Project Module 1
Project Module 2

Research the Web and other sources to find legal issues

related to non-compliance with labor laws that your chosen
company had.
1. Give a short account of the case
2. Identify the preventive actions the firm should have
done in the first place to avoid the legal incident

Project Module 3

1. Obtain the organizational structure of the HR

department
2. Design a strategy map for the company, according to
what was found in Module 1
3. If the company has a high-performance work system,
describe the general aspects of it. If it does not have
one or it is difficult to obtain the information, suggest
the general lines of one.
4. Design the HR strategy of the firm.

Project Module 4
1. Write a job description and a job specification for two
different positions within the company
2. Look for employment ads the firm has issued (media,
job boards), and analyze if the communication is free
from biases, if it is family friendly, and should appeal
to women and minorities.
Project Module 5

1. Develop a list of specific selection techniques that you

would suggest the firm use to hire the next Chief
Human Resource Officer of the firm.

engagement?
2. Choose two occupations (such as marketing manager,
HR manager, or salesperson) and use sources such as
O*NET to size up the future demand for this
occupation in the next 10 years or so. Does this seem
like a good occupation to pursue? Why or why not?

Project Module 9

1. Develop compensation policies for the secretary

position at the firm. The compensation policies should
address the following: appraisals, raises, holidays,
vacation pay, overtime pay, method of pay,
garnishments, and time cards.
2. Access relevant Web sites to determine what equitable
pay ranges are for these jobs: finance analyst,
marketing assistant, and HR analyst, all with a
bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience. Do so for
the following cities: New York, New York; San
Francisco, California; Houston, Texas; and Lima,
Peru.
Project Module 10

the previous module: finance analyst, marketing
assistant, and HR analyst

drafting a pay plan for managers being sent to each
country.

the firm, and provide suggestions for improvement.

the solution to the case. Two pages for the case, at most;
