ABSTRACT

The present study defines a detailed diagnosis of the damages suffered by

several flexible pavements projects in the Cusco region, it was necessary to carry
out a thorough inspection of the road to be evaluated, in which deteriorations in
the surface of rolling of level of severity are evidenced low, medium and high in
some cases, which justified to elaborate the identification, classification and
monitoring of the superficial faults found.
Most of the roads maintained and rehabilitated, have deteriorated prematurely,
reducing the condition and level of serviceability of the pavement, demanding
corrective and complementary work ahead of schedule. The causes are related
to inadequately projected traffic, poor assessment of the subgrade, drainage
conditions, environmental conditions not considered, among others.
The Cusco region has a variety of designs in flexible pavements, which for the
most part have not complied with the life cycle for which they were designed. This
is why conservation is important through routine maintenance, periodic and / or
rehabilitation of the roads, which will provide users with safety, comfort and
reduced transportation time. In this way, the level of service of the roads will be
significantly improved.
