Peace Church Council Meeting (July Meeting) June 26th, 2018, 6:30 pm
Present: Todd Schneeberger, Jim Johnson, Bob Shervey, Lexi Danner, Joyce Hanson and Pas-
tor Sarah Evenson. Absent: Kim Lang, Gaylene Hanson, Lois Scherer, and Treasurer Sandy
Kashmark. Guest: Heather Danner

Meeting was called to order at 6:33 pm by Chair Joyce Hanson.

Pastor Sarah’s report included that she had help work on the congregational survey, wrote her
newsletter article, and made visits.

A motion by Todd, seconded by Lexi was made to approve the secretary’s report. MCU
Because our July meeting was held before the 1st of the month there was no treasurer’s report.
It will be emailed to council members later.

Youth Leader Heather Danner reported that they had a profit of $778.00 from the car wash on
June 23rd. She received a quote from Heartland Motors in Morris for around $560.00. The group
will be receiving a donation from the Old Settler’s Reunion Committee for their help selling
wristbands at the park. They will be leaving the evening of July 7th and returning on July14th.

Pastor Sarah will check with First Lutheran Church in Alexandria as to what they use for a
projector. It was suggested we purchase a headset microphone for use at services. A motion by
Lexi, seconded by Jim to purchase this was made. MCU

Joyce will be contacting Jennifer Peterson about reprinting the church directory.
Todd will be contacting stores to see about purchasing a new gas stove.
Bob will be contacting Farmer’s Coop Oil in July regarding our fuel contract.

Kim has provided a prototype of our brochure which will be printed in the near future along with
business cards.

The council would like to thank Doug and Marilyn Frykman and Jared Frykman for their work on
repairing and refinishing our bench. It will be kept inside until it is cured.

The loose offering in the amount of $650.00 collected at our June 24th church service was desig-
nated to fix the drinking fountain at the park.

It has been suggested we provide a job description to the person hired to mow. We will provide
a time sheet and an application form to the hired person.

A list of clean up jobs was presented and members of the council volunteered to finish the list.

VBS will be held Monday, August 13th through Wednesday, August 15th. A meeting for all
workers will be held on Wednesday, August 8th. All Sunday School parents, students, and
teachers will be invited to attend.

Our dance and silent auction will be held on September 15th or 22nd.
The congregational survey is ready and will be sent out next week with a deadline of August 1 st.
Motion to send this out was made by Todd, seconded by Bob. MCU

Joyce will contact Jason Martin regarding a meeting with West and East Moe council members
to talk about the contract.

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 7th at 6:30 pm.
Motion was made by Bob, seconded by Jim to adjourn at 8:30 pm. MCU
