PICKING THE PROBABLE CAUSE

Some gamble to pick the source or cause

of what they consider to be a problem
to wage a war with weapons or laws

They attack the “probable cause” of distress

and convert their guess into the conviction
that their chosen target is correct

Drugged by conviction, they refuse to listen

when people beg them to do something else
if the problem, they try to solve, gets bigger

And when the “probable cause” is gone

but the problem remains huge and growing
they still expect praise for what they've done

claiming their approach is right and working

but that those who dissagree, boycot the solution
and should be punished to get rid of the problem
