outline 


 
Before you may become a deputy with the LSCSO you must go through the LSCSO training program. This
program will include everything you will need to know and encounter during regular patrols. This will also
allow you to talk to an experienced deputy and ask questions. Below are the steps you will take to become
an officer
○Complete two full ride alongs with an FTO during official patrols
○Complete a training session lead by an FTO
○Pass a patrol test ( An FTO will ride with you during a patrol to make sure you know what your
doing)

SECTION 7 - Promotions and Demotions 

 
7.1 - Receiving a Promotion 

If you meets the requirements and prove yourself both during RP and off duty, the Assistant Police Chief
and or the Police Chief can grant you a promotion for one rank above your current. In special cases you
may be promoted higher. Below are the ranks requirements are needed to qualify for a promotion

○Senior Officer: Must be with the department for 2 weeks and no strike within the past two weeks
 
 
7.2 - Receiving a Demotion 
 
○A warning
-The deputy giving a warning must be a Lieutenant or higher
-The giving deputy must pull aside the receiving deputy in ​private​ and explain in​ detail
why the warning is given
-The Sheriff ​must​ be notified via Discord dm stating what happened within two hours of
the warning

○A strike
-The deputy giving a strike must be the Deputy Sheriff or higher
-The giving deputy must fill out and submit a case file from the link below
-The giving deputy must pull aside the receiving deputy in ​private​ and explain in​ detail
why the strike is given
--The Sheriff ​must​ be notified by Discord dm stating what happened immediately

○Termination from the department


-The Sheriff is the​ only ​officer that may terminate an officer from the department
● During Termination - All deputies will be questioned about the incident
-A case file must be filled out from the link below
-The Sheriff must pull the officer receiving the termination in ​private chat​ and explain in 
detail​ why the termination is given
-The officer must have at least three strikes within the past month or a special occasion

○Things that may warrant a demotion, stroke, or warning, but not excluded to:
-Fail RP
-Disrespect of a fellow Deputy
-Not following a supervisor’s order
-Not following the LSCSO SOP
-Taking Cars off road that are not SUV’s and or Trucks
