Selected Achievements:

• Turnaround of ECOR Solutions (2006-2009) Following untimely departure of interim


president, turned around a business with no sales force, no sales, declining revenues, no cash or
profits and poor employee morale such that 2nd half 2009 EBITDA rate exceeded 22%. 2009 was
the company’s most profitable year since 1990.
• Transition Management and Startups at ECOR Solutions (1999-2002) Transitioned the spin-
out of an environmental construction subsidiary from the exclusive market pipeline of an
international environmental engineer/consultant to independent status by starting up two new
business service lines in new markets and by M&A. Built from a small acquisition a now $8+
million food manufacturing residual waste management business producing gross margins
greater than 22%. Managed the start-up of a new, now $4+ million federal market sector
operations and maintenance business producing gross margins greater than 30%.
• Successfully Managed Complex Plaintiff Litigation at ECOR Solutions (2002-2009)
Provided executive leadership during a business-threatening site remediation project from hell,
sued the client and its engineer, and recovered for the company $7.6 million in settlement
payments. Also managed 20 other litigation matters during my career.
• Corporate Development Director then President of ERM-Latin America and Caribbean
(1993-2000) Performed all merger and acquisition activities necessary to acquire four
environmental consulting companies in Latin America. Managed their development through
strategic and operational planning and use of the Balanced Scorecard. Grew the companies
to become collectively the parent company’s most profitable international region in 1999.
• Managed Hill International’s Acquisition of Gibbs & Hill Engineers, 1988’s largest
engineering industry M&A transaction. Also managed 14 other M&A transactions during my
career.

$25-30 million, privately held environmental construction and site remediation
contractor. At Board’s request stepped down to manage critical plaintiff litigation.
Key Accomplishments:
• Managed the preparation of the 2008-2012 strategic plan re-focusing the future growth of the
company on its “green” and “sustainable” businesses

• Sold two, multi-million dollar US Superfund Site remediation projects in the Philadelphia
region – project-to-date revenues exceed $17 million. Repeatedly Company’s top salesman.

• Managed over a five year period the regulatory approval process of a US Superfund Site from
the Feasibility Study phase through the issuance of the Record of Decision and Consent Decree
• Following a major client’s insolvency, implemented and managed a cash management plan
that successfully steered the company through its most difficult cash shortage period

company’s financial management and CRM system and became the company’s main “power
user”

• Devised methods to reduce SG&A expenses by


using outsourced expertise instead of in-house staff, saving the company 1.5% in its SG&A rate

• Annually secured property and casualty


insurance and health and welfare benefit plan insurances for the company reducing SG&A
expense with each renewal
