Abstract: Polyhedral and multifaceted, according to Pellegrini (2014), the poet Paulo

Leminski (1944-1989) arouses interest in the diverse areas of the literary researches,

having being object of analysis since the 90’s decade. If the Leminski’s prose and

poetry already have vast bibliography, the same can’t be affirmed about its critical facet,

as vigorous and inventive as the poetic. The presupposition which shows to be fertile,

therefore, is the one that, much more than a “facet”, the Paulo Leminski’s critic is

interested in reinterpret fundamental problems of the Brazilian literary culture. Or as he

defines himself, the poet is interested in being a “wild thinker”, endowed with the

capacity of “attacking all sides”, foreseeing only the profits. For that reason, he makes a

polyhedral space out of his critic: sometimes intends to “teach some ratiocination, some

concepts, for a bigger and unsophisticated audience”; sometimes releases a project as

necessary to a future poetry, as in the text “Hydroelectric central: project for ongoing

text” (LEMINSKI, 2012, p. 335); sometimes brings up reinterpretations about rupture

moments on the Brazilian literature. Of the many attempts of the poet, the Leminski’s

critical work, organized under the titles Criptical yearnings (theoretical yearnings):

Adventures of a meaning investigator in the forms and ideas’ whirlpool (1986);

Criptical Essays and Yearnings (1997) and Criptical yearnings 2 (2001), seems – such

as his poetry – to show theoretical and aesthetical coherence adopting, a priori, the

Haroldo de Campos’ synchronic methodology, for instance, when thinking about

literary critic from the radical experiences, the dissonances and the moments of

inventive high voltage. Starting from these presuppositions, the hypothesis is that the

Leminski’s critic contributes with the formulation of the meanings and routes of the

social role of the poetry and the social role of the poet of his time, the 70’s generation.

quanto a poética.
