    heart diseaseUsing a total cholesterol/HDL-C cholesterol ratio of 5.0 as the cut-off point is associated with significantly
    better specificity and accuracy and similar (though lower) sensitivity than an LDL level of 150 mg/dl . Specificity and
    accuracy both are quite high with the total cholesterol/HDL ratio then with the LDL .Patients with history of coronary
    vascular events it is recommended to aim for CHOLESTROL / HDL ratio of 3.5 or lower.
