Where do they crap?
The Hondurans in the caravan, the 7,000 people walking north to America, where do they
go to the bathroom? And eat and sleep and store their clothes? And how is it that after a
week on the road they are clean and their hair and clothes are well kept? How is any of this
possible? And why do these people, supposedly fleeing intolerable conditions in their
homeland, carry little flags from their homeland and break into its national anthem when
the TV cameras show up? And speaking of which, for oppressed people, they all seem to be
pretty well fed, well groomed and well dressed. Their hair is neat and newly cut, their
clothes are clean and in good repair, and they are built like people who have had ample
nutrition all their lives, being well developed and, many of them, overweight.
And none of them look dirty or unkempt, like they had been sleeping on the ground for the
last week. There's just nothing in any of this that makes sense.
Supposedly, these several thousand people spontaneously decided to leave Honduras,
walking north in a group, hoping to trek the length of gang-plagued Mexico and present
themselves as refugees and prospective Democrats at the American border.
Which, again, makes no sense whatsoever. And leaves a lot of big questions unanswered,
they covered 500 miles in a week? Seriously. Any number of American "reporters" have
walked beside a sympathetic walker and talked about how this particular woman and her
children had trekked half a thousand miles over the last week or so.
That's 71 miles a day.
How have 7,000 people been fed and watered? And how have they gone to the bathroom?
If the average person across the world produces about a pound of solid waste a day, that
means that these folks are somehow disposing of more than three tons of feces each day.
That's a heck of a lot of crap, even for a Central American roadway. Provisioning such an
army of people – the equivalent of 10 combat battalions in most of the world's militaries –
people moving is a massive chore which the press says nothing about. The entire enterprise,
as a spontaneous ad hoc event, is implausible. As an orchestrated international attempt to
influence an American election, it starts to make sense. And ought to alarm us.
Unless it's only Russians we don't want screwing with our democracy.
Unfortunately, none of this has made the evening news. It's almost as if the press, in what-
ever scheme is afoot, gladly accepts its role as propagandists to the American people.
Every story is sympathetic, as if an attempt to enlist viewers and readers in this caravan and
the politics it symbolizes. And so the story is not about an orchestrated attempt to manipu-
late electoral opinion and violate the borders and laws of the United States, it is about com-
passion and Trump and xenophobia and racism. It is the October surprise, it is the Blue
Wave. And it is all nonsense. Because all of these people, if legitimate, have the ability to
apply for American asylum in their own country – as do the residents of most nations of the
world. We have consulates and embassies for a reason, and this is one of those reasons.
We also have laws and an oath of office for a reason.
Laws, so that "we the people" through our elected representatives clearly and
exercise their sovereignty. Disobedience to law is disobedience to the will of the people, it
is the subverting of their sovereignty and franchise. Breaking the law is denying you the
vote. Your vote elects representatives – lets you pick the country's direction – and the
representatives write the law. If that law is ignored, your representation becomes
meaningless. You get screwed. And the oath of office?
Members of Congress – even Democrats – swear an oath to "bear true faith and allegiance"
to the Constitution, which establishes our system of laws and specifically charges the
Congress with making the rules of naturalization and immigration. Who comes across the
border and under what conditions they can stay is a constitutional responsibility of the
Congress. That is to be determined by a congressional vote, not by a Honduran mob.
Failure to insist on that – even for Democrats – is a violation of your congressman's oath of
office. So there is not a Democrat or Republican response to this travelling army of
invaders – there is only an American response. And that is: Turn around and go home.
Because the law of the United States does not allow a mass entry like this. The law does
not declare the borders open. If Democrats and progressives don't like that, they can try to
change the law. If America's progressives want open borders and believe all the world's
people have a right to live in the United States – as they say they do – then they should
adjust immigration law accordingly. But until then, if they are to keep their oaths of office,
they must stand for the law and the border. And they must tell their surrogates to turn
around and go home. Because this caravan is nothing more than a bunch of political crap.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OFFERS PLAN TO
SAVE PATIENTS $17.2 BILLION
Wants prescription prices brought into line with costs in other countries
The Trump administration Thursday offered a proposal that is estimated to save American
taxpayers and patients some $17.2 billion over five years, through a new “International
Pricing Index” that would guide the prices of prescription drugs.
Under the model, Medicare’s payments for select physician-administered drugs should move to
a level that would be aligned closely with the prices in other countries, according to announce-
ment from the Health and Human Services Department.
“President Trump promised that he would bring down drug prices and put American
patients first,” explained HHS Secretary Alex Azar. “With this innovative approach, he is now
proposing historic changes to how Medicare pays for some of the most expensive prescription
drugs, securing for the American people a share of the price concessions that drug makers
voluntarily give to other countries.”
The proposal would shift the costs from the current payment levels to a standard “based on in-
ternational prices,” and would be phased in over several years, officials said.
Physicians now purchase the drugs that they administer to patients and receive payment from
Medicare for those drugs at an amount equal to the average sales price plus an “add-on” fee, the
federal agencies explained.
The problem, though, is that the dollar amount of the add-on increases with the price of the
drug, which encourages prescribing higher-cost drugs. Also, Medicare accepts sales prices for
Part B drugs, with no negotiation.
But pharmaceuticals offer deep discounts overseas.
The new plan would bring domestic and overseas prices closer together.
The administration said the plan would cut costs for Medicare beneficiaries, introduce
competition to the system, remove incentives for higher priced drugs and more.
Trump said, “At long last the drug companies and foreign countries will be held accountable for
how they rigged the system against American consumers. This is a revolutionary change.
Nobody’s had the courage to do it or they just didn’t want to do it. And this is a change for the
people. This is not a change for industry or for companies or for pharma. This is a change for
the people. It will be substantially a reduction in drug prices for our people and our senior citi-
zens. Tremendous, tremendous difference.”
Azar took to social media to explain “the current international pricing system has put America
in last place.”
He said Medicare spent about $8 billion more for drugs in the study than if the prices paid by
the program were scaled to international prices.
But CBS reported there likely would be opposition from not only the drug makers but also
the doctors.

