1. INTRODUCTION:

Since ancient times, the use of structures has been of vital importance for construction
due to its capacity to distribute and support different types of cargo; for this reason, the
study of these has been destined to the structural analysis, which there are two methods
to be able to solve the different drawbacks that its design presents day by day.
Among the methods that structural analysis uses, we find the following methods: Method
of nodes and method of sections. In this work we will dedicate ourselves to explain only
one of them, the method of sections, for this we will define some concepts that we will
use throughout the monograph.
2. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

2.1. ARMOR ANALYSIS BY SECTION METHOD

2.1.1. Armor

Armor is one of the main types of structures used in engineering, it is a practical economic
solution for the design of bridges and buildings. The elements of this are usually small
and only support small loads, all the loads have to be applied in the nodes not on the
elements

2.2.2. Types of armors

2.2.3. Sections method

The method of the sections is used to determine the charges that act within a body, is
based on the principle that if a body estilen equilibrium then any part of the body is also
in balance.

Annexed 2

It can be clearly observed that for equilibrium the limb that is in tension (T) is subject to
a "Pull" while the compression member is subjected to a "push".
If the selected section passes through the armor and the free-body diagram of any of its
two parts is drawn, then we can apply the equilibrium equations to that part to determine
the forces of the "cut-off" member. As only three independent equilibrium equations
(ΣFX = 0 ΣFY = 0 ΣMo = 0) can be applied to the isolated part of the armature, try to
select a section that generally passes through no more than three members in which the
forces of are unknown.

2.2.3.1. There are two ways in which the correct sense of an unknown member
strength can be determined:

Always assume that the unknown forces in members of the cut section are in tension,
that is, "pulling" on the member. By doing this, the numerical solution of the equilibrium
equations will give positive scalars for members in tension and negative scalars for
members in compression.

The correct sense of an unknown force, in many cases can be determined "by inspection"
depending on how it is required for what this is equilibrium. In more complicated cases,
the sense of an unknown member force can be assumed, if the solution gives a negative
scalar, this indicates what the force sense is opposite to that shown in the free-body
diagram.
3. CONCLUSIONS:

 Structures are essential in the construction of bridges and buildings since part of
the distribution of loads depends on them; therefore, its design requires an
intensive structural analysis, detailing all the loads that may affect it. This work
involves a lot of dedication and criteria, it turns out to be tedious, but on this
depends the structural safety of the constructions.

 This method is based on the fact that if a structure taken as a whole, is in

equilibrium, any part of it will be. Then, if a portion of the structure is taken by a
cut, in such a way that it has no more than three unknowns, it is possible, by means
of the three independent equations available in the case of coplanar forces, to
determine the forces in the members involved in the cut to obtain the respective
solution.
