Music
Festival and Theatrical Music
The beat of festival music is adopted from African musical style. It has fast and slow tempo. Different sizes
of drums are commonly used during festival dance presentation or competition. Lyres are idiophones
which is also commonly used in festival music. Percussion instruments like cymbals and chimes are used
during street dance competitions. Folk dance music can be a part of a festival music. Music plays an
important role in the story line or emotional settings of a theatrical presentation.

Festivals - A combination of religious and cultural activities celebrated yearly in different parts of the
country or world.
Moriones Festival - is annually held during Holy Week on the island of Marinduque
Sinulog - A celebration in honor of the Child Jesus and a dance ritual that commemorated the Cebuano
people’s pagan origin, and their acceptance of Christianity.
Kadayawan Festival - Its name derives from the friendly greeting “Madayaw,” from the Dabawenyo word
“dayaw” meaning good, valuable or beautiful.
Panagbenga Festival - created as a tribute to the city’s flower and as way to rise up from the devastation
of the 1990 earthquake
Bangus Festival - held on the month of May in Dagupan City, Pangasinan to promote their product
R.I.C.E. - Relax, Inhale, Calm, Exhale - should be given to anyone who gets a bruise, strain or sprain while
engaging in a physical activity

Allergy - a misguided reaction to foreign substances by the immune system.

Asthma – chronic lung disorder that causes airways to become inflamed, they swell and produce lots of
thick mucus
Acne – a disorder of the skin caused by inflammation of the skin glands and hair follicles.
A person who has Diabetes may experience sudden weight loss, excessive thirst and lack of energy.
Non-communicable diseases is NOT caused by pathogens.
Radiation Therapy – treatment of cancer which involves attacking the cancer cells with X-Rays.
Virus is NOT a causative factor for non-communicable disease
Breast Cancer – most common cancer among women
