Network Installation Installer Operating Environment

To perform Network Installation, activate the dedicated installer on the PC and transfer the Windows 2000, Windows XP
installation data via a network.
The installer adds the HD storage destination data etc. to the installation data as PJL Equipment Required for Network Installation
(Printer Job Language) during transfer.
- A LAN-ready PC
Note Since FTP protocol is used for installation data transfer, the 6204
- LAN cross-cable
FTP port must be enabled. (Refer to "6.10.4.2 System Settings
List")
The following shows the overview of Network Installation. <Firmware Preparation>
Download the firmware and save it on a PC.
1. Download the 6204 firmware from the TSC/ESG Home page.

If the download process for a module has failed, the process will not be re-executed and
download of the next module will be executed. In this case, the box is also inverted. In
addition, no errors are displayed until all modules have been downloaded.

If the download to any module has failed, an error code appears on the Control Panel.
Note Even if more than one error has occurred, only one error code (the
one that was detected first) is displayed.
Refer to "Error! Reference source not found." to check for the error description and
corrective action. Perform the installation again after turning 6204 OFF then ON to
restart it.

8. Turn the 6204 OFF then ON.
Note After turning the power OFF, make sure that the machine has
completely shut down before turning it ON again.
Note When the installation has completed, turn the power OFF then ON to
restart it.
9. Enter the Self Diagnosis (Diag) mode to execute DC108 SOFTWARE LEVELS for the
UI, IIT, CP-Cont, and IOT sub systems to check that each version is correct.

10. Check that settings such as job memory, specification settings, logical printers, system
settings, CE-MENU, mailboxes, etc. are correct.
