AIMS: - to develop the students’ reading skills
- to acquire new vocabulary related to colours
- to develop the students’ speaking skills;
- to talk about colours
- to associate colours with different things
-To participate with pleasure at the lesson
ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP
Good morning teachers!
Good morning children! Sit down. Who is on duty today?
I am on duty today.
Who is absent today?
….. is/ are absent today.
a) Checking the homework
Do you have homework for today?
We have to translate some sentences using –ing and –ed adjectives.
When do we use these adjectives?
Ss answer and the homework is checked.
b) Linking the old lesson with the new lesson
Do you have a favourite colour?
Which is your favourite colour? Why?

Who prefers white? Why?
What about red?
Do you think that colours are important in people’s life? Why?

Interaction: T-Ss, S-T


ACTIVITY 2: LEAD- IN
T writes the title of the lesson on the board and Ss write it in their copy-books
COLOURS
T asks Ss to open the books at page 35 and to read it.

ACTIVITY 3: PRESENTATION OF THE NEW KNOWLEDGE


Ss read the new lesson, and then they translate it using the dictionary.
Ss are asked if they agree or disagree what the text says about colours.
ACTIVITY 4: FEED- BACK
Ss are divided into 4 groups. They have to make a short project work about their group
favourite’s colour. Ss have to sustain their ideas. If they need, the dictionary can also be used.
After some minutes the group leader will present the project in front of the classroom.
T encourages all students and notes a point for each correct answer
ACTIVITY 5: EVALUATION
T grades some Ss and accounts for them. Ss are assigned to do individual projects about
colours as homework.
