BACKGROUND

v Here we will specifically compare seismic load with related parameters such as, seismic factor
zone, structural importance factor, soil factor, response reduction factor, time period,
normalized response acceleration spectrum and seismic weight for RC and steel structures in
accordance to BNBC-2015.

v According to NBCC -2005 these parameters get changed. Thus we will calculate base shear
for RC and steel structure as it is the simplest way to compare the final result.

v This study will be helpful in deciding effective structural system for seismic loading of a
multistory building in Bangladesh comparing to NBCC.
OBJECTIVES
Ø To become familiar with BNBC – 2015 & NBCC – 2005.

Ø To conduct structural analysis of multistory building using

RC and steel for seismic loading.

Ø Comparing similarities and differences between BNBC 2015

& NBCC 2005 on basis of Seismic Loading for RC Structure
and Steel Structure.
