Face – to – Face Staff Development Workshop

Angela Clark

Fall 2018
Face to Face Staff Development Workshop – Angela Clark

Identification of Learning Problem

When my site supervisor, Mrs. Montford, and I started talking about the Staff

Development, she mentioned that the teachers wanted to learn how to collaborate with each other

using Google. I sent out a survey to the teachers at J. D. Dickerson Primary School. Like Mrs.

Montford had said, the teachers wanted to learn more about Google. I chose Google Slides and

Google Classroom for the Workshop.

Learner Analysis

J. D. Dickerson Primary consists of Pre-K through 1st grade. I emailed all the teachers.

Those that responded were mostly veteran teachers. One teacher had moved from 3rd grade to 1st

grade this year. About 85 % percent said they knew enough to get by and 15 % said that their

students knew more. Only 41% said they use Google Slides and 16% said they used Google

Classroom. 39% wanted to know more about Google Slides and 69% wanted to know more

about Google Classroom. 69% of the teachers wanted to use Google Apps to communicate with

teachers.
