Melt Index
Operation principle
The ‘Melt Index’ is related to the melted material viscosity and this
allows the operator to make an estimation of mean molecular weight,
at the same time living indication on how easy the melt can flow
through a die.
Melt Index is defined as the weight or the volume of melt flowing
through a calibrated die, under the force of a defined weight and for
a total time of 10 minutes.
Application XNR-400B
Product range
EVO product line: same as basic line with additional wide touch
screen interface. The line is consisting of three models: model XNR-
400C2 for tests as per method A. Model XNR-400C1 with encoder
to measure piston displacement for test according to Method A and XNR-400C
B. Model XNR-400C with additional weights lift, which is very con-
venient when heavy weight have to be handled. All EVO models are
equipped as standard with the extrudate cutting device and can be
interfaced to an external micro printer.
