PACKED WHITE SUGARS
Sachets Sugar
These are pouches produced for catering and hotels which
contain the right amount of fine refined sugar of one cup of tea
or coffee. Brown sugar is also packed in sachets for coffee;
tea etc. The sugar weight in each sachet is either 3gm or 7gm.

A sachet in which paper forms a narrow tube and it is heat


sealed at each end. Mostly refined sugar of <400micron is
packed for quick dispersion and dissolving.

Sugar Cubes

1. Sugar Cubes are small cubes of sugar of predetermined weight. Sugar cubes are
made with fine crystalline refined sugar.
2. A range of shapes are produced and marketed but most common is cubical with
sharp edge of 15mm X 15mm X 13mm size with a weight of gram.
3. Sugar cubes are mostly used for hot drink due to its quick dissolving properties but
some times it is added with cold drinks also if slow dissolution is required.
4. The density of the cubes is to be kept as constant as possible. If it is too high, it will
reduce the porosity and if it is too low then it will increases the dissolved
completely without stirring.

Liquid Sugar
• The liquid sugars are aqueous solution of sucrose in different qualities.
• The brix of liquid sugars solution varies from 62% to 67%. Liquid sugar meets
high standards for micro biological quality.

Invert Sugar
• Commercial invert sugar is a liquid produced that contains equal amounts of
glucose and fructose.
• Invert sugar is used mainly by food manufacturers to retard the crystallization
of sugar and to retain moisture in the packaged food.
FLAVOURED SUGAR

Flavoured Sugars are made by adding flavoures of


different types as Mango, Lime, Orange, Cardamon,
Cinnamon etc to Pharma sugar with a grain size of 250
to 600 microns.

The flavoures are natural extracts of fruits or plant


source. These segment of sugar is increasingly popular
among indian consumers as these are ready to drink
category.
