Record of Field Experiences

At Camelot, I was in the fourth and fifth
grade resource room, while there I helped
Camelot children get caught up on assignments they

room had a hard time staying focused on the
task at hand.
At Kids World, I was placed in the infants’
Kids World room. There were 7 children under the age of

Brookings, SD feed and care for the infants as well as
keeping them busy and interacting with them.
At the Flandreau Indian School, I
participated in service learning through my
Human Relations course. I interacted with
Flandreau Indian several Native American high school

participated in programs such as character
and leadership, academic success, and
healthy lifestyles.
At the Fishback Center Preschool, I was an
assistant preschool teacher, in the 3 and 4

learning, planned one-on-one lessons with a
focus student, and performed assessments.
At this in-home daycare, I spent time
observing and assisting in the care of 12
infants and toddlers. I focused on the

daycare provider in caring for the children,
feeding the children, and implementing
engaging learning activities.
Hillcrest At Hillcrest Elementary School, I was placed
ECE 495 45 hours Elementary in a kindergarten classroom with 19 students.
School, I learned the overall routines and

worked alongside the cooperating teacher in
teaching lessons, assessments, one-on-one
reading, and assisted students as needed. I
created math and reading lessons and
implemented those lessons in the class as
whole group, small group, and individual
lessons. I also observed and assisted with a
program called S.M.A.R.T, where the
students engage their whole body in the
learning process.
For student teaching, I was placed in the
Fishback Center’s Kindergarten classroom.
There were 22 students in this class, and I
was assigned 8 students in my small group.

At Madison Central Elementary School, I
was placed in a first grade classroom to

Activities
During my time at the Boys & Girls Club, I
filled many positions. I began as a Youth
Development Specialist in Club 5, where I
assisted students with homework
assignments, implemented encouraging
reward systems, and maintained a safe and

became a full time Youth Development
Specialist and established relationships with
you ranging from 5 years old to 18 years old.
I advised education programs such as Torch
Club, Clubs Against Tobacco, and Power
Chef, where I followed a curriculum and
assessed the youth’s learning. I created
weekly program plans for the youth ranging
in categories from educational, nutritional,
physical, and social. I then implemented and
engaged the youth in those activities,
alongside my coworkers. I then became the
Power Up Lead Teacher for the Boys & Girls
Club. With this position, I assisted in the
testing of youth in both reading and math
with pre and post testing, designed and
implemented weekly lessons plans that
focused on hands-on activities and a project
based approach, and utilized classroom
management to establish a safe learning
environment.
I provided child care for a family that was
new to the Brookings community, with a 3
year-old and 9 month-old . While in this role,
I prepared nutritional meals for the family,
transported the toddler to and from preschool

toddler and infant in educational activities at
The Children’s Museum of South Dakota and
the Brookings Public Library, and I
implemented educational games and
activities within their home.
Within the Madison Central School District, I
served as a substitute teacher in the
Elementary School and the Middle School. I
worked with students ranging from

kindergarten to eighth grade. I assisted in
maintaining the full time teacher’s lesson
plans and covering the full time teacher’s
responsibilities.
At Trinity Lutheran Church, I served as a
Sunday School teacher for a preschool class

teacher in activities with the youth, regarding
religion based lessons.
I served as a youth mentor for two
Moody County individuals in second and third grade. I

these individuals in any way I could.
