TECHNICAL DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT OF SOLIF WASTE OF SOLOK

REGENCY

This study aims to identify waste management practices in Solok Regency and see the
readiness of communities and governments to improve existing waste management systems by
applying the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3R) approaches. From the data collected it is known
that the total waste generation of Solok Regency is 1,338.75 m3 / day which still relies on
Final Disposal Site (FDS) as the final waste processing site which only serve 6% of the total
waste generated. To apply 3R method through Waste Management Site with principle of 3R
(WSM3R) 80% of society ready to participate in retribution and active become waste
processing. To be successful the government must build WSM3R, provide its technical
personnel and finance its operations and maintenance by cooperating with third parties.
