Title of the activity: Carnival Letter Toss

Block 6 - Writing
F): Copy various words associated with people or objects within the child’s environment.
Objectives
The objective is for the students to identify letters, and words associated with that letter.
Materials
● Plastic Cups
● Sharpies
● A small object, ball, or a coin
● Whiteboard and dry erase markers or something to write on

Procedures
● Write different letters on 10 plastic cups
● Set up the plastic cups on the floor in whatever shape or pattern you want - I would recommend a
triangle or a square
● Have the children stand a good distance away and have them throw a ball or coin at the cup until
they get one in the cup or hit it
● Read the letter on the cup aloud to the child and have them write the letter
● Then have them think of words that begin with that letter or sound
● Then repeat as many times as necessary
