S 0117 Benzothiarsolium Cations: Evidence for pπ-Bonding Between Ar- 45 - 224 senic and Sulfur in the First Structurally Characterized Arsenium System. — Tetrachloroaluminate salts of benzothiazarsolium (II) and benzodithiarsolium (III) are conveniently prepared by usual halide ion ab- straction from the corresponding chloroarsoles. Spectroscopic data including X-ray data (space group: P21/c with Z = 4 for both the new thiaza deriva- tives) indicate that the cations represent the first examples of stable systems containing As–S p-π-bonding. — (BURFORD, N.; PARKS, T.
