Gravitational Force

Gravitational Force is a basic

force of nature. It is present
everywhere and acts all the time.
The gravitational force acts
between the two masses in the
universe and pulls them toward
each other. The force that pulls
objects, such as falling leaves, balls
and raindrops, towards the earth is
gravitation .The force of gravity
acts between any two masses. All
masses attract one another. When
you throw a ball into the air, earth
pulls on the ball, and the ball pulls
on the earth. These forces of gravity
are equal and opposite. The pull of
earth makes the ball fall to earth.
The pull of the ball on earth also
makes earth move, but not by
much.
There is also a force of gravity
between you and ball you have
thrown. However, this force is so
small that you did not noticed it.
Why is the gravity between the ball
and the earth so strong, yet the
gravity between you and the ball is
so week?
The answer `is that the mass of
the earth is much greater than your
mass. Mass is what produces
gravity. The earth has a mass of 6x
1024 kilograms. An adult person
may only have 60kgs. That’s why
the earth’s gravity is so much
stronger than the gravity of a
person.
What Affects gravity?
If all objects attract each other,
why don’t we notice the gravity
between them? Examples, Why do
the chairs and the tables in the
classroom never move towards
each other? This is because the
masses of the chairs and tables are
relatively small. The force of
gravity between two objects
depends on both the masses of the
two objects and the distance
between the objects. The closer the
objects are to each other, the
stronger the force of gravity that
they exert on each other. Also the
more mass the objects have, the
greater the pull they will have on
each other.
