Introduction..

In these report are taken some data with random selection to design
a simple experiment to determine the Men are taller than women.
In these report taken 5 samples for men and 5 samples for women.

Method
To design experiment there are several steps as follows:
1. Motivation
To illustrate experiment design and data analysis
2. Specific research question
Are men taller than women on average?
H0: μm ≤ μfvs. Ha: μm > μf

μm: tall of men

μf : tall of women

3. Independent Variable
Between subjects, male/female
4. Dependent Variable
Height in inches (or cm)
5. Number of subjects?
6. Distributions? Sample means? Inferences?

1
If these samples are selected random
Men 1.86 1.64 1.70 1.60 1.50
Women 1.40 1.50 1.45 1.30 1.55

Results
By using Minitab the result will be :-

Two-Sample T-Test and CI: Men, Women

Two-sample T for Men vs Women

N Mean StDev SE Mean

Men 5 1.660 0.133 0.060
Women 5 1.4400 0.0962 0.043

Difference = μ (Men) - μ (Women)

Estimate for difference: 0.2200

95% CI for difference: (0.0504, 0.3896)

T-Test of difference = 0 (vs ≠): T-Value =

2.99 P-Value = 0.017 DF = 8

Both use Pooled StDev= 0.1163

Conclusion
From this data we can see p-value =0.017 < 0.05 selection H1
then men are taller than women.
