Employee - Had great effort and passion that is invested by Bata employees around the world in
ensuring that bata remains a company that people can be proud to be associated
with.
- Consider ‘employees’ to be part of our ‘extended family’
- It was Bata’s priority to look after needs and the welfare of the employees and also
provide a safe, clean workplace, which maintains high standards of health and safety
to ensure employees are protected
- Around 350 employees attended courses in 2015.

Consumer - Bata is still the pioneer in the organized footwear industry but the changing
preferences of the consumers is the apex point when the company is aware of and
always endeavors to fulfil the demand of the consumers.

Shareholders - commonly reffered to as a stockholder, is any person,company or instuition that
owns at least one share of company’s stock.

Footwear Distributors SARL, with 5,685,866 equities for 75.2% as the most sharing to
the company. And the least sharing is AKD Investment Management Ltd. with 377
equities with 0.0050%.

Supplier - more than 170 supplier in China and India were internally audited against Bata
Supplier Code of Conduct
- Bata uses an independent testing inspection and certification company to ensure
that all supplier meets its specification
- Bata works woth suppliers in Europe and Asia who manufacture shoes and accessory
products on our behalf
- BATA SUPPLIERS
Bata works with carefully selected suppliers in Europe (Albania,
Czech Republic, Italy, Macedonia, Romania and Spain) and in
China and Vietnam. Approximately 60% of suppliers have worked
with Bata for more than five years, 40% of suppliers have worked
with Bata for between two and five years, and 10% of suppliers
have worked with Bata for less than two years
- Bata requires that supplier do not use any form of forced labour, harassment, abuse
or corporal punishment in its dealingwith employees
- Supplier may employ persons aged between 17 and 18 years for light duties,
provided there is no risk to the young persons well-being, education, physical or
psychological pr moral or social development. Under no circumstances may suppliers
employ persons under the age of 16 years.
Trade union - The union is progressing by creating confidence among the workers about its ability
to manage workers’ relations. This is the main reason that there is no other rival union
in the unit an AITUC (All India Trade Union Congress) has its hold on the workmen
since 1953
NGO - Bata Women and Youth of Zimbabwe project launched in collaboration with NGO,
African Women in Developing Economies. 150 women now operate as Bata
merchants selling footwear to rural communities.