Fall is finally in the air and the beautiful season was most welcoming at the
5th annual city festival “Bayfest” on Saturday October 27 th, a perfect day for
all the arts/crafts and information vendors as well as the wonderful food
vendors. The day began with a 5-K Run of the Port, a Disc Golf
Tournament, Kids Zone with Giggles the Clown Face Painting, a great Taste
of the Bay Cook-off, Pony Rides, Mullet Toss and entertainment throughout
the afternoon, if you missed this year’s event you should definitely put it on
your calendar for next year- the committee will be meeting for planning
shortly after the first of the year.
Word was given at the recent city council meeting that DOT is surveying
and working on expanding Highway 20 to 4 lanes from Okaloosa County
Line to the Bay County Line and the project will begin in Freeport-

The new storage facility and Splash Pad at the Freeport Regional Sports
Complex will begin soon as plans have been approved by the council. The
first reading of the NO WAKE Zone at Marina Village was presented and
the purchase of a new truck for the water department was approved. The
subject of council seat districts was discussed and will be brought back with
recommendations as to how it should be divided up throughout Freeport.
The annual Veteran’s Day Memorial Ceremony will be held on November
12th beginning at 2:00 pm, so mark your calendars as we unveil the newest
monument “Walk of War” and a Ribbon Cutting will be held at the new
ACE Hardware on Friday November 9th at 8:00 am please mark your
calendars and come and join as we welcome them to Freeport. Come and
visit the Heritage Museum on Saturday November 3rd and shop the Freeport
Market Day from 7:00 am-2:00 pm over 14 vendors sharing their wares,
perfect time to begin the holiday season.
The city is currently in search of business, individuals or group who would
be interested in putting a Christmas Tree in the Festival of Trees to be held
on the first weekend of December contact myself if you are interested and

The City Council will only be meeting one time in November and December
- November meeting is scheduled for November 13 th at 9:00 am and the
December meeting will be held on December 11 at 9:00 am, it’s hard to
believe that the holidays are right here on us.

