Letter of Recommendation

May 29th 2018

To Whom It May Concern:

Jordan Melenhorst began her third practicum experience in my class last year, and I have had the
opportunity to work with her as her supervising teacher throughout her third year of study at the
Australian Catholic University, Brisbane.

Jordan’s enthusiasm, professional well organised manner and initiative were three things that
impressed me about Jordan from the first time we met.

Jordan came into our school and classroom excited about becoming a teacher. This enthusiasm
and excitement has been evident in all that she has done. No task asked of her was too much. She
was, and still is, always willing to listen to and adhere to any advice given.

Jordan’s fine work in the classroom owes itself to the professional attitude she displays to her
teaching. The fact that she always takes the time to give positive reflection to anything that she
takes on, is to be commended. She has always had her university, practicum and classroom work
well organised and planned. She shows an outstanding knowledge and understanding of the KLAs
and has implemented a number of her ideas effectively into the real classroom situation.

Jordan’s use of various teaching strategies has made her lessons both interesting and beneficial to
her students. Her belief that if children are motivated and interested, they will learn more
effectively, is commendable and plays a strong role in the positive relationship she has developed
with her students.

From this organisation emerges one of Jordan’s finest strengths, her initiative to make learning
interesting and exciting for her students. In trying to achieve this, Jordan has always shown a
willingness to try new and motivating strategies in her classroom teaching. Not only has Jordan
proven to be an innovative teacher but also one who continually evaluates the learning of her
students and the impact she has on them.

Jordan’s initiative, enthusiasm and professionalism have been continually at a high level. She came
into our school ready to learn from all those she met. In the classroom she has built up a
wonderful rapport with the children by being interested in their lives, progress, successes and
failures and by not being afraid to put in the extra effort to make learning exciting and meaningful.
Jordan has shown to possess many creative talents which will greatly benefit her as a future
classroom teacher and any school lucky enough to have her as a member of their own staff.

I would recommend Jordan Melenhorst for any position and would be only too pleased to give
further information if required.

Yours sincerely,

Chloe Puglisi

To Whom It May Concern,

Jordan Melenhorst was an Australian Catholic University pre-service teacher assigned to my Year 6
class at St Ita’s Regional Primary School from 8th May to 18th June, 2018.

During this time, Jordan proved herself to be competent in the teaching and management of the
students and displayed a genuine interest in, and empathy for, the students as individuals. She
developed a strong positive relationship with the children in a relatively short time. Jordan sought
and acted upon feedback on her planning and delivery of lessons and classroom management.

Jordan was cordial and respectful in her interactions with all staff members. She was punctual and
well-prepared, and made herself available for any professional development opportunity. Jordan
attended our three-day Year 6 camp, capably acted as a leader for a cabin group, participated in the
many and varied physical activities offered, and implemented an entertaining evening of activities
for the entire cohort.

I am happy to make myself available to act as a referee for Jordan and can be contacted at my work
email address –rmowen@bne.catholic.edu.au

Yours faithfully,

Rachel Mowen

To Whom It May Concern:

I strongly encourage you to consider Jordan Melenhorst for a position in

your school. She has been studying Primary Education and would like to
teach in the Catholic system as her faith has helped to form the person she
has become.

I would particularly want to draw your attention to her faithful and

reliable work as a volunteer leader for Children's Liturgy at St Finbarr's
Church at Ashgrove in the Jubilee Parish. Jordan has been involved in this
since moving back to Brisbane in January 2018. The organizer of our
Children's Liturgy and I have found her to be willing to take initiative and
to be very obliging when we are looking for someone to do the extra of
covering a fifth Sunday. She has a happy personality who truly enjoys
being involved in this ministry. Jordan delights in working with the
children teaching them in fun and exciting ways such that they better
understand the gospel message and the virtues contained within them.

Therefore I strongly recommend you consider Jordan for placement

within your school.

You sincerely,

Rev. G. Kalinowski

To whom it may concern,

Jordan Melenhorst has been a Maths Tutor for my daughter for the past two terms.
She has been an excellent educator and role model and seems to have experience beyond her years in
this area.
Before Jordan came to work with my daughter, her grades were down. After a short amount of time my
daughters confidence have gone up and the feedback from her teachers has been excellent.
I have also previously called upon Jordan as a trusted child carer, she is extremely trustworthy and
fantastic with children, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

Kind Regards
