MLA Formatting

MLA formatting is a format that is most commonly used in college and high school

writing. It is helpful to have the standards of MLA memorized to make writing essays faster.

MLA formatting is basically a set up of the page. First, you need to add a header that includes

your last name and the page number on the top right. Next you need to add the heading. Then

you add a title and begin writing. The font should be Times New Roman and the font size should

be 12. Make sure that everything is double spaced and there are 1-inch margins all around.

Dear Parents and Students,

I am excited to announce that on October 25th, we

will be having a class Read-A-Thon! Through
excellent behavior and turning homework in on time,
they have earned this fun, educational day. It is my
hope to reward them while promoting education
and reading skills.
I invite your child to bring a good book, personal
snacks, a drink, a pillow, and a blanket. Also, they
may wear their pajamas to school. The Read-A-Thon
will take place from 9:30 A.M. to 12 P.M.
This will be a fun day for your child and a great way
to foster a love for reading.
Thank you,

Ms. Haynes
