ABSTRACT

Diabetes mellitus is chronic disease that could not be healed. Prevalence of the diabetes
mellitus type II is expected to increase every year. Diabetes sufferer is required to comply
with a series of lifelong treatment, such as consuming oral hypoglycemic drugs. The
compliance in using oral hypoglycemic drugs could control blood sugar levels and maintain
quality of patient life of the diabetes mellitus sufferer type II. Satisfaction is one of the factors
that could affect oneʼs compliance. The average compliance of patientʼs long-term therapy
user toward the chronic disease in developed countries only 50%, while in developing
countries the average compliance of the patient is lower than 50%. The purpose of the
research is to know the relation of drug service satisfaction level in outpatient polyclinic
toward the drug using compliance to the diabetes mellitus patient type II.

This research is a type of observational analytic research which uses cross sectional
approach. The sampling techniques that is used is nonprobability sampling, the method that is
used are incidental sampling and tabel krecjie. To measure the satisfaction level, the
researcher uses SERVQUAL questionnaire and to measure the compliance level, the
researcher uses MARS questionnaire. The data obtained are analyzed using chis square.
