Act as scribe for an Incident Investigation using a Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)

Attend Factory Acceptance Tests and validate that: testing rig is calibrated; equipment
operates at design parameters/operating envelope; all records and certifications are

Collect operating data and analyse for deviation from operation envelope; understand the
plant/equipment integrity implications; where appropriate make recommendations to return
an item to operation within acceptable parameters (Days:5 Min/30 Max)
Participate in (by providing input and following the process) or coordinate a pre-start-up
safety review of an MoC or project (Days:1 Min/10 Max)
Participate in a drill or actual emergency response and become familiar with process and
procedures used (Days:1 Min/10 Max)
Participate in teardowns, inspections, and overhauls of relevant plant and equipment: collect
operating data and analyse for deviation from operation envelope; understand the
plant/equipment integrity implications; make recommendations to return an item to
operation within acceptable parameters (Decommissioned)
Participate in the execution of a piece of work and become familiar with permit systems,
TBRA, planning activities, quality systems and personal safety management

Perform basic plant engineering - Walk the lines of a P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation
Diagram), working under permit; accompany the project or commissioning engineer on
daily rounds (Decommissioned)
Produce a start-up procedure that is safely used by Operations or review the application of

Supervise a work crew in the execution of a piece of work and become familiar with: Permit
systems; Task-Based Risk Assessment (TBRA); Planning activities; Quality systems;

Support the relief and flare system review, either RSP led or Region led by gathering actual
site installation data, PSV tag information, actual layout information, actual site testing and
inspection frequency and procedure.(Days:2 Min/20 Max)
Support the supervision of a work crew in the execution of a piece of work and become
familiar with: Permit systems; Task-Based Risk Assessment (TBRA); Planning activities;
Quality systems; Personal safety management (Decommissioned)
Walk the lines of a P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) to become familiar with
equipment and its representation on the diagram. If discrepancies arise, notify appropriate
parties for investigation/update (Days:5 Min/20 Max)
Work on shift with field-operating staff (eg work shadowing) to gain an understanding of the
physical and human aspects of operations (Days:2 Min/20 Max)
