Applications of PMBLDC Motor
1- BLDC Motor Driven Solar PV Array Fed Water Pumping System Employing Zeta
Converter [1]

2- High Torque Density Frameless Motors for Robot Application [2]

These motors are designed to meet the torque loads and size requirements in the rapidly growing
robotics industry, and can support peak torque loads ranging from 85 oz-in to 531 oz-in within the
compact frame sizes of 2.6, 3.0 and 3.8 inch outside diameter. The compact size of each motor
design allows them to fit within the articulating robot wrist, elbow and shoulder axis — and they
can do it while handling continuous duty cycles. All three motor designs incorporate new rotor
magnet material configurations that have only recently become available for volume applications.
This makes possible a simplified and more cost effective manufacturing process.

3- 3D Laser Scanning [4]

The drive unit, as marked on Figure consists of two custom-wound 24V brushless DC motors,
capable of rotation rates up to 30 revolutions per second. These motors drive the scan head
through a pair of concentric shafts, which means the stators of both motors remain stationary at
all times. where one of the drives must be moved in order to scan the field of view of the sensor.
By keeping the motors stationary the mass of the moving parts is greatly reduced, requiring less
power, and allowing faster response time, higher precision, and better control. The position of
these motors is monitored through a pair of 36000 tick-per-revolution magnetic quadrature
encoders.

4- Inside a Drone
Brushless motors take the aircraft into the sky and keep cameras level. They are fast, powerful,
agile, highly efficient and extremely reliable, making them ideal for everyday use. The way they are
made and how they interact with everything from props to the airframe can have a huge impact
on the way an aircraft moves through the air.

5- BLDC Motors in automotive applications [7]
The typical automobile contains more than 50 small motors. Nowadays more and more of them
are brushless DC motors, especially in units where saving energy, long service life, compactness,
and low noise are essential.

7- electronic manufacturing [9]

Beside to the electronic manufacturing, miniaturized motors are required also in laboratory robots,
analysis equipment, measuring and testing apparatus or micro grip tongs. Tasks such as optical lens
correction, dosing minute quantities of liquid or positioning of calipers must be carried out quickly,
with great precision and very smoothly.
8- PAP respirator[9]
In Figure, a photo of a PAP respirator available in the market, which employs a BLDC motor, is
shown. The microcontroller sets the motor speed - and this in turn determines the output
pressure - as function of the patient's breathing pattern.

Applications of Permanent Magnet DC Motor

1- Remote Camera Operator [10]
The ElectroCraft motor design team, using a foundation of PMDC motor products with a legacy of
quality and reliability, fulfilled the application requirements with a high performance PMDC motor
for both the pan and tilt camera head axis that met the low noise requirement for studio work
while maintaining the reliability in for the more robust outdoor environmental use, all in the same
design. Our regional value-add facility in Crewe, England further refined the product by adding
encoders and other shaft modifications on certain models
2- Electric Lift [10]
ElectroCraft designed a custom PMDC motor with high current carrying capability to meet the
stringent temperature, environmental and performance requirements of the application. Each
motor was individually tuned prior to shipment in order to match the performance required for
optimal steering control.

3- Blower Motor [10]

Using an existing production design with proven performance and reliability history, ElectroCraft
created a prototype with vented slots on each end cap for cooling that met the performance
requirements in the initial sample.
