Course
Description: This course describes the challenge of business today and how this relates
Organizational Behavior (OB), especially on how to manage people
effectively in organization. OB is a field of study helping managers to
understand the impact of individuals, groups, influence, and organizational
proceses for the purposes of improving an organization’s effectiveness.
This course is designed to provide a conceptual and empirical
understanding of the process of human behavior in organization. The
course also encourages students to explore and to discuss the empirical
studies and cases in business practices in connection with the field of
organizational behavior.

Learning
Objectives: After completion of this course, students are expected to be able:
1. To identify basic concepts and theories in organizational behavior;
2. To describe processes of learning and perception leading individual
behavior and differences in organizations;
3. To explain the importance of group and social processes in
organizational processes;
4. To distinguish the varied organizational influence bringing its impact
on organizational effectiveness;
5. To explain issues related with organizational processes influencing
individual and group behavior;
6. To develop analytical and communication skills in responding the
findings from the empirical studies and cases of business practices
relevant with the topics within the course.

Students’
Responsibilities: The instructor asks students showing commitment on their responsibilities
in class as following.
1. Students are expected to attend all the scheduled meetings on time. In
accordance with the faculty of absenteeism policy students are allowed
to skip classes no more than 25% of actual class meetings without any
penalty. Fail to meet the requirement, students are assumed to fail to
complete the course.
2. Students have to attend the class at the scheduled time. The limit to
lateness is ten minutes from the scheduled time. Fail to commit this
rule, students are not allowed to attend the class and has impact on
absenteeism.
3. Students should have read the text assignments before class meeting.
4. Students are required to contribute to class discussion, to expose their
viewpoint to the discussion class as being active participants is one of
major assessment components.
5. In order to create conducive learning environment, the use of cellular
phones in the classroom is prohibited. In particular, in an urged

conditions, students are allowed to use the mobile phone outside.

Learning
Method: This method is a particular type of learning methods under the student-
centered learning (SCL) paradigm. In this approach, students are active
learners to find and construct their own knowledge. The instructor serves
only as a facilitator to help students achieve learning objectives and
develop interpersonal skills.

The class time will be devoted to discuss any concepts, materials, or issues
relevant with the topics within the course. The topics for Group
Assignment will be announced by individually in each session. To
encourage participation, students will be picked up randomly to answer
questions and be scored on the basis of their answer and readiness.

Evaluation: Students are evaluated on the following components:
(a) Midterm exam 25 points
(b) Final exam 25 points
(c) Class participation in class discussion 15 points
(d) Individual/Group Assignment 20 points
(e) Cases assignment and tests 15 points
