thermal fuses. Microtemp® Thermal Fuses are available in
a variety of standard and custom configurations, providing
reliable one-shot over-temperature protection for a wide
variety of applications.

MICROTEMP® thermal fuses from Therm-O-Disc® represent

the global standard in thermal fuses. MICROTEMP®

G7 thermal fuses offer an accurate, reliable solution to the

need for upper limit temperature protection against
overheating by interrupting an electrical circuit when
operating temperatures exceed the rated temperature of
the thermal fuse.

up to 20 amps at 250VAC.

The G7 series is two thirds the size of the G4 & G5, but is
G7 rated for continuous operating currents up to 5 amps at
250VAC.

MICROTEMP® G4 and G7 series thermal cutoffs have published electrical ratings

for direct current (DC) applications. Current interruption capacity in DC circuits
is highly application sensitive. Therm-O-Disc recommends thorough testing of
DC electrical applications using the testing guidelines outlined in Therm-O-Disc’s
MICROTEMP® product bulletin & application notes.

MICROTEMP® thermal cutoffs are recognized by the major approval agencies

throughout the world for AC circuit applications. These agency electrical ratings
can be used as a guideline when evaluating specific thermal cutoff applications.
The electrical and thermal conditions to which the thermal cutoff may be
exposed in an application may differ slightly from agency test conditions. DO
NOT rely solely on agency ratings. Adequate testing must done to make sure the
TCO you have selected is the appropriate one for your application and that it will
operate as intended.
MICROTEMP® Thermal Fuses:
Fuse Operation

The temperature where the Thermal Fuse is installed is equal to or lower

than the Holding Temperature. The fuse does not trip, keeping the
circuit closed.

The temperature where the Thermal Fuse is installed reaches the Open
Temperature or rises higher than the Open Temperature. The fuse trips,
opening the circuit. The Thermal Fuse must be replaced.