Judge Judy says, “There’s a reason God gave you two ears and one mouth”, and I couldn’t
agree more with my favorite TV judge. But more so, the reason to listen would be as the
Bible states, “know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to
speak, slow to anger”. If we could all slow down for a moment, and follow Jesus by
listening closely, saying very little, and not angering so easily, the world around us would be
at peace.
A few years ago, I noticed that I didn’t listen to people. I had my opinion. That was the most
important and you better hear it. To become the person God wanted me to be, I needed to
listen to people. Sounds easy, but it’s not. Sometimes, I still want to finish a person’s story
for them, or insert my version into theirs, and I must stop myself. I notice that if I stop and
listen, the story is interesting and typically not going in the direction I thought it was.
I’ve also noticed that all people want is to be heard. I’ve sat and talked with people
threatening suicide and after listening for an hour, maybe saying 10 words, they hugged me
and thanked me for the conversation. It was not a conversation, just me listening.
Stop interrupting your friends. Listen to everyone you talk to, especially someone going
through a difficult time.
Don’t lecture anyone, but simply let them get their thoughts off their chest and don’t make
every conversation about you.

DeFuniak Springs Postponed
Annual holiday event being
rescheduled
DeFuniak Springs, FL…The 2018 annual Tour of
Homes in DeFuniak Springs, originally scheduled
for December 1, is postponed. Organizers say that
visitors east of Walton County who traditionally
purchase tickets to the event are severally impacted
this year from Hurricane Michael and not likely to
attend. This year’s event is orchestrated by Partners
In Progress in collaboration with the Chautauqua
Hall of Brotherhood Foundation.
Proceeds from the 2018 Tour of Homes were going
to support the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood
Foundation, a nonprofit organization which raises
funds for the restoration and preservation of the
Defuniak Springs.

Officials identify 26th case of viral outbreak
New Jersey health officials say they've confirmed another case of
adenovirus in an outbreak at a pediatric rehabilitation center that
left nine people dead.
The Health Department said in a statement Monday the new di-
agnosis brings the total number of adenovirus cases at the
Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation to 26.
The agency says the most recent individual became sick on or
before Oct. 22, which remains the last day when a patient
showed new symptoms.
The outbreak won't be declared over until the center can go four
weeks without patients being newly infected.
The department says there have been eight pediatric deaths asso-
ciated with the outbreak and at least one young adult.
Adenovirus usually poses little risk for healthy people.

New Jersey health officials are sending infection-control teams
to four long-term pediatric centers and a hospital to assist with
training amid viral and bacterial outbreaks that killed a combined
10 people.
Health Commissioner Dr. Shereef Elnahal said in a statement
Monday the teams will assess infection prevention practices and
deploy beginning in November.
They will deploy to University Hospital in Newark; the Wanaque
Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Haskell; the Voorhees
Pediatric Facility, and the Children's Specialized Hospital, with
locations in Toms River and Mountainside.
Elnahal says the deployments are in response to this month's
fatal outbreaks.
Nine mostly young people died at the Wanaque center amid an
adenovirus outbreak.

