LESSON PLAN
Aim: to warm SS up
Timing: 5 minutes
Interaction: T-S, SS-T
Procedure: Two cards for each student, red and white .
Teacher reads some sentences . If what the teacher says is true they
should show the white card , if it’s not true they should show red card.
Those students who show the wrong card have to turn in the cards.
The winner is the last student who stays in the game.
Exemples of sentences:
1. Pears are blue. Dogs are green.
2. Cherries are red. Crows are black.
3. Apples are black. Mice are yellow.
4. Plums are blue. Cabbage is pink.
5. Strawberries are red. Celery are green.
6. Oranges are white. Lettuce is green.
7. Pineapples are blue. Pumpkins are purple.
8. Watermelons are red. Tomatoes are yellow.
9. Grapes are yellow. Butter is orange.
Activity 3: LEAD-IN
Activity 5
Aim : to talk about colours
Timing: 3 minutes
Interaction: SS-T
Procedure: Teacher asks students to match the colours to a word with
the same vowel sound in it. ( exercise 2a , page 30)
Activity 6
Aim: to use –ISH suffix
Timing: 8 minutes
Interaction: SS-T
Procedure: Teacher writes on the blackboard some words :
1. green
2. tall
3. child
4. blue
5. red
Teacher asks students to add the suffix –ISH to the above words.
Teacher takes one by one and explains word formation and spelling
rules.
Activity 7
Aim: to associate flowers of different colours to their special
meanings
Timing: 5 minutes
Interaction: T-S, S-T
Procedure: Using the expression “ to be going to “ , students choose 3
flowers to plant and give them a special meaning.
Activity 8
Aim: to associate colours to different things
Timing: 5 minutes
Interaction: T-S
Procedure: Teacher asks students to close their textbooks
Students will hear a song, after that they have to say where is the
singer’s home in the country or town .
Students open their textbook and check the answer.
Students listen again and match things to colours mentioned or
implied in the song.
Skies- blue
Sand- yellow
Swan- white
Flowers- white
Mountains- green
Rocks-white
Students read the lyrics of the song and in groups find the lines which
suggest :
a) people at home are encouraging
b) home is pure and peaceful
c) the land of the singer’s dreams is real
