WORK EXPERIENCE
MidAmerican Energy Internship – Sioux City, IA 5/2018 – 8/2018
• Identified most efficient routes to extend the current circuit to reach new customers
• Assessed unknown fuses and determined appropriate fuse size based on distribution lines and substations
• Designed underground cable routes and sized transformers for new housing development
• Assessed streetlights in Sioux City and surrounding communities for needed improvements
o Developed work requests to replace damaged poles and change eligible light to LEDs
o Updated software to match current status of streetlights

Iowa State: Facilities Planning & Management Electrician Helper – Ames, IA 5/2016 – 5/2018
• Gained extensive knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) - examining and fixing alarms on VFDs and
generators; worked with contractors on related projects, as well as replacing fluorescent light fixtures with LEDs
• Installation of various motors for air handlers; Installation of VFDs to motors which originally ran on a single power
switch
• Gained knowledge on creating and repairing circuits in drives, control boxes, and circuit breakers

SENIOR DESIGN PROJECT

Capacitor Gun 8/2018
• Developed design of the capacitor gun and presented the concept to gain necessary professor sponsorship and
mentorship

ENGINEERING CLUB EXPERIENCE

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Club at Iowa State 8/2016 – 5/2017
• Designed and built the hardware component of a quadcopter with a team of engineering students
o Assessed the best method to assemble multiple components such as compass chip, accelerometer and Arduino
chip
o Led a team of seven engineering students
