EVIDENCE: WRITING MY PERSONAL STATEMENT

● Introduction

Hi, I am Jose, since two decades of my life I have seen many projects in engineering
and I was fascinated with the buildings, the machines and the huge stuff that the human
race had created. In this time is necessary that people have their fascination and
excited for engineering things when they were child, for create a huge amount of
beautiful and new things for improving the human life in the present. For this manly
reason I want to apply for the program of Master in Mechanical Engineering. (MEng)

● Work and study experience connected to the field of study of the course or
program you are applying to.

I always had been interested in a theoretical way for Maths and Sciences, but only
when I started my industrial education in the Central Technical Institute “La Salle”, I
felt that connection with Mechanical Engineering. I studied Industrial Mechanical,
where I learned about Technical Drawing, Manufacturing Process and the uses of
Machine Tools as Metal Lathe, Milling Machine and Drill Press. After that I started in
the Distital University in Bogota, in the career Mechanical Engineering, where I focused
in the Technical Drawing and CAD design (Computer Aided Design). Then I started
working at SENA in a internship university, I did technical drawing in many CAD
programs as SolidWords, Inventor and AutoCAD. And after this work I worked in a
company of Plastic Machine, drawing more complex machines and create new designs
for future machines.

● Professional skills and personality.

I realized that I was a passionate student when I started my undergraduate career,

looking for many solutions with the constant problems that appear in a short or long
run. I’m very optimistic because you can learn for any lesson, when you get a 5.0 or
you design a new and special machine or when you screw out and get a 0.0 or you
damaged a machine and the company lost time and money. You always have learned
a lesson, for improving or for maintaining the rhythm.

I recently feel passionate and very demanding with the languages learning. I have a
goal: “Before of 30, I’m able to speak 5 languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Arabic
and French. I stated feel that, when I met the conversation clubs where I learn many
points of view about how the world works outside of Colombia and how you can
improve in a labor way and in a personal way. Specially in the Engineering when the
language is so important for receive and give idea to the world.
● Conclusion
I am very hopeful that my studies are to the MIT, and you can find interesting this
Personal Statement for include me for part of this huge community commitment for the
development of the humankind, and my efforts and resources can continue this legacy
of creation, innovation and novelty. Another interests for me are the entrepreneur
company linked with the engineering for create a profitable business that in the same
time improving the engineering.