How to Fall out of Love
Love can be downright inconvenient. Maybe you’ve found yourself in
love with someone who doesn’t love you back, or you still have strong
feelings for an ex even though you ended the relationship. Or perhaps
you’re happily partnered but struggling with attraction to someone else.
What can you do if your heart is pulled in a very counterproductive
direction?
First, let me state the obvious: Our hearts have minds of their own, so we
can’t decide exactly when to start or stop loving someone.
That said, we may have more control over our feelings than we realize.
Emotions, thoughts, and actions are closely linked, as I emphasize in my
“Think Act Be” approach. We can influence our feelings by addressing
our thinking patterns and behaviors, which are more directly under our
control.
Here are some techniques that can help you fall out of love.
Avoid contact with the person if at all possible. Romantic attraction is
very similar to addiction in a lot of ways, and you might need a detox
period to flush the person out of your system. The withdrawal may be
painful at first; over time you’ll thank yourself for creating the space you
needed to break the addiction.
Stop checking the person’s social media accounts. “Contact” with the
person includes checking their latest posts. I know, you just want to see
what they’ve been up to or if they’ve found somebody new.
Resist the temptation.
Practice mindful awareness of your emotions. Part of mindfulness is
taking a step back and observing our feelings, rather than getting lost in
them. Recognize that the emotions don’t define you, and in a real sense
aren’t you—they’re experiences you’re having, and you certainly don’t
have to act on them.
Be mindful of your music choices. Notice if the music you listen to
encourages you to let go or keeps pulling you back in. Resist the urge to
listen to music that reinforces your emotional attachment.
Be curious about your attraction. Was it really about the other person?
Or about a need they seemed to satisfy in you? Or perhaps about the
person you imagined you’d be with them? Often we’re attracted to people
because we like who we are around them. Consider that your attraction has
at least as much to do with you as with the other person.
Take off your rose-colored glasses. Pay attention to your thoughts about
this person, which most likely are unrealistically positive. Whether you
hadn’t gotten to know them well enough to discover their faults or you’ve
just temporarily forgotten their shortcomings, explore the possibility that
the idealized person you’re pining for may be in large part a fantasy.
And finally, have compassion on yourself.
Don’t beat yourself up if you give into urges to check the person’s
Facebook page, for example. It’s hard when you can’t be with someone
you really care about. Just remember that the greatest kindness to yourself
may be practicing the thoughts and actions that enable you to let go.

Mob boss Whitey Bulger was 'beaten to
death in his cell'
Infamous gangster James "Whitey" Bulger was "unrecognizable" after he was beaten to death in
his cell by fellow inmates, reports say.
His body was discovered wrapped in a sheet after he failed to turn up for breakfast on Tuesday.
Reuters reported that the 89-year-old had been so badly beaten he was bleeding from his ears.
A prison employee, who has not been named, told the news agency that CCTV images show two
men entered Bulger's cell less than 24 hours after he arrived at the jail in a wheelchair.
Once one of America's most wanted fugitives, Bulger was jailed in 2013 for being complicit in
11 murders.
His conviction followed 16 years on the run and his notoriety inspired several movies.
Jack Nicholson's character in The Departed was based on the career criminal, and he was played
by Johnny Depp in the biographical film Black Mass.
The FBI has confirmed it is investigating the death, which a prison official said is being treated
as murder.
Bulger's body was found so badly beaten that he was "unrecognisable", the New York Times
reports.
Officials have not given a cause of death.
The Bureau of Prisons said no other inmates or staff were injured.
Bulger was reportedly moved to the Hazelton prison after spending only a week in an Oklahoma
jail.
He had been moved there from a prison in Florida.
It is not known why Bulger had been forced to change jails so often recently.
JW Carney Jr, a lawyer who once represented the criminal, said in a statement that he "was sen-
tenced to life in prison, but as a result of decisions by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, that sen-
tence has been changed to the death penalty".

North Carolina pair charged with 'improper

High school football player injured in game dies
A football player at a Georgia high school has died from a severe brain injury. News outlets
report Pike County High School student Dylan Thomas was hurt during a game Friday night
and flown to a hospital in critical condition. Thomas’ uncle, Nick Burgess, says Thomas was
hit in the second quarter of the game and later collapsed on the sidelines when an arm and
leg went numb.

