ORDER

THAT, the State has an interest over petitions of declaration for nullity of marriage,
considering that its primary objective is to protect and preserve the sanctity of
marriage;

THAT, the protection and preservation of marriage is tasked and left with the
governments’ prosecuting arm, the Office of the Solicitor General;

THAT, in so doing, the Office of the Solicitor General, through is the powers
vested to it by law, authorizes the Regional State Prosecutor or the City Prosecutor
to appear and intervene in those cases where validity of marriage is being
questioned;

THAT, by such mandate, the City Prosecutor of Cebu, as represented by City

Prosecutor MARK JEEG JAMIN, is hereby ordered to appear and intervene in
the case docketed as CIVIL CASE NO.: CEB-98018 for Declaration of Nullity of
Marriage filed by CLAUDIA ZALAMEDA-BUENAVISTA against EDUARDO
A. BUENAVISTA.
