"RISK FACTORS RELATED TO THE PEOPLE'S HYPERTENSION HEALTH IN THE WORKING AREAS OF THE
PUSKESMAS TAMALANREA DISTRICT OF TAMALANREA CITY OF MAKASSAR CITY" (In Guidance By
Baharuddin, SKM, M. Kes and Dr.Eha Sumanrti, SKM, M.Kes)

Hypertension causes 8 million people worldwide to die each year. Almost 1.5 million of them are
in Southeast Asia including Indonesia. Data on non-infectious diseases in 2016 were 3,225 people.
Hypertension disease is the second sequence in 10 of the highest disease after diabetes mellitus at
Tamalanrea Health Center Tamalanrea Sub District Makassar City 2016.
The research method used is analytical survey research with research design "Cross Sectional
Study". The subjects of this study were all patients who visited cases of non-communicable diseases
outpatient in the period January-October 2016 with a population of 322 people. The selection of
samples with simple random sampling yielded a sample of 60 people. The statistical test used Chi Square
and processed and presented in the form of tables and graphics accompanied by explanation in the form
of narration.
The result showed that there was a correlation between family history and hypertension (ρ =
0,007 <α 0,05), there was no correlation between physical activity and hypertension (ρ = 0,492> α 0,05)
Hypertension (ρ = 0.037 <α 0.05), and there is a relationship between obesity with hypertensive
incidence (ρ = 0.008 <α 0.05).
Suggestions in this study include implementing a healthy lifestyle, especially for those who have
a history of hypertension in the family, eat a balanced diet, reduce coffee consumption, lose weight and
portions for those who have more weight, regular exercise and rest Enough and avoid prolonged stress
so that the risk of hypertension can be avoided.
