How to update the Analyst 3Q Software

1) Install, first you have to install the “ Flash update” Software called “FLUP”
or

Start the Setup.exe and follow the instructions of the install program.

2) Please follow the Flash Update Installation:

Confirm the suggested directory, if you want you can install it in another directory.

the Program automatically creates an icon


wait until the installation is finished

3) Start the Program either with double click on the icon or from the Start menu.

If the COM port is wrong , please use the set-up button


Port and selectthe right COM port, the one where the Analyst is plugged in. For
connecting the Analyst to the computer use the supplied RS232 cable and a free COM
port on your computer.

Note: you can also use any standard RS232 9-pole 1:1direct connection cable.
By using the button “File”, it is possible to choose the firmware file you want to upload
Choose the file, for example
V3.13ESP.h86 and click Open.
If all settings are done right the button should be black, if
it is grey the settings are wrong.

Now make sure that the instrument (Analyst 3Q) is connected to the right COM port and
switch the instrument on. Now the display of the instrument has to remain blank. If this is
not the case try switching OFF and On again or check the RS232 cable. Press the button
Program, now the Loading starts .

Please pay attention to the supply of the instrument, make sure that the battery is full or
connect to external supply.

Please wait until loading is finished.


Now close the port by using the
Close Port button.
If you now switch the Instrument on
it should start correctly. In the
Instrument Menu under Instrument
Set-up – Version & Calibration you
can control the Firmware Version, if
the upload was successful the new
Version number (R2.0) should be
displayed.
4) Problems: if there are any problem while running the uploading e.g. connection failure,
software crash down, until the up load is finished.
Please disconnect the Analyst and start the Program again.
If the Analyst doesn’t display anything after disconnecting and switching on, don’t be
scared that’s normal.

Please repeat step “3) Start the Program” and make sure that the program now finishes
the upload.
