1. Carrying out healthcare needs assessment of an individual of any age


2. Functioning as a healthcare consultant with all relevant groups within a community
3. Maintain current records according to the scientific nursing process
4. Practice in accordance with ethical and legal codes of healthcare management and
relevant legislation
5. Provide relevant micro and macro biological and care in order to meet needs
identified according to the scientific approach to healthcare provision.
6. Participate in a community health assessment

Healthcare Data Management

1. Identifying and solving problems in which responses display that responsible


decisions using critical and creative thinking have been made when identifying data
documentation problems and finding creative ways to obtain relevant data from
healthcare providers.
2. Working effectively with others as a member of a team, group, organisation, and
community during the following of the principles as determined by the definitions.
3. Organising and managing oneself and one's activities responsibly and effectively
when abstracting information and assigning ICD and procedure to medical records
and/or medical data.
4. Collecting, analysing, organising and critically evaluating information to better
understand and explain by evaluating clinical information and/or health records and
related clinically coded sets.
5. Communicating effectively using visual, mathematical and/or language skills in the
modes of oral and/or written persuasion when communicating effectively during the
explanations of definitions/terminology used in various body systems and the
application thereof, as well as when compiling and presenting reports and/or
clinically coded information.
6. Using science and technology effectively and critically, showing responsibility
towards the environment and health of others when capturing and compiling data
sets.
7. Demonstrating an understanding of the world as a set of related systems by
recognising that problem-solving contexts do not exist in isolation when
demonstrating an understanding and applying definitions/terminology and the
implications of non-compliance and understanding that incorrect translation of
medical terminology will lead to incorrect health data collection for South Africa.

Disaster management

1. Identify and discuss types of disasters and their implications on a macro and micro
level
2. Discuss approaches to disaster management
3. Identify and implement disaster management policies
4. Analyse various disaster scenarios and make recommendations for effective disaster
management

Current Consultancy

1. Write legal documents for court or other proceedings and other medico-legal,
clinical and management documents.
2. Coordinate with patient and align technical information to comply with medico-legal
requirements.
3. Ensuring legal requirements to control occupational hygiene hazards in terms of
relevant legislation and specific requirements.
