following the traceability of its vertical and horizontal integration model form its origin to the final presentation to
clients, what is known as the 3 pillars of responsible behaviour in the production chain: Office (Employees),
Factories (Suppliers, Business Partners) and Stores (Clients). A framework developed by Inditex in the permanent

in the business model. Zara’s approach of managing CSR entails integrating social, labour and human rights
concerns within companies’ management, giving rise to policies, strategies, procedures and business models that
satisfy consumers. It poses a question regarding the type of society the industries and stakeholders want to build
and the role that companies can play in it. Industry leaders in sustainable fashion are Patagonia and ESPRIT. They
advocate use of “low impact dyes”, naturally coloured cotton and recycling polyester. Also there has been
advancement in fabric processing and material provenance. Organizations like the Sustainable Apparel Coalition,
USEPA, H&M Foundation have been working to promote sustainable supply chain strategies and recycling old fabric.
