For the past few year National University has recorded an elevated number of employees.
The recent count of over 4000 enrollees in BS degrees alone is a little above the average
considering the school's capacity, area, and the fact that no 1st years nor 2nd year students are
enrolled for this year due to the K-12 program that was recently implemented. If the level of

Level 4 Accreditation
Just recently, PACUCOA has granted the NU College of Nursing, a Level 1 Accreditation.
Through the Level 1 accreditation, the said academic program was granted Level 1 benefits such
as “full administrative deregulation and financial deregulation in terms of setting tuition, other fees
and charges (“PACUCOA grants NU,” 2017, p.2).” The steps for accreditation include: preliminary
visit, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 visits. Ten years from now, National University-Manila
can most likely acquire Level 4 accreditation to programs which are currently Level 1 accredited;
however, those programs which are not yet Level 1 accredited are uncertain to acquire Level 4.
Technically, it may require one to two years for preliminary visit to Level 1. For application to Level
2, at least 6 months before the end of the three-year Level 1 accreditation; for Level 3, within two
years after grant of Level 2; finally for Level 4, six months before the end of the five-year Level 3
accreditation (“PACUCOA policies and accreditation,” n.d.). If in case, PACUCOA does not
suspend the granting of accreditation for compliance purposes and the University applies on a
timely basis, current Level 1 accredited programs have a high chance of getting to Level 4. For
instance, College of Nursing is already set to apply on January 2018. If the application for the
accreditation continues to be quick in case similar to that of College of Nursing (2 years and four

SM Malls. The University will be known as an education center for business courses and controls
branches catering to at least 5,000 students. With these plans, given a ten-year strategic span, it
could be possible that NU will open internationally accredited courses in business, with the help
of the partnerships with British educational institutions, known for giving quality business
education. In line with courses provided by British universities, possible business courses may

Structures
The continuous development of quality education of National University- Manila (NU-Manila) has
been emphasized by Hans Sy through progressive effort of building an educational institution for
the country that centralized in business. To fulfill this, he set his plan for expansion of National
University around ten (10) schools/campuses in fifteen (15) years. These ten schools include the
school to be built in Bacolod (Pedrosa, 2017). The SM Group of Companies also plans expansions
of National University to every SM branch in the country. With these plans, National University

Through the years of its evolution, it already has surpassed and will always retain a
university. The National University will cater more students from other schools, considering a
larger number of branches in the country and a better curriculum through compliance to
PACUCOA. In ten years, most likely the institution will remain a University.
