Objective
The Education Program shall adopt an open admission policy. Applicants for admission shall
be duly screened on the basis of the senior high school class standing/grade point average, interviews
and other appropriate means. Retention in the Education program likewise demands the attainment of
its objectives:
A. Admission
A. All incoming first year Education students must meet the following requirements:
1. A minimum senior high school grade point average of 80;
2. Must have passed the admission interview.
4. He/She should take the competency appraisal examination in the area of General Education.
B. Transferees
1. If the student fails the required grade in a certain subject, this subject will not be credited but
transferees shall reenroll the said subject.
3. He/She shall be given one (1) semester as probationary period.
4. He/She should take the competency appraisal examination for validation.
B. Retention
The continued stay of an Education student within the Education Program requires a grade of
80% in all subjects.
When a student gets into any situation below, the corresponding action will be applied:
1. Students must not have any grade lower than 80% or 3.0 in all general and professional
subjects. If the student fails the required grades in a certain subject, the student shall reenroll
the said subject. The student is only required to repeat the failed subject once only. Failure for
the second time, Section B 2.1 will apply.
2. A failing mark in any of the academic subjects (to exclude P.E, ROTC and NSTP) can take
full semestral curriculum load, however, if they still obtain a failing mark the following
semester, their next semester load shall only be limited to not more than twenty one (21) units.
2.1 Two (2) failing marks in any of the academic subjects, shall only be allowed to a
maximum load of eighteen (18) units.
2.2 Three (3) failing marks on the board subjects taken shall be advised to shift to
another program.
2.3 Students who incur a grade of 9.0 or dropped corresponding to 9 units or more in
one academic term will be subject to validation of reasonable cause, if not, subject to
transfer to another program.
C. Thesis/ Portfolio
1. A graduating student should submit one (1) hardbound copy of his/her portfolio to the
Education Office, and one (1) hardbound copy of his/her thesis to the Research Office and the
Education office.
