Concepts of culture media.

In order for us to isolate and identify bacteria outside the body of a patient, we need to plant it
or culture it on the appropriate culture media. These culture media have been developed to contain the
various nutritional requirements for a particular species of bacteria to grow.

We classify this culture or growth media as liquid or solid.
