on Intelligence

Dear Sirs:

I am in receipt of your letter to me dated April 24, 2018, in which you have requested that I
furnish to you documents related to individuals and topics as set forth in your letter and further that I
submit to an interview with the Committee, presumably on the same topic. Apparently, you and
your staff have been told that I have some knowledge regarding the individuals and entities
identified in your letter. However, you have been misinformed. I do not.

To be clear:

1. I have no documents to furnish to you. The only person of Russian descent with whom I
have spoken about the 2016 election is a [ redacted]. I am not going to prepare or submit a privilege
log with regard to my communications with [redacted] for the reason that it is not actually
responsive to your requests and would constitute a violation of [redacted] attorney-client privilege.

2. I have no information about any of the individuals referenced in your letter. Whatever
stories Glenn Simpson, Dan Jones, and other operatives associated with FusionGPS, have told your
staff about me, they are lying. They have made false statements regarding my knowledge, or role, or
information in my possession related to the persons listed in your letter – none of whom had I ever
heard of before reading their names in the erroneous news reports falsely accusing me of having

some information that you now think I have. The story is false and you are wrong. I have nothing
whatsoever to say on this topic other than it is a lie, completely fabricated and concocted by Glenn
Simpson & Co. You should be pursuing them for perjury and for making false statements to
congressional investigators.

If you believe that you have factual information and details to the contrary that would compel
my appearance before your committee, please furnish that to me.

Absent that, I will consider that this matter is concluded. Thank you.
