1.1. How to Use This Document

1.2. Scope of This Document


This document was prepared by ALU GPEC Fixed Access Team. The objective is to
provide detailed information of upgrade for 7302 ISAM/ISAM-V FD, 7330 ISAM FTTN,
7360 ISAM FX R4.3.X release at the customer premises. The document gives all the
information needed for preparation and upgrade of ISAM software.

2. SITE VISIT PREPARATION

This is the list of items recommended to take with you while going to site. Go
through this list before you go to a site-work.

As soon as the date/time of the activities confirmed, inform the Fixed Access
TAC/TSO group in your region. Share your MOP with the TAC team. It is a good
practice to ask them to review your MOPs. Since they are aware of many known-
issues, they can make some recommendations. During the activity, if you have any
issues you will need to raise a Support Ticket in order to get a remote support.

4. SOFTWARE UPGRADE VIA AMS


For ISAM software upgrade, please follow the procedures in below.

In the section, for ISAM software migration AMS server used as TFTP server and
from the AMS GUI the software download & upgrade actions are commenced.

4.1. Upgrade Checklist

Before uploading the software to AMS server, please check the ISAM OSWP table
from software management to find out which release or software working on ISAM.
One OSWP should be empty, if not, commit the active software which will clear the
other OSWP.

Create a temporary folder in the AMS server that will be used during software
preparation. In the document,” Upgrade_SW” is the name of the temporary folder

4.4. Adding New Software Release to 5520 AMS


After preparing software files, software upgrade can be done by following
procedure:

1. Login to the 5520 AMS GUI with AMS client

2. Click on the “Perspective Menu (1) -> Software (2)” on AMS menu to open
the NE Software File Preparation window.

3. Right click on the “New SW Releases under Software Releases” and create
NW SW release.

5. SOFTWARE UPGRADE VIA TL1


For ISAM software upgrade, please follow the procedures in below.

In the section, AMS server used as a TFTP server, for transferring the new software
load to ISAM. However another TFTP server or TFTP software can be used. Software
download to ISAM & software activation initialized from the ISAM TL1 connection.

5.1. Upgrade Checklist

Entrance Criteria

The “Pre-Upgrade Tasks” section should be completed.

of the related AMS server(for 5520 AMS R9.1 “/ams/swm/ne”).

3. Give an IP address to your personal computer in the same network with ISAM.

4. Edit the “L6GPAA43.170” descriptor file with “vi editor”. Edit the path and
filename of the software package file “L6GQAA43.170” also IP address of the TFTP
server.