The judge called himself the "13th juror" in the case.
It's been less than a month since Paul Hamilton was convicted of felony
murder and aggravated assault charges.
According to a police report, Hamilton followed his nephew, Brandon Lay, to
an intersection in Hoschton in 2015 and shot him in the head for stealing a
bucket and silverware from his home.
Hamilton, a former magistrate judge, and his lawyers expected to appeal a life
sentence. Instead, retiring Senior Judge David Motes opened a rare door for
them last week, overturning the murder conviction and sending Hamilton
home on bond, with an ankle monitor and a chance for a new trial.
It was a decision the judge himself admits he has never made in more than two
decades on the bench, but it's a concept that is legal.
"Frankly, my honest opinion is, it's an abuse of what I would say is power.
That's an opinion. That's strong words, but you know, it's not something you
ever see," Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said. "No one won here in this
situation. Not a single person won and now we're having to sit back and fill
the pieces of what do we do next?"
When Hamilton was accused of the
murder, the state argued the intent was
clear, but on the day of sentencing, a
transcript shows Motes that noting he had
lost sleep over the conviction, felt he'd
made several errors during the trial and
questioned witness credibility. "And I have
never done this in 22 1/2 years, but the
court believes that it's sitting as the 13th
juror in this case," Motes said. "I cannot end
my career with what I believe to be an
injustice."
"I just about lost it. Everybody I tell is, like,
'Lisa, you're making that up. Nobody walks
out of jail after they're convicted of
murder,'" she said. "I chalk it up to
wanting to leave a legacy for doing the right
thing even if it wasn't the popular thing,"
legal analyst Esther Panitch said. "Judges
get it wrong sometimes. The ones who
take it very seriously will admit when
they're wrong and will do so before the
Court of Appeals forces them to."
The state has already appealed the retrial
and the defense said, "Justice will be
served." Prosecutors said they have a policy
not to comment on judges' decisions.

Trump plans to sign executive order curbing Migrants break through Guatemala border
birthright citizenship: gate that leads to Mexico
President Trump said in a newly released interview he plans to sign an executive order
ending so-called "birthright citizenship" for babies of non-citizens born on U.S. soil -- a
move that would mark a major overhaul of immigration policy and trigger an almost-
certain legal battle.
Birthright citizenship allows any baby born on U.S. soil to automatically be a
U.S. citizen.
The policy, which stems from a disputed but long-recognized interpretation of the 14th
Amendment, has given rise to what Trump considers abuse of the immigration
system. Trump told "Axios on HBO" that the U.S. is the only country in the world
"where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the
United States ... with all of those benefits."
Despite Trump's claim, the U.S. is not the only nation to have birthright citizenship, but
the policy is rare outside of the Americas. Trump called birthright citizenship
"ridiculous" and said that "it has to end."
Under current policy, anyone born in the U.S. – regardless of whether they are
delivered by a non-citizen or undocumented immigrant – is considered a citizen.
The interpretation has been blamed for so-called 'birth tourism' and chain migration.
The 14th Amendment states: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and
subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State
wherein they reside."
Trump, should he pursue the executive order, would face court challenges, and it
remains unclear whether he could prevail. Many legal scholars would argue such a
change requires a constitutional amendment. But some conservatives argue the existing
amendment holds room for interpretation.
Michael Anton, a former national security adviser for Trump, pointed out in July that
"there’s a clause in the middle of the amendment that people ignore or they misinterpret
– subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”
"What they are saying is, if you are born on U.S. soil subject to the jurisdiction of the
United States – meaning you’re the child of citizens or the child of legal immigrants,
then you are entitled to citizenship,” Anton told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson in July. “If
you are here illegally, if you owe allegiance to a foreign nation, if you’re the citizen of a
foreign country, that clause does not apply to you.”
The interview was released after Trump told Fox News that Central American migrants
who are approaching the U.S.-Mexico border in caravans are "wasting their time" and
vowed, "they are not coming in."
Trump spoke to "The Ingraham Angle" hours after the Pentagon announced it would
deploy some 5,200 troops to the southern border in what the commander of U.S.
Northern Command described as an effort to "harden the southern border" by stiffening
defenses at and near legal entry points.
"When they are captured, we don't let them out," Trump told host Laura Ingraham.
"We're not letting them out ... We're not catching, we're not releasing ... We're not
letting them into this country."
Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals judge James C. Ho, who was appointed by Trump, has
argued that it would be “unconstitutional” to change how the 14th amendment was
written and that the line subject to debate applies to the legal obligation of all foreigners
and immigrants to follow U.S. law, Axios reported.
