Project Title: Design and development of earth Horizon sensing(ERS) module for LEO Satellites

Abstract:
The main task of our project is to design and develop the earth horizon sensing module(ERS) for LEO Satellite to
calculate the pitch and roll values of the LEO satellite. To accomplish this task, we will develop hardware
consisting of a microcontroller and CMOS camera module. The image of horizon of the earth is taken using
CMOS camera. Then we apply image processing techniques on the taken image to find exact values. We compare
two or more images to find the nadir vector. After calculating these values, we fed this data to OBC (On Board
Computer) via RS-422 protocol. We use CAN module for inter-controller communication. We will identify the
single point of failures in out hardware to develop a redundant circuit.
