1 Preparation of base flooring
SUB ACTIVITY
1‐Flooring shall be laid on base concrete of 
1:4:8 provided with adequate slope .
(In absence of concrete the earth shall be properly 
2‐The base concrete slab should be cleaned , 
wetted , mopped before commencement of the 
flooring .
3‐A bed of cement mortar having 1 part of cement 
and 4‐6 parts of sand is to be laid to a average 
thickness of 20mm and minimum thickness of 10 
mm for vitrified tiles ,minimum thickness bed for 
4‐Mortar should be spread tapped and leveled 
should be allowed to hardened sufficiently to 
offer a stiff base for tile to be set in place .
5‐Cement slurry of honey like consistency should be 
spread at the rate of 3.3 Kg cement /Sq.m.on which 
1‐The tile should be tapped till its properly set 
and level with the adjoining tiles .
2‐Joint should be kept as thin as possible 
spacers shall be used to have uniform joints .
1‐Joint shall be cleaned off grey cement off grey 
cement Slurry to a depth of 2‐3 mm and all dust 
and loose mortar shall be removed
2‐It shall be flush pointed with white cement with 
color pigment to match the color of the tile.
3‐For the granite slab cut the slab to the required 
GRANITE FLOORING
1‐The bedding mortar shall be spread over the
 base concrete under each individual slab .
2‐The granite slab is then put over it gently 
pressed with the wooden rammer and leveled .

3 Finishing
3‐The mortar is allowed to hardened slightly 
and cement slurry of honey like consistency at 
the rate of 4.4Kg of cement per Sq.m. shall be spread 
over the mortar
1‐The edges of the slab laid in place is smeared 
with cement paste and then the next slab is laid 
and placed in position .
2‐Gently pushed and tapped till its properly 
bedded and leveled with the adjoing slab , with 
s fine joints as possible
1‐The cement paste that might ooze out is
